Oh...it's 3:30 A.M......Great....
2005-07-22 05:40:25
Just finished another haul of editing and just looked at the clock. 3:30...hmmm...that's just great...I have to work in 6 hours. Well, I can't complain I got some good sections done. I think I'll be calling it a night now seeing that I can't retain a steady train of thought at all at this point. Later...(ramble, ramble, ramble...)

The Dreaded All-Nighter...
2005-07-19 04:49:49
I plan to do an all night editing run either tomorrow night or the next day. I find that whenever I sit down to edit I usually get about 3-5 seconds of my AMV done and then I hit a block. By this time it's about 2:30 and I think to myself, "Well I should go to bed now and work on more tomorrow." It's not that a little restraint is a bad thing, but I find myself stopping right as I get going just because I feel that I should keep a regular sleep schedule. But that's all going to end in the next couple days. In order to get more of my AMV done in larger pieces I plan to edit straight from 9 P.M. - 6 A.M. That's right, all editing until the morning light. This probably won't be the healthiest plan in the world but I feel that the AMV, although it is coming along very nicely, is developing to slow and to small of pieces. So I'll write another entry when I begin my all-night editing streks and let you know how they go; also how much of my sanity/well-being I can retain after such sessions. Well, I'd better get some sleep while I can because come tomorrow it's "no sleep 'til dawn."

Late Night Inspiration?
2005-07-18 05:03:07
I'm not sure if it's just me but it seems that I get my best ideas and do my best editing at 2 A.M. I know this sounds weird but it's true. I was having some trouble nailing down a certain part of my newest AMV yesterday and so I gave myself some time to think about it. I didn't get too many solutions while I was stuck at work but as soon as I got home and hopped on Premiere the ideas just came flowing. Oddly enough I didn't get home until about 1:30 meaning that once I had settled down to edit it was about 2. It's a little eerie seeing that I've been testing this theory for the past few nights and it's actually been working. I guess it's just a weird time balance in my internal clock, but I'm not complaining.
P.S. - I've been reading other journals and notice that mine is pretty transfixed on my AMVs and seems less laid back in comparison with others. I would like to post some personal stuff but lately I've been dead set on concentrating on my new AMV. It's gonna take me some time and by focusing I can make it go faster and come out better. So once I finish then I'll post more personal or interesting stuff, if some find this boring. :( Well back to editing!

This might take a while...
2005-07-15 04:41:45
I just finished another short stretch of editing and it's come to my attention that my new AMV is taking an hour for every 3 seconds I'm editing! This is because of the delicacy I'm taking with my scene selections and effects, but yeeesh! At this rate it'll take me around 150 more hours to complete! Well, it's all for the audience so I'm up to the challenge! I think once I get past the first minute then I should find a groove and the scenes and ideas will flow faster. Either way, it never hurts to be optimistic right? Well I'm gonna get some sleep now...I just wanted to vent a little bit for the exercise in editing sensitivity that this AMV is becoming. But if I work diligently for the next month I should have it finished! I'll do my best! Good night for now!

Better late than never...right?
2005-07-08 20:14:38
Well, I've been on the org for a year and a half and never got around to actually starting this. But I feel that since I'm actually editing alot these days, I should at least be posting my progress and thoughts as I go.
Coming back from Anime Expo a few days ago was really cool. I wasn't expecting it but my AMV had won the best drama award. It wasn't so much winning that I was excited about, but the fact that people had recognized and acknowledged my concept and editing style. I've only made a couple AMV's so far but I've never gotten alot of feedback until I did "Tear Stained Hearts". With this newly gained assurance of my AMV creation methods I can confidently begin my newest vid.. I have to say thanks to everyone at Anime Expo for their kindness and support, I would like everyone to know that it gives me some much needed confidence in my editing to know that I accomplished the goal of making something meaningful.
Well, getting past the soft, mushy feelings...I've already begun my next vid. Only two days after getting back I've invested over 12 hours on the vid and I can say that it's shaping up very nicely at the moment. It's a romance vid that I'm doing because of how hard the concept hit me when I heard the song. I won't post any details yet, but what I can say is that I knew I had to tackle this vid after having such a vivid picture of it in my head after hearing the song only one time. I plan to have this vid done before September so that I can enter it in some contests before the end of the year, but if it's not going well near the end I'm not gonna rush it to make any deadlines. I want to make sure that I do my very best at materializing the idea that captivated me to do this AMV. Hopefully everyone will like it once I finish!
I think that's all I have to say for now. I just wanted to start a journal here as I really start creating more AMV's. And hopefully people will continue to provide the caring support that I've seen for my vids already. I'll do an update as soon as my newest vid starts to really start moving along! Later!
