Begin the action...but different than first anticpated

That's right, I've started my next vid. Like I said in my last post, it's a gritty, fast paced song so it should end up being very exciting. There's a bit of a difference with how I'll be making this one though. Initially I was planning to do alot of blending and smearing effects but after trying for 3 hours yesterday and coming up with nothing that I even remotely liked, I've changed my idea. I've decided to fall back to a more simple style since in my last three vids I've been going crazy on new effect ideas. So with this new one I will be using NO EFFECTS. Thats right, I'm going back to old school editing and relying mainly on action sync, clip speed and flashes. I decided this last night after my 3 hour editors block and have already finished a small sequence of it. I gotta say that I like it. Plus it's a style that I haven't really delved into; effectless fast action with strong internal sync.
This vid is actually an easier vid on the technical side but scene selection for the many beats to sync takes a good amount of time. If all goes well I think I should have this one finished by the end of May, if not a bit sooner. So look forward to it! -
My drama is dead...but my action is on track

Well...some bad news. After trying to get back into the mood of my drama vid I declare that my drama is dead. I tried to go back to it after finishing my dance vid but there's nothing thats coming to mind. Basically I've lost the passion to finish the vid. So unfortunately, rather than forcing it I'm just going to cut it off and move on. It's a sad thing for my idea but my mindset and mood is still in the mode for challanges and pace.
So on a brighter note I think I've got a killer idea for an action vid. I've got a fast paced song lined up and alot of ideas rearing to go. And for this one I'm going a little more raw on the theme. So no more squares or glittery effects but now i'm gonna try for grit and pace. So wish me luck and since I plan on starting this one very soon. -

That's right, my new vid is finished and uploaded! It's another dance/action vid but I consider this one to be even better than my last. I really had to take alot of time to figure out how to do the effects I wanted and spent many hours experimenting with different techniques. But in the end it was all for the best because I feel as though I've learned alot after completing this one. The anime I chose to use was Dual!, a good mecha/harem show that is one of my older favorites. I've personally never seen a full length Dual! AMV so I was happy to make this one and give Dual! a little more exposure in the community. Well, I hope you all like this one as much as I do and I always appreciate more feedback, so lemme know what you think!

YAY! Rookie of the year! And my vid is almost finished!

Wow, checked the VCAs last night and saw that I won rookie of the year. Very very cool. I gotta say that it was a fun first year and I'm glad that alot of people out there were able to enjoy my work. Don't think that I'm gonna just take it easy now that I got that. I'm gonna be pushing myself even harder now to surpass my first year's vids by leaps and bounds. But thanks to everyone who voted and to everyone who watched my vids and found some enjoyment from them!
As for my new vid...I literally have like 10 seconds left to edit. So it looks like I'll make it in time for ACEN. Just gotta get some betas out there and make some fine adjustments and it'll be good to go. So be sure to watch out for it after April 1st! -
Been a while...almost done with my current project

Wow, I haven't made an entry since January...I'm slacking. But that's mainly been due to how busy I've been with everything. I'm pretty engrossed in alot of things right now and one of those is my next vid. I know I haven't really released alot of info but that's just because I wanted this project to be as great as I envisioned before I went a gave away any details. But safe to say, I'm almost done with it. It's another dance/action vid but this one is alot more technical than my last. I've been working on it for a little over 2 months and I have to say that this vid is really gonna shine. I'm trying alot of advanced techniques and trying my hardest to produce the effects that I saw in my head when I had the ideas. It's been pretty slow going but it's coming together nicely. I plan to have this vid done before April 1st so that I can have it ready for ACEN and if all stays on schedule I should be done editing by next week. So that leaves me about 3 days after to revise, test and polish it...which might seem like a crunch but I'm up to the challenge!
