JOURNAL: Rozard (Brian Nickerson)

  • Spring for a real one? 2002-04-09 00:12:34 It's 3:20 in the morning, and I'm pissed off. I should be watching "Outlaw Star" right now, but my roommate's DVD-ROM is a fucking bitch. *sigh*
  • Hells yeah! 2002-04-08 12:03:03 Well, this weekend was quite eventful. I went home for the weekend and hung out with my crew, Matt B. and Matt O. Combined, we are...SILVER ELIXIR! But we haven't exactly kicked out the other drummer, because we're using her PA system and her drum set. So, as of right now, I'm "percussion." That will change during the summer though.

Anyhow, Friday night we all went down to City Place, which is like the newest prep hang out, where people drive their cars up and down the street. All you can hear is the buzzing of car trunks as their subwoofers create vibration similar to that of Hiroshima, circa 1945. It also has stores, a movie theater, some resturants and live entertainment. We were not it, but Matt and Matt had brought their acoustic guitars. After deciding it was a bad place to set up, we caught a bus to Clematis St., which is where all the clubs are. Considerably quieter, we set up infront of a popular store, only for a few minutes later another guy walked up with a guitar. They all started jamming together, and the guy even had a bucket for money, with "Starving Musician" written on the side of it.

That was Friday night, and on Saturday, we recorded some in the "studio," and went to R.J. Gator's for dinner. Well, actually, we all went to my house for tacos, then went to Gator's and just got drinks and a little food. I can't believe they replaced "San Francisco Rush: 2049" with some Daytona racing game! That blows! Since it was Saturday night, there were doing kareoke, and after an hour of listen to poor renditions of obscure country songs, we decided to give it a go. I went first with "Green Day - Brain Stew," to which I received much applause. Matt B. went after me, perfoming "Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven." If singing a 9 minute song isn't bad enough, the recording they had was in the wrong key. Matt did great though, although he'd never believe it.

Sunday, I mowed the lawn, and we recorded a little more before I had to catch the train back here to Miami. Once I got back, I watched "Alias" and ate Chinese with my girlfriend. Her bed time is a strict 10PM, so I came back to my room and attempted to get my DivX files to work in Premiere, which ain't happening. I have to thank Ford and MJ, though. They helped me get the Huffy codec to appear on my VirtualDub screen. And how can a 75MB file become 2.7GB!? Not only that, but it still won't work. >_<

As a last note: MJ and YCSTR, my friend's CD burner isn't working, so he's going to export our recordings to MP3 and send them to me sometime this week. I'll talk to you two later. Peace!

    Eating: A banana
Listening to: Horace Silver - Song For My Father

  • Laughing My Ass Off! 2002-04-04 20:08:55 jbone: Nice poem! Can my band put music to it and record it?
  • Qyxz: "Man, I only have 20 MB left on my hard drive!!!" 2002-04-04 20:07:12 WTF!! vampireanneke informed me that there's 39 episodes of Revolutionary Girl Utena, and only 13 have been brought to the US, with no plans to bring the rest. Apparently, there's the issue of gay, lesbian and incestual topics. Not good for *fragile* American childern's minds. Whatever...

The chat room is kind of dead right now (10:40 PM EST). I watched CSI tonight. I love that show! On tonight's episode, a woman was killed my a stalker, and it was later discovered that the stalker was just trying to control her, and was really stalking and trying to become one of the CSI team members. He was even living in the guys attic! Fucking A!!! *Laughs at the thought of someone reading this, then scrambling to their attic* That show is great, and it's really become very "viewer-involved." Often I feel like I'm right there in the middle, and I'm trying to solve the case.

steakslim: Don't you just love my update on what I'm listening to?

Well, I'm going home tomorrow to record with my band Silver Elixir. And if that's not enough, I'm bring a copy of "Gunsmith Cats: Bulletproof!" with me. Peace!
  • 110 hits...Simply amazing... 2002-04-04 11:08:28 You mean to tell me you people actually read the shit I type!? Well, as Isaac of "Love Boat" fame would say, "Outta sight!"

treeprincess: I just check out that April Fools link. That shit is hilarious.
Dewie: PLEASE STOP DISGRACING THE HALLS OF THE AMV.ORG CHAT ROOM!! You did not bag Daphney from the Scooby Doo movie; that was the pizza guy. And face it, you liked it.

Wow, I didn't realize DVD-ROMs are only $80 at Best Buy. I'm gonna shop around and try to find a better deal. Now all I'd need are DVDs, RAM and a large HD. Well, it's time to fuck around with my computer and get it working better. Peace.
