I'm going to kill my brother
2002-08-06 17:46:03
Yeah, well....we won't get into that here. But all I have to say is >_< "KILL KILL KILL!!!"
Well, as you may know, I went to Key West with the family this weekend. Fucking awesome! I went on a jet ski tour Saturday morning. We travelled around the whole island and visited various locations. One place we visited was an incomplete submarine pit. The Navy began building them after WWII, when there was fear of Cuba launching a suprise attack on the US. Well, I believe it was around 1960 when the US Gov't said "Look, Cuba's not going to attack with subs. We're cutting your funds." So there they are, incomplete in all their glory. We also travelled in both the Atlantic Ocean abd the Gulf Of Mexico.
And the food there was delicious! I looooooooove seafood, and the Keys is like seafood central! Lobster bisk, crab cakes, shrimp scampi...*drool* Other than the food, there were lots of things to do. I visited two famous resturants, Hog's Breath and Sloopy Joe's. I also toured Ernest Hemingway's Key West home, which was actually really cool. His house was originally that of Asa Tift's, a "wrecker" in the mid 1800s. Basically, a wrecker would help people and ships that would wreck themselves on the island. And in return for their service, they would take a considerable amount of the cargo.
At any rate, before more land was added to the Key by man, the Tift house was almost on the edge of the water, right across the street from the lighthouse. Well, as the story goes, one of the reasons Hemingway bought the house was so, after a long night of drinking at Sloopy Joe's, he could just look up at the sky and walk towards the light of the lighthouse, knowing his home was right across the street.
Anyhow, I'm home now. I got my confirmation letter for AWA over the weekend, along with The Anime Encyclopedia. Yay! Well, that's it for now. I can't think of anything else to write. Peace!

It's not that hard to pee in a cup, Brian!

Ugh, just one more reason I need to drink more water. I did manage to squeak out just enough for the nurse to test it. And I gad to wait an 0100 hours for Operation: Dixie Cup to commence! I waited for an hour, and ther was no one else in the fucking place!!! -_-; Whatever, it's over...
Well, I'm going with the family to Key West tomorrow morning, spending the weekend ^_^ Lots to do. Also, I did get hired at Publix. My first day of work is next Thursday.
I also finished FLCL. Pretty trippy, and I didn't really get some of the stuff until the last 2 episodes. I still don't understand the thing about the dad being a puppet, or something like that. Was that a spoiler? Oh well, I hope you've seen the show before. If not, don't worry; it doesn't pertain to the story that much :^P
Whee! I have 927 views of my journal. Speaking of 927, there's a local radio station where I live, Real Radio 92.7 They have a Listen Live feature - Well, it's internet radio - and I seriously suggest The Monsters Of The Midday (10am-3pm EST) and The Love Doctors (3pm-7pm EST). Definantly the Love Docs. They rock. I highly recommend the News Nuggets section (5pm EST) and the Quickies (6:30pm EST). The site is http://www.wzzr.com/ Rock on!!!
