JOURNAL: Rozard (Brian Nickerson)

  • David_Violence: ROZARD, YOUR FATE IS SEALED -=- Reply 2002-09-12 00:51:41 OK, I don't know if any of you have read the lastest journal post by David_Violence, so I'm posting it in my journal with a response:

    ========================================================================

    ROZARD, YOUR FATE IS SEALED

    It would be one thing if this brian nickerson character was just a shitty amv maker.

    but the fact that he gets plenty of positive opinion for his videos is just too much for me.

    I have taken the situation into my own hands. Watch for my newest bastard child of animation and sound technology.

    It is easily the most advanced and highest quality video creation I have ever done, and it's all to teach this guy a little lesson in what real electronic music editing is all about.

    hopefully, he'll learn something about picking one of my favorite artists and making an utterly atrocious video to it.

    =========================================================================

    Well, I'm glad that this guy is the freaking Squarepusher messiah. I was beginning to worry he'd never show up. Sarcasm aside, I want to address his journal post.

    When did AMV making become a duel? I mean, I'm well aware of the competitions at conventions, don't get me wrong, but when did someone start to take offense from someone else's video? I made a Squarepusher video, and I know it's not the best in the world. It was made in Windows Movie Maker entirely with downloaded footage! I never claimed it to be the authority on Electronic Music AMVs, so I don't know why you are treating it as such. I don't see many Linkin Park fans getting all riled up about my Linkinball Z video, or anyone elses for that matter.

    How is my fate sealed? By you making your new video, and I going to drop dead suddenly? Is my computer going to explode? You're treating this as if I personally insulted you in some way. I've seen some shitty 311 AMVs (311 is my favorite band) but you don't see me attacking anyone, saying "My 311 video will be superior, and shall undo the injustice *Inster creator* did to 311!" Frankly, it's not my place. If Nick Hexum wants to come here and make an AMV to one of his songs, by all means let him. That would be the closest thing to the authority of an AMV for a particular song.

    I think it is quite juvenile that you attack my AMV making abilities. I know that you have seen my "Wicked Mix" video, but I don't know if you have seen any of my others. Granted, this does not prove myself not a "shitty AMV maker," as you so put it. I know I don't suck, but I also know I'm not the best, or great for that matter, and have never claimed to be. I have never done anything to you, so I don't know why you must degrade me. As for the positive feedback on my video, that's other people's opinions. If you want someone to yell at, yell at them. They're the ones that gave my video the ratings they have. You even review this video - Well over a month ago, I might add (Well over) - so you made your voice heard. I don't see the point of attacting me for something that I had no control over after you had already made your opinions known.

    I hope you do know that you can edit your video reviews. I would much prefer that you express your opinions about my video there than dragging my name in themud in your journal. If you feel so inclined, go back and change the scores for my video to all 1s. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest. The values really mean nothing to me; it's the text review that I care about. That way I can truly find out what people liked/dislikes about my video, and perform a self-evaluation. I encourage you do tell me my video is shit there, if it is your will to do so.

    You said you've taked the situation into your own hands. I don't see any situation at all. I see that I made a video and you didn't like it. For some reason, you have this notion that you have to show me the error of my ways. Although you may think of it as vintication, I see it as a cheap name drop. You call my video shit, then proclaim your next project to be the greatest thing your mind has ever come up with. I don't know what you hope to accomplish, but this is what I think will happen: Because of your post, more people will download my video, seeing what the fuss is about. Some people may review my video, telling me their opinions. Others may give my videos straight 10s and flame you in the opinion section. Others still may give my video straight 1s, siding with you. Probably most of the viewers will not review my video.

    So have I learned my lesson? No, because there is no lesson to be learned. Well, actually, there is one, and I've learned it time and again: No matter what you do, someone out there is not going to like what you do. I honestly don't know what provoked this sudden, blatent attack, and I honestly don't care. By the way, I've watched about half of your Boogiepop Twin video (My internet connection broke). I think it was very interesting and original. I may review it soon, if I get the time. I wish for you to keep up the good work, and I eagerly anticipate your Squarepusher video.

    In conclusion, I'd like to ask what you intended to accomplish by degrading me in your journal? Did you think I was going to call you names, post humorous pictures in the forums? I have a suspicion, though, that this isn't the response you expected. Not everything you expect will happen. I certainly didn't expect any of this. I would like you to know that I hold no ill will against you, and that I hope the same goes for you.
  • 15 days til AWA, Pt. 2!!! 2002-09-11 18:35:28 EK: Get your tubes tied :^P

    Anyhow, I was just hanging out with a friend at the mall, and we ran into someone else we knew. My friend Matt bought two shirts at PacSun, I went to FYE to check out prices of DVDs. Is the first FLCL DVD out yet?! I could have sworn it was supposed to be out the 3rd...

    Also, on my way out of the house, the high school had let out about 20 minutes before, and at the end of my street there were about 4 kids in a fight and 10 cheering it on. I rolled my eyes and honked the horn. Startled them a bit, but they didn't seem to really care. I circled back around to my house to get my CD player and my SmashMouth CD. I was going to blast "Why Can't We Be Friends," but the 'kids,' as I now refer to them, had scattered after a neighbor (a short woman) came over and yelled at them. Kids...*Rolls eyes*
  • 15 days til AWA.... 2002-09-11 14:43:24 I'm trying to contact someone about my band possible playing this Saturday. It'd be pretty cool, our first true show. ^_^

    I've tried to watch one of anneke's videos on my computer a few times, but for some reason it's corrupt on my computer, and it locks up after the first 30 seconds >_< Maybe when she posts a different video I can watch that one. Also, I'm going to try and buckle down and finish my GITS video for you, my fans! ^_^ Yeah right. Well, I hope to have it done for RVP's AWA Compilation CD. Peace!
  • Uh...15 1/2 days til AWA!!! ^_^; 2002-09-11 01:37:02 Yeah, so I missed it by an hour or two, SO SUE ME!!! :^Þ

    Right now, I'm sending MJ a pre-Beta copy of my new vid. It's about 1/2 done, and it's got some holes. I just wanted an opinion on what I have so far, and MJ's the only one on that's available, and that I want to see the video right now. Sorry Dave. :^(
  • 17 days til AWA...^_^; 2002-09-09 23:33:07 Damn it, I missed a day! Yeah, I was at work, and didn't get back soon enough. And then today, my internet connection was down (Taint) and I gave into that deep urge to edit, much like that of a satyriasis (Look it up.) I got a good deal done; I'd say I'm about 1/3 to 1/2 done now. ^_^

    Well, nothing spectacular happened at school today. Except in my speech class, we were supposed to write personal ads for ourselves. It was an exercise to help introduce ourselves to our class. Well mine was:
    "19 year old white male, enjoys camping, watching anime, listening to music, and plays multiple instruments. Seeks female with similar interests - Straight-edge only. I make Anime Music Videos."
    That last sentence, of course, is an hommage to the UshiCon documentary. Well, the girl that was sitting next to me said, "Wait, you make Anime Music Videos?!" "Yep," I said. "I'm Rozard with Random Variable Productions." "OH MY GOD!!! I love your stuff!" she said.....-_-;;; OK, I just making this shit up now, and I can't make it sound convincing. But I did put the AMV making up there! ^_^

    Well, I think that's it for now. I've been offline for a while, so I need to check out the forums as well. Peace!
