JOURNAL: Bowler

  • This is your life/Good to the last drop/It just doesn't get any better than this. 2002-02-20 14:07:17 Penguins falling into murky mucky water through a thin sheet of ice tripped by CGI penguins are both funny and disgusting all at the same time.

    Bored.

    Biggety bored.

    Bored Bored Bored.

I'm recording the moves for the NBA Ballers game today. I've surfed every site I go to about 8 times over already today. I apologize for extra hits to anyone's sites.

    BORED.

  • I say, let me never be complete. I say, may I never be content. 2002-02-19 23:18:30 I say, never hit the enter key when you're up in the title bar or you post the same blank journal entry twice.

EK: Congrats on the vid award, and I say go with choice "b." Although you had me laughing pretty hard with "I'm so happy, I'm spitting graphite" and "Ugly as Sin," I think that choice "b" is not only artful, but also displays your vis comm (visual communications, I majored in the damn thing for a semester ::shudder::) abilities using typesetting/fonts to accentuate your art/wallpapers.

Today was such the rollercoaster. I've been passionless about everything creative lately. This pretty much coveres everything from artwork to love-life. Being of Irish decent, I tend to lose my temper at the drop of a hat, or more to the point, when I stub my toe on the corner of the refridgerator. I put a dent in one when I was about 13 because I felt that it intentionally attacked me.

    Well it did. Stop laughing.

So I've been on a mission to figure out how to calm myself down. I've studied Buddhism, and it works. But the problem is that I've been counting on my emotions to focus my energy into my art, and when I subdue my emotions, I subdue my passion for everything, and become dull and droll.

Today started out *very* humdrum. Borderline depressive. It picked up quite a bit when I played some Medal of Honor online from work. I could go on for paragraphs about how exciting/nerve wracking that game is. But not now. I'm trying not to let videogames become an emotional/passion crutch. Then I came home, and watched 24. Also very exciting. Then I sat down and started working on the video again. I got the vob-to-avi converter up and running, and saw the Session 1 that I ripped last night. Very exciting! Then I put my ripped .wav file into Premiere and set some editing flags for the chorus/stanzas in the song. Even more excitement!!

Baby steps. Taking baby steps. I want to do more, but I'll wind up staying up all night. I really need to sit down and watch the entire series straight through again on x2 or x4 Fast Forward and write down all the shots I want this weekend. Then I can take the other day to rip vobs and make avi's of the shots I want to use, so I can start dropping them in during the week when I only have an hour or two to work on it. Then I need to make about roughly 2 or 3 custom scenes. I was going to do animation, but now I think I'm just going to make them old b & w photographs, since they're supposed to be "flashbacks" anyway.

So today, I say Woot with an uppercase Double U.
  • Very small rocks. Churches! Lead. 2002-02-19 00:46:33 lower case woot. The vob file ripper worked! Now I have to download the .avi/dvd translator thingamajig. Baby steps...baby steps. Premiere also works, so hopefully I can be editing by tomorrow night. Maybe.

First I need to go and really plan out what footage I need from the series. That could take a week.

In the immortal words of Shang Tsung: "It has begun!"

  • Radar Love? 2002-02-18 16:43:26 Vegeta: Are you talking about *the* Radar Love? Because that song's all about driving and driving fast. I would recommend anything that has cars. And lots of them. And preferably something where driving means something to the lead character. Like Riding Bean. Or maybe something along the lines of Speed Racer, but not that old.
  • Have Premeire, Will Travel. 2002-02-18 16:07:15 Happy I came into work today. Was thinking about feigning Illness so I could read more Lone Wolf and Cub, do some drawing, be creative, etc. But I got a copy of Premeire today from work. wOOt. Now I can begin. Christ, everyone must be so sick of hearing me say that. So tonight I rip vob files (I think I got a DVD ripper to work. Finally.) And maybe start editing. I think I need the Premeire vob plugins too, though. Will check now to see if Premeire's website talks about them at all.

Other cool stuff to check out:

There's two trailers to Lilo and Stitch there. Check them out. You'll pee yourself laughing. They're not what you think.
