JOURNAL: Bowler

  • I want my pizzas Deliverator'ed 2002-04-12 19:37:17 Mechaman: glad you liked the Snow Crash pics :) They're not just fanart...I submitted a video game concept a few weeks ago to one of the company heads where I work for a game based off of what YT does for a living...skateboard couriers! The Snow Crash art on my site is art from that pitch (which is why I didn't file it under fanart). I doubt they'll decide to use it, but what the hell. The art and text were just collecting dust anyway.

Hopefully I can remember to put some of my motion capture animations up on my site this weekend. I was hoping the quality of mocap might help change your mind, but it appears someone's already done my job for me :)

EK: I think you mentioned Portishead (I hope that's the right name for the moody spy-ish band) for a Big-O video at one point, but have you considered any of their stuff for your [official] KoHD vid?

p.s. LOVED the comic about snootiness (and I get it, too).

If I ever get around to making some AMVs, I was planning on using Quarashi's "Stick 'em Up" to make a fun highly kinetic KoHD vid, but

A). Quarashi's already getting wayyy too much airplay, and
B). I doubt the song hits on any of the seriousness of the film, and
C). By the time I get around to making it, there'll be 10,000 Quarashi "Stick 'em Up" vids.

But I might do it anyway. For fun. Or not.
  • No reply necessary. 2002-04-12 15:47:44 Just had to get this out.

    Evidently disasters come in threes.

    First Liz's car.
    Then Liz's job.

Now the insurance company wants to drop us. Right after I put both car policies on her policy and the house is on there too. For nothing more than an accident claim they want to drop us. Only one accident claim in seven years and they want to drop us.

They claim there's a ticket in there, too, but I had that ticket dismissed. Turns out the district court failed to notify the state court, which is where the insurance companies pull their information from.

So we're being dropped because of one ticket (which I'll *prove* is wrong on monday) and one $1,800.00 claim.

Why the fuck do I pay for insurance, again, exactly?
  • Fight Club vs. DS9 2002-04-12 09:18:06 Ami: Ha :) Fight Club and Matrix are probably two of my favorite movies of all time. Beautiful movies with surprising messages (although I have to admit that FC's message is more deep and thought provoking while Matrix is more beautiful). I need to pick up the Fight Club DVD and watch it again. I haven't seen it in awhile.

EK: That thing on quarks just makes me think that there's some point in space that has a shitload of Ferengi's tending bar. And they're all arguing with each other.
  • Nothing is static. Everything is evolving. Everything's falling apart. 2002-04-11 21:49:25 Ami: You're talkin' 'bout one of my favorite songs, there! I hope you're just repeating lyrics, and everything isn't *really* falling apart. That would be bad.
  • MASSIVE update. 2002-04-11 12:07:33 Well, not MASSIVE per se but there's four new images loaded into the Gallery.

Going to get my animation up there by this weekend, hopefully. I SWEAR! :)

"They mostly come out at night. Mostly."

kyburg: I'll mail that disk out to you this weekend, too. I've even got a color cover! ;)
