Ugh.
Call me Retardo Montoban. I tried ripping Sympathy for the Devil tonight. SIX TIMES. Because I *thought* I had told it to rip the first major .vob file on the disk. And I must have told it to rip the second one. So I proceeded on through the entire disk (rip, delete, rip, delete, rip, del-oh what the hell?!?!) only to find I missed it when I figured "Why not re-rip the first one again? I've already wasted 2 and a half hours!"
Again I say ugh. It doesn't help that I ripped the same episode twice by mistake, too. Just shoot me.
I could have had a huge section done tonight. Doh well.

Absolute Destiny: Don't know if you read this journal or not, but you pretty much described World War II Online (wwiionline.com) to a T.
It's a Massively Multiplayer (thousands of people on at the same time) Online War sim. You pilot a tank. You fly a plane. You run around as infantry. You man an AAA gun. All in realtime First Person goodness against real people all over the world.
I've been playing it for about two months now, and I love it. Graphically, it blows, and it definitely has its quirks and bugs, but it's the only game where you can be infantry, artillery, tank commander, or pilot and have nothing but humans on the other side of the game to shoot at. I personally play the Germans right now because the way the game is orchestrated, they're the underdogs (it's not exactly a Blitzkrieg when the Allies know you're coming), and their equipment isn't as good as the Allies.

Holy nuts.
I just worked for something like 4 hours ripping footage and editing for what amounted to roughly 12 seconds. O_o But it was the 12 seconds that I originally envisioned when I was thinking about doing this video, so it was a healing process of sorts.
I can't begin to tell you how f'ing GOOD it feels to be editing this video finally. It's cathartic or however that's spelled.
I could edit for hours more, but I need to sleep or I'll get fired for not coming into work tomorrow. I was hoping if I busted my ass I could have this done by Thursday, but that obviously is not going to be the case. So no showing this to anyone at Acen. At all.
But I'm going to take this wee 12 second clip to work to show it around, annoying the hell out of my co-workers who won't understand the significance of the clips or how they're edited together.
Sorry I wasn't able to get those animation clips up on my website. I'm going to hold off on that while I'm waaayyyyyy motivated to keep editing this vid. -

On the AMV tip, I'm going to spend ALL DAY tomorrow just trying to get an .avi clip converted from a ripped .vob file to work. Just one. If I can figure out this f'n ripping junk works, I'll be GOLDEN.
Oh, and I'm going to try and upload those animation clips, too. Honest.
