  • One hundred thirteenth entry - volume... 2006-03-06 21:57:53 Time - 8:39, Noise - Skillet - "My Obsession"

My brain hurts. Between the guys above me blasting their music at six gajillion decibels, and this incessant beeping out in the hall (because all of the girls on my wing are fucking morons and can't take care of it), I am seriously about to go PMS-ing on some hapless passerby. Good thing I keep myself locked in my room. : /

So, in order to lower my self-esteem a few more notches (we're pretty far into the negatives anyway, so I figure it can't hurt anymore), I decided to post a picture of myself on that crackjob "Hot or Not" site. I doubt I'll even get votes, but whatever.

On a more site-related note, I'm honestly beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to make another AMV. I really want to make a video to the game I'm working with, but either I find songs that have workable beats and the lyrics aren't good, or the lyrics work great but the beats aren't what I want. If I could just splice the two elements of these two songs I'm considering, it would be perfect. But I can't.

On top of it all, I have an early English midterm tomorrow, because my professor is a scatterbrained dipshit that didn't realize spring break was next week. Way to go, dumbass.

It would seem that I'm volatile to society right now, so I'm going to leave now.

Ooooh...I just had a funny idea. Gah....ha ha ha ha.

  • One hundred twelfth entry - AMV de Chocobo (Take 2) 2006-03-06 13:17:55 Time - 12:12, Noise - Alan Silvestri - "Pandora's Box"

Just to reiterate, the remastered version of 'How Happy You Made Me' is finally up. Whatever server problems were going on last night were obviously averted/corrected by the Almighty Derobert. The new version can be viewed here:

Also, if you haven't seen this video, you REALLY need to watch it. If you want AMV art defined, then this is the artwork to refer to. It helps if you know the anime Air, but it's a very moving video even if you don't.

Until I saw this video, I didn't even realize that this song was on the Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life soundtrack. And it's too bad, too, because I really like it.

Anyway, this entry was made for pimpin', and now that that job is done, so am I.

  • One hundred eleventh entry - AMV de Chocobo 2006-03-05 23:00:59 Time - 9:49, Noise - Aha - "Take on Me"

Well, if anyone is interested, I remastered 'How Happy You Made Me.' It's a little smoother (courtesy of Avisynth), the audio is a little better, and the resolution was brought down from 640x480 to 512x384 - again, to help smooth it out a bit. The original footage was 320x240, so you can understand why WMM2 upsizing it like that (and saving it as a .wmv on top of that...) would make the quality so low. Also, the new file is (obviously) an .avi.

I mainly did this as practice in using Avisynth, as well as to generally run through the whole encoding process in VirtualDubMod. Hopefully, my next project (if it ever gets done...) will benefit from this.

I've been noticing that a number of people have been having uploading problems, so I don't expect the .avi to be up right now (it'll probably still say .wmv). Yet, if anyone's interest remains long enough to endure dero fixing whatever has gone haywire, here is the link to my remastered video:

Anyway, this video has helped me learn quite a lot, and I want to keep learning more. My next few videos should be getting progressively better on a technical level.

If that does happen, I'll be content.

PS: I've had the strangest urge to make another Chocobo's Dungeon 2 video, even though I have no song for it. There's only about fifteen minutes of footage in that whole game, so making one decent video was tough enough.
  • One hundred tenth entry - general depression 2006-03-05 16:02:05 Time - 1:56, Noise - Coldplay - "The Scientist"

*sigh* I really wish I could cosplay, but I can't. Money isn't the issue anymore (although I need to be careful how much I spend, or it will be an issue.) It's just that they don't make clothes for people proportioned the way I am (AKA: fat people). Actually, to be fair, even when I wasn't overweight, I still couldn't find boots that fit ever. It's just the way my body is shaped. Lots of curves...no clothes (or shoes) to wrap around them.

So yeah...the reason I brought this up is because my friend is going to cosplay for ACEN, and she keeps prodding me every once in a while to do it, too. Today, she showed me a chick with the exact same hairstyle as me, with an outfit that I actually wouldn't mind wearing. For reference...

    http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/gallery/viewer.php?gid=t5drcg&pid=25

...anyway, I was actually receptive to the idea. And then I saw the boots. The idea had to be thrown out right then and there, because I simply can't wear boots. I have to have ones that lace up (which isn't in lieu [sp.?] with the design), and those are ridiculously expensive most of the time. So...there goes another potential cosplay - right along with Chi, because I'm just not attractive enough to pull that one off. I wouldn't mar her character with my disfigurement. : /

So now...I don't even like thinking about cosplay, or clothes in general. The most you MIGHT see me with at ACEN is a thin headband with some construction paper Chi ears attached. Or maybe one of those anime hats that my best friend seems so fond of. Beyond that, though...no thanks. I don't have enough self-esteem to do anything more.

And on that note, I think I've found a song for my new video (a better song, I mean; I already had one, but it was too repetitive to work as well). So, I'm going to give it a few more listens through (probably a LOT more, actually), and see if I can use it.

    And I'm off...!

  • One hundred ninth entry - Project Ayumix 2006-03-03 23:54:38 Time - 10:47, Noise - Katamari Damacy OST - "Katamari on the Rocks"

Seriously. If you haven't seen Project Ayumix, go watch it NOW. That is truly an example of how a multi-editor project should fit together. The flow of it is so fluid that you can hardly tell you're going into a new section, and the spectacular editing is completely engrossing. Yeah, I'm shamelessly pimping this MEP, but with good reason. It really is that great. Go watch, O Journal Junkies. You know you want to.

    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=108445

Yeah...that's all I have. I just wanted to pimp it, cuz I just finished watching it again (fullscreen, this time, because it honestly does make a difference.)

    If you haven't already, enjoy~!
