One hundred twenty eighth entry - 30 Seconds to Mars MEP
2006-04-07 18:36:14
Time - 5:21, Noise - the ringing echo of a multi-editor project...
So, I watched the 30 Seconds to Mars MEP...and it baffled me. The editing was great, but the transitions, both visual and auditory, were pretty bad. There was no "softening" whenever it went from widescreen to fullscreen, and the audio had no phrasing at all. It just seemed like the audio mixer made cuts wherever he wanted to. So, I have varied feelings on this one. Each individual section was a pleasure to watch, but string them all together, and it was less-than-stellar.
In conclusion...it's worth the download if you're into 30STM or want to see some awesome editing, but if not (or your connection isn't all that hot), you should probably just pass over this one.

One hundred twenty seventh entry - sometimes you just luck out...

...wow. I like eBay now. Since my friend is the one with the PayPal account on eBay, she's the one who buys stuff for the both of us - and I pay her back later, of course. Well, there was a mishap a day or two ago, in which she purchased an anime boxset for me and was shipped a boxset from a different anime instead. Well, she e-mailed the dude, and he responded by just telling her to keep that and that he would also send the one we paid for.
Freakin' sweet. A free anime boxset. ^_^ It's Comic Party...I don't know anything about that, but hey - free is free. Not like we're losing out on anything. Even if it sucks and ends up being unusable for an AMV, we can just...sell it on eBay~! Ja, ja, ja... XD
Also, I finally introduced my friend to deepdiscount.com, since I think she might be able to get some better deals there than on eBay for some things.
On a different topic, last night, I went to my very first ballet, which was awesome. They had three things: Cinderella (the main event), a snippet from Swan Lake (which is one of their next shows), and a third part called "The Offering," which was a stand alone performance that actually proved to be absolutely beautiful and even better than the main event. I'm so happy I went, because it was lovely. I wish I could watch that third part again. ;_;
I haven't been able to play Fatal Frame III much lately. I can only play it at night, because there's an unavoidable glare on my TV during the day. Since that game is so dark visually, if there's anything obscuring your vision, you may as well be playing it blind. I've tried turning the brightness up, but it's no good. So, since my nights have been occupied for a while now, I haven't been able to play it.
Hmm...I feel like there's something else I should be doing...but I can't think of what. So, I'm just going to pipe down and end it here. See ya, folks.

One hundred twenty sixth entry - general musings

Time - 11:15, Noise - Devil May Cry 3 OST - "Vergil Battle 2"
Actually, my compy has that track labelled as AudioTrack 24, cuz I was too lazy to rename it properly when I ripped it.
Well, I've made a decision. I'm not releasing any AMVs until I make one that isn't crap. Considering it's been nearly a year since I released my last full length one and I'm still not confident...this could be a while. ~_~
Still...it's kinda nice to just sit back and watch other people's work more than worrying about how my own is going over with the public. Not that I was ever that concerned. I started making AMVs long before I ever discovered this site, so the publicity is an added perk at best. And yet...at the same token, it would be nice to have something to share. I see all these newbies rising around me, getting far more talented than I'll ever be in such a short time, and it bothers me, just a little bit. Makes me feel like I'm not trying hard enough. Granted, I'm NOT trying hard enough, but it feels like it's getting rubbed in my face somehow. Just another day in my life, I suppose - feeling like I'm not good enough. Oh well.
And what's with all of these flip-flop MEPs lately? Seems like a lot of them have come out, and I've either loved or hated them - with the odd exception of the JJMEP, which fell on some middleground. But like...Ayumix, Demons Within...those were terrific. But yet, Navras was awful. And now I just learned that a project I was really looking forward to is dead. Seems like the ones I'm expecting and want to work turn out terrible, but the ones I have no interest in (or the ones that come out of the blue) are amazing. There have been entirely too many MEPs lately, anyhow, and all of the "regular" AMVs are either comedy or poorly-done serious pieces. Makes me want to do my newest idea even more fervently. Still, I have to be patient, and with the most recent setback that I just learned of an hour ago or so, it seems like I'll be waiting even longer. Turns out, the guy shipped out the wrong anime boxset. So, now I have to wait to have it sent back so I can get the one I wanted. Provided he didn't do this on purpose. Which is always a possibility. Because I trust no one. And I speak in sentence fragments. Which makes it more dramatic. Although typing in a large paragraph diminishes that effect. So I'll stop.
Hmm...still thinking of what anime to watch next. I'm probably gonna watch the couple of random eps from OAVs and stuff that I have. It would be good, so I can get them out of the way.
Well, I ran out of things to talk about, so I'm heading off to bed.
Brr...it's cold in here. Probably should close my window, eh?
