  • One hundred forty sixth entry - damn... 2006-06-07 21:18:18 Time - 7:11, Noise - the television...again...

Well, today was the day. We took my cat into the vet again. As expected, he had lost more weight, so we made the decision to put him to sleep. I cried more before they actually did it than after. It was fairly simple, really. They did an injection, and the vet tech said that he would be gone before they even finished injecting. It was... eerie almost. I couldn't even tell when he had died, and I was watching his face the whole time. Of course, I was a little bothered by how his eyes didn't close, but the techs covered him in a towel. They put him in a box, and we took him home and buried him in my backyard. My brother put a wooden stake in the ground as a grave marker.

It's weird. I can't remember a time when I didn't have Tony. I remember getting him - he was the runt of the litter, and fit in the palm of your hand - but I don't remember not having him before that. I guess it was a good run, though. He was fifteen years old, he never got majorly sick, he was well-taken care of, and he turned from a runt into a twenty pound wonder. I love my kitty, and it'll hurt for a long time, I'm sure. After all, this is the first pet I've ever had die. But at least he wasn't suffering at the end. And now he's curled up, buried right where the sun shines, and close to his favorite toy - the ring from a milk jug. If there's such a thing as a soul, I'm sure my cat's is happy.

I guess I should stop typing about this now. My eyes have been tearing up, and I think I've done enough crying today.

    --------------------------------------------------------

On a completely different note, I just donated twelve inches of my hair yesterday. It's the first time I've ever had short hair in my life (if you can call a length that still goes below my shoulders "short"). I don't mind it, but it gets in my way more. Admittedly, not having to use an entire palm full of shampoo is pretty nice. Ultimately, though, I'm growing it back out. My best friend wants me to cosplay as a certain game character for next ACEN - a person that would match the crazily complex costume she's putting together. I need very long hair for that, and it should be mostly grown out by next year.

In yet other news, my mom complained that she hadn't seen any of Kingdom Hearts II, so I decided to show her the game. I can only hold her attention for roughly an hour at a time, which isn't very workable for an RPG, but I'm managing. I'm trying to get one world done at a time, since most of them only take about an hour.

I played Onimusha a few days ago, since my brother is insisting that I play all four games out of the series. The first game is kind of tough, but I never died. I was planning on getting started on the next game in a few days.

Switching topics once more, since I have no internet right now (my brother needs to get the router from his ex-girlfriend), I've been keeping myself occupied with things on my computer that I've been neglecting. I finished my emulated version of Final Fantasy V. We own Final Fantasy Anthology, but I like having my speed up button. I also have FFVI emulated, but I haven't played it much yet. More than videogames, though, I've been playing around with some of my AMV-related tools. Ripping, cleaning, trying to figure out why the heck Resident Evil 4 is so damn temperamental with ripping. Stuff like that. I need to get the "on the go" version of EADFAG for my computer, provided it's up to date. Actually, I could just copy and paste the parts that I need, since I don't have them memorized quite yet.

So... I suppose I'll go do that, now, since this entry is getting really long.

    See you, people.

Well, I think my LJ sums up everything I planned to write here anyway, so I'll just link that.

Now it's time to distract myself...

  • One hundred forty fourth entry - Happy Birthday to Me! 2006-05-26 20:09:09 Time - 7:04, Noise - the television

Well, it's my birthday today. A whole year has passed. Another one to add onto the previous eighteen, I suppose. I got a couple of movies and a doujinshi that I was really wanted from my friend. My brother is taking me to a videogame music concert tomorrow in Rosemont (a part of Chicago, Illinois). So yeah. I'm looking forward to that.

*sigh* My time on the internet is limited until my brother can get the router back from his girlfriend, so I have to head out now. I think I'm gonna go watch one of the movies my friend gave me.

    See ya, folks. ^_^

  • One hundred forty third entry - *pets madbunny* 2006-05-18 01:25:40 Time - 12:22, Noise - Nickelback - "If Everyone Cared"

Eeep. Teh Bunneh seems like a scary teacher. Good thing I don't skip class. I had perfect attendance for three out of my four high school years~! *waves nerd flag around*

And with that... I need to go to bed.

    But I just remembered...

    <_<
    ...eight days 'til my birthday.

    Nighty night~! ^_^

  • One hundred forty second entry - finals 2006-05-17 16:42:01 Time - 3:16, Noise - distant beeping of the microwave on my dorm hall's wing...

Well... I finished all of my finals this morning. My zoology final, the killer one, was even harder than I thought it would be (if that's even possible o_O ). I calculated my points, and if I got every question right, the best I could possibly do is a 90%. Not great, but better than my chances have been on other tests so far. I mean, if you want to know the difficulty of this exam, here was the last question (worth 22 points).

"List and diagram all of the phyla (and subphyla) we have studied this semester, arranging them in order of phylogeny, and using these terms to describe them: coelomate, psuedocoelomate, acoelomate; protostomes, deuterostomes."

Or something like that. Now, maybe that question doesn't seem so bad to a science major, but this is a frickin' introductory course. And just about every question was like that. Thankfully, half of the test (the entire thing was worth 200 points) was multiple choice and matching, which was easy. I'm positive that I got all of the matching right, save for two concerning the stages of meiosis.

Now, I'd love to say that I'll get a decent grade on this, but seeing as how I haven't done better than a 76 on any test yet in that class... yeah. My optimism ran dry a long time ago. Oh well. I'll pass everything. That's the important part.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In other news, after I got home from my zoo final, I sat down and watched Perfect Blue, since I've been meaning to do that for a while now. It was good, but I was a little irked at the fact that I've seen so many multi-anime AMVs using it that I pretty much already knew the story going in. Still, I enjoyed it. It's a well-designed mind trip with a predictable, but properly written ending. Hey, if you have an hour or two to spare, go check it out.

Also, directly after that, I watched Level C. Don't quite know how I went from violent horror to gay pr0n, but whatever. Level C is... not what I expected. At all. It's actually more amusing than anything. I didn't find the sex scenes to be all that good, honestly. The whole thing goes really fast, too. It's like "talking-PR0N-talking-PR0N-talking-PR0N" and so on and so on. I said "WTF!?" out loud a few times. No lie. If you're really into yaoi anime, you might want to check this out. Or, if you just want something cutely comedic, it works for that, too. It's only a half hour long, anyway.

So... that's all for now. I have some videos to watch that I downloaded earlier, and then I have to start packing up my room. Tomorrow, I have a doctor's appointment, followed by more packing. On Friday, I get to disassemble my compy and disconnect my PS2 and TV. I get picked up later that day to go home for the summer.

    And...
    >_>
    <_<
...nine more days 'til my birthday.

    See ya!
