Hmm... I'm having an issue. I just can't find a song for my Parasite Eve video. I really want to do a PE piece, but if I can't find a song soon, I may end up scrapping the project.

The trouble with PE is that even the action scenes move very... slowly. I don't know how to describe it. There really aren't any sudden motions in the scenes. Aya always brings her gun up slowly to aim. Eve always moves her arms fluidly. Even the monster transformation sequences flow smoothly. Without some naturally sharp movements in the animation, it's tough for me to make an action video with PE.

I did find one or two songs that might just work, but I would need to get ahold of the CDs first. (Shame on me, with my downloaded copies and all. ;p )

After this video... I'm not sure. I was thinking of doing something for the Silent Hill series. I have a few songs in mind. What I really want to do are some X videos, though. Seriously. I have, like, half a dozen X videos that I have really vivid ideas for. Makes sense, though. It *is* one of my favorite anime. Oddly, I only have one really good idea for my number one favorite anime (that being Gravitation.)

Anywho, my mama made some brownies earlier, and a brownie 'n ice cream dessert is sounding mighty good right now. Maybe I'll scour my CDs more for some music afterwards.

    See ya, folks~<3

I think I've finally decided on a source for my next project. I know I said I'd be ripping DVDs - and I have been - but I don't think I really want to use anime just yet. I ripped Parasite Eve a couple of days ago, and now I'm in the process of cleaning up the video. I've also been playing around with making some of my own basic effects, so hopefully I can utilize some of them in my next project. I still haven't thought of a good song for PE; I mean, I do have one, but I don't think I really want to do it yet. I'd rather use a different song - maybe something more action-oriented?

I started a thread in the forums, trying to get some brainstorming for Avisynth filters for videogames, but I haven't had much success with responses yet. Like I said in there, the AV Tech guide is great, but most of its clean up suggestions are aimed at anime. You definitely CANNOT use the same filters for anime and videogames. So, if anyone has any thoughts, here is the thread:

In other news... well, to be honest, I don't have much in the way of other news. I haven't been out of my house in a while, and the things I do to occupy my days are only semi-engrossing. For example, I'm showing my mom Kingdom Hearts II one hour at a time, since her attention span doesn't last much longer than that. I've also been sketching occasionally. I still suck, but I enjoy doing it. Most of my time, though, has been spent either listening to music or making music (using the program Fruity Loops). I'm not very good at reading bass clef, so I have trouble laying down the notes on some of the sheet music I have. My saxophone is treble clef (in the key of E flat), and I never learned the piano unfortunately, so it's slow going when I want to transpose something. Of course... I'm not really sure that I need to transpose. When I did, it came out sounding funny. When I didn't, some notes sounded strange and other parts were okay.

So... meh. I really wish I had been a music major, but I'm terrible at playing instruments as it is (I was never able to pick up any other instrument besides my alto sax). Even if I understood the theory part of it, without some degree of performing skill, there's just no point in choosing that as my major. Instead, I chose language, because I enjoy it and I'm pretty good at it. I'm majoring in Spanish, hopefully so I can be a translator, but I would like to learn other languages. My college is kind of small, so they only offer Japanese every other semester. I think I'm just going to wait 'til after I'm out of college to learn it. You know, take a night class or something. Negating that, I guess I could pick up German or French. French would be easy after learning Spanish. But anyway, the point is, I suck at music and it wasn't a logical career path for me, no matter how much I enjoy it.

Yergh. I guess I should quit now and actually get to something productive - like finishing my clean up scripts. Or looking for a song. That might help. : /

    Anywho, see ya, folks. *chu~!*

Yergh. So much crap has been happening lately. Every member of my family is out of a job, my cat got sick and had to be put to sleep, and to top it all off, my mother was just in the hospital for three days for severe anemia, and ultimately, a stomach ulcer. There's $4000 we'll never see again. Hooray for no medical insurance. Totally. -_-

So things have generally sucked lately. Even my newest video is going relatively unloved. Speaking of which, I should probably pimp that again.

The game is Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly and the music is HIM's "Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly." So obvious you didn't see it coming. ~_~ It's my first full video in a year, since I've learned a crapload of technical stuff. It's also my first video with my new editing program - that being Magix.

jubs gave me the first opinion on it - thank you, love. As far as other comments go... all of the forumfolk gave me positive comments, and I've only gotten three quick comments, two positive and one unrelated. And while praise and encouragement is good and all, not a single person has told me anything wrong with the video. Until I get the internet on my own computer and repay the opinions I owe yet, I can't make an opinion exchange thread. As such, I guess I probably won't be getting many comments on the video for quite a while. Either way, I feel good about it, and I'm hoping to get started on another video soon. Right now, it's a toss up between a PS1 game or an anime. The PS1 game is something I've been meaning to make a video to for a long time now, and the anime is THE video. "The One That Must Be Done." Yeah. That one. I'm not sure if I want to put THE video into motion yet, but I'm worried that I'll lose some of my enthusiasm for it if I wait TOO long.

So... it's in the air. I want to get started on a project soon; I just don't know what.

And with that, I'm out of here. See ya, folks.

    Er... made a new video...

Alternatively, you can check out the forum thread, but I don't really say anything of notable interest there. Just a place to drop some comments, if you like. After a year-long hiatus, I think I'm a bit rusty at this...

    Thanks, Raven. To be honest, I'm pretty similar to you. I wasn't planning on having children, so I wanted a lot of pets (preferably cats) when I finally got a place of my own. Unfortunately, this means I have to wait three to five years until I'm out of college. After that, though, I'm planning on getting any/all of my cats from the Humane Society. Kittens are nice, but if somebody doesn't take the older animals, many places just put them to sleep. I hate that idea, so I'm probably going to get ones that are older or already past the "kitten" stage of life. And I'm not hard to please either. I fall in love with most cats - and animals, for that matter - that I see. In fact, my mom and I have a running joke. Everytime we see something cute on TV, we say that we're going to get one and keep it in a certain room. Of course, now we've filled the house with imaginary pets, so we're "doubling up" and pairing animals in rooms with other ones we think they wouldn't eat or be eaten by. ~_~;;

Like I said, I love animals, but I couldn't do your job. Getting to be with people's pets all day would be fun, I think, but euthanizing them isn't something I could handle. I'm glad I was there with Tony at the end, but... I hope it's an experience I don't have to repeat or deal with for a long, long time.

So... yeah. I have a friend visiting soon, so I guess I should stop with this entry. Besides, I need breakfast. My stomach is gurgly and stuff.

    See ya, folks.
