Yup. That right there is my favorite song. I have a hard time picking favorites, but that one is definitely at the top. It always has been since I first heard it years ago.

So, I've been seeing a lot of people post their downloads and bandwidth usage recently. Honestly, I'm not sure where you people manage to rack up so many downloads from. Well, maybe it's because you all use anime and I use videogames. My sources aren't as popular as pretty much any anime on the site. Oh, and if you're curious...

    All-time usage totals: Downloads = 1418; Bandwidth = 48.1 GiB

Oh well. Videogames are my specialty. It's just what I DO. If that means less downloads, then I'm okay with that. After all, the whole point is to make what you like, right? But still... I feel a little silly celebrating the fact that another one of my videos finally scored over 1000 hits. Not that hits mean anything. Downloads are what matter, and only one of my videos even has over 200 of those.

Let's see... for other stats... I've received 47 opinions for twelve videos, one of which has no opinions on it at all (that being my sixth video created, but the first that was uploaded to the site). I have finally given 100 opinions on the dot. Lucky number one hundred went to none other than Iron Chef Idol 3.

The video of mine with the most opinions - that being ten of them - is 'Evolution or Mutation?'.

The video of mine with the least opinions - that being zero of them - is the 'Video Game Compilation Project.'

Thirty of my opinions given have not received responses. Obviously, this means that seventy have.

My latest video ('The Chosen Two') has received nine quick comments, four of which were unrelated spam. I've probably received about twenty five quick comments since the system was implemented - but that's just an estimate.

Five of my videos only use a single anime as a source.

The video of mine with the most sources - that being 19 - is 'Singled Out.' It uses as many games that I have played as I could get ahold of footage for.

Three of my videos are in .avi format. Nine are in .wmv.

The video with the smallest filesize - 7.5 mebibytes, according to Local - is 'Experimental Premonitions.'

The video with the largest filesize - 68.7 mebibytes, according to Local - is the 'Video Game Compilation Project.'

The video that gave me the most trouble was 'Walk Away in Silence.' It went completely corrupt when I was nearly finished. I wasn't able to add clips to the timeline, and I ended up having to remake the video from the beginning in a new project file.

The video I had the most fun making was 'How Happy You Made Me.' It was lighthearted, fast, and cute. Oddly, it's also the video with the lowest star rating. On a stranger note, my very first video has the highest star rating. o_O

My most artistically challenging video was 'Evolution or Mutation?' I wanted something surreal, dark, and even a little disturbing. It was the first video where I adopted patterns of editing - meaning, when things like the chorus repeated, I edited the clips the same way as the first chorus, except with different scenes. 'E or M?' is also my favorite video.

My most technically challenging video was 'The Chosen Two.' I ripped from a PS2 game for the first time, I used a whole new editing program, and I actually did the pre/post-processing as per the guides.

I am currently working on a Parasite Eve video - to what song, I won't say. I intend to do one more game video after it, and then possibly another if I can find the right song. After that, I really would like to do an anime video - to what, I don't know.

I discovered this site just after finishing my fifth video (I think), and didn't upload anything until I had finished my sixth.

While I have been a part of the site since the December 22 of 2003, I did not start posting on the forum until August 22 of 2004. I didn't upload anything until March 3 of 2005.

I have downloaded 3130 local videos totaling 146 GiB and have posted on the forum 1012 times. My average star rating given is 3.00 even.

I have posted in my journal 166 times, and I have 31 people on my buddies list.

And... being as this is my journal, I think I'll end on that point. ^_^

    So many stats...

  • One hundred sixty fifth entry - Negroid pleaze? 2006-07-25 20:57:45 Time - 7:48, Noise - Hybrid - "Finished Symphony"

Another weird one, similar to the last:

    2006-07-25 17:37:00 NEGROID PLEAZE - SF

Can't say I understand that one any more than the last. However, if my super initial reading powers are up to snuff, I'm going to assume Super Fusion wrote that. *shrug* Not that that helps me interpret it any.

So... yeah. Didn't edit like I was planning to. Don't know that I'm going to do it at all now. Oh well, I'll get back to it eventually.

Hmm... maybe I should poke my head into IRC for a while.

    See ya, folks. ^_^

  • One hundred sixty fourth entry - QCs and future projects... 2006-07-25 16:18:30 Time - 2:49, Noise - Fatal Frame 3 OST - Ending Theme

...yeah. I just call it the "ending theme" because I can't read Japanese and don't know what the actual name of the song is.

So... I got a rather interesting quick comment today:

    2006-07-25 12:37:12 nigga please

...? Thanks? I don't usually get random spam comments - in fact, I hardly get quick comments at all - but my latest video seems to attract them. It's weird. Anyway, I'm not upset over it. Like with the last quick comment, I'm just more confused than anything.

So... editing... yeah. Haven't been doing that. I haven't been gaming either. I find that my days are spent just lurking about on youtube (which, by the way, is something I had nearly never done prior to two weeks ago), or browsing deviantart (which is bulking up my fanart collection to an even MORE ridiculously high number). Either way, it's not particularly productive.

The video I'm working on just isn't turning out like I thought. Strangely, though, there's not much I can think of to make it better. I guess I'll just have to see how it turns out. I can't exactly start another project right now. Hard drive space is kinda tight from the number of other clips I have ripped. I want to do a video with anime, but I keep remembering game videos that I want done. In fact, the one after this will be a game video. Well, it doesn't matter anyway. Nobody'll watch that video, anyhow, because it uses such an overplayed source. Still, I want to make it.

Of course, it's incredibly useless to talk about my future videos, since I refuse to divulge the source in most cases. Sorry. For some reason, telling people about my furture works jinxes me out of doing them.

Well, I'm gonna take a shower, and then maybe I'll try to edit for a while.

    See ya, folks.

  • One hundred sixty third entry - new vids and forum antics... 2006-07-23 17:55:21 Time - 4:33, Noise - nothing...

If you know me, then you know that I always peek at the "new vid on the block," just to see what it is. The description on the latest one amused me, to be honest:

"I like this AMV. Please leave me comments."

...wow. Straight, to the point, and covers the personal thoughts and wishes of nearly every editor on the site. It's also incredibly uninformative. Honestly, I can understand if you put "fill in later" in the video description, but to just have THAT and only that? It's pure laziness. A lack of comments tells me that you don't care about your AMV, and I'm certainly not inclined to *leave* any comments. No, I'm not asking for the entire backstory on the video. I just want a few sentences that say something to the effect of, "Hey. I made this Naruto video. Such and such part of the video is my favorite. I used this song for whatever-it-is reason. I used so-and-so program, and it took me about x number of days/hours. Thanks for reading, and I hope you like it! If you have a minute, could you please leave an opinion?"

Honestly. Is that such a demanding thing? It doesn't take that much effort. Then again, neither did your video, most likely. : /

Well, that's just my rant. There are a few things I'm a stickler for on this site, and that's one of them. Responding to opinions is the other big thing.

I've been noticing something strange and upsetting lately. It seems like I keep getting snapped at or rudely corrected with a number of the threads in the forums. It's irritating, because I'm not sure what I've done to deserve it. I swear, it's like I say "Hiya! ^_^" and people want to start a war with me now. The thing that annoys me the most is when people post JUST to contradict me, and then they don't contribute anything else useful to the thread. Actually, that annoys me when anyone does that to anyone else. It's even worse when they continue to spam the thread with their petty argument, instead of taking it to a PM like they should have.

Seriously, guys. Winning an argument with a stranger on the internet does not make you look macho or intelligent. An argument of fact is one thing, but you'll never be able to force yourself on your opponent in matters of opinion - and I've just about had enough of people going against each other just for the sake of doing it. Of course, it's an epidemic with no cure, but I can dream, can't I?

  • One hundred sixty second entry - huh...? 2006-07-21 12:59:41 Time - 11:40, Noise - Fatal Frame II OST - Tsukiko Amano - "Chou"

Uh... are you sure you left this quick comment on the right video? Or the right site, for that matter?

<<You have no fan base. Your unoriginal writing just contributes to the pages and pages of fantasy garbage that has already been written. You should just give up writing now. You will never make it as a writer, not only because your're a poor writer but because you're just recycling overdone works that were trash to begin with. This is why the fantasy genre is relegated to the weirdos and nerds who want to escape from the responsibilities of daily life. There aren't any interesting or original ideas...it's all about elves, gnomes, magic, saving the world from great evil...ITS ALL THE SAME SHIT. So yes, you're a total hack and the writing community would be much better off without you. Oh, and on a sidenote you're also a complete attention whore. I saw your forum and in several places you were practically begging for people to "show you some love". You don't want feedback, you just want praise. The only reason a respectable writer would put together a forum like that is to try and get feedback from their fans. You on the other hand just want to hear people say they like your writing. It's no wonder you haven't heard anything, YOU'RE A SHITTY WRITER. So please do us all a favor and get a job at your local McDonalds. That way you'd be contributing a whole lot more to the world than with your writing.>>

Okay, for sanity's sake, let's break this down...

    <<You have no fan base.>>
Did I ever claim to? I think not.

<<Your unoriginal writing just contributes to the pages and pages of fantasy garbage that has already been written. You should just give up writing now. You will never make it as a writer, not only because your're a poor writer but because you're just recycling overdone works that were trash to begin with. >>

Blah, blah, blah... several redundant sentences repeating the same thing that could have been said in five words: "you are a bad writer."

<<This is why the fantasy genre is relegated to the weirdos and nerds who want to escape from the responsibilities of daily life. There aren't any interesting or original ideas...it's all about elves, gnomes, magic, saving the world from great evil...ITS ALL THE SAME SHIT.>>

It was at this point that it occured to me that this person probably typed this in the wrong quick comment box. Either that or they wanted to flame me but didn't read any of my stories, since NONE of them are about any of that stuff. The only four stories I've ever distributed online were all about the game Devil May Cry.

<<So yes, you're a total hack and the writing community would be much better off without you.>>

More insults that could have been contained in "you are a bad writer." Moving right along...

<<Oh, and on a sidenote you're also a complete attention whore. I saw your forum and in several places you were practically begging for people to "show you some love". You don't want feedback, you just want praise. The only reason a respectable writer would put together a forum like that is to try and get feedback from their fans. You on the other hand just want to hear people say they like your writing.>>

Okay, now I *definitely* think they dropped it in the wrong box, on the wrong site. I have never, ever posted on a forum about my writing - nor have I ever asked for feedback on it. The only person I ever ask to read my writing is my best friend, and that's because she's my beta tester.

<<It's no wonder you haven't heard anything, YOU'RE A SHITTY WRITER. So please do us all a favor and get a job at your local McDonalds. That way you'd be contributing a whole lot more to the world than with your writing.>>

Are we back on this again? Honestly, did you never even think of "you are a bad writer"?

    Now, uh, I hate to sound like an 'attention whore', but could I get a comment on the VIDEO, maybe? ^_^;;

Thanks, though. I needed a good laugh this morning. Besides, I don't know if anyone on this site would know where to find me anyway to look at my writing. I was bitching about my main site earlier in the year, but I try to keep AMV and fanfics separate - and fanart, for that matter.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure this person just commented to the wrong user, or he or she was just trying to get me riled up with a random flame. Either way, I'm more confused than anything.

So... on that note... I think I might go write for a while...? XD
