Gee, I just love how members who are still just newbies themselves think it's okay to pick up n00b-snobbing already.

    : /

Seriously. You're pissing me off, people. I'd say I was losing respect for some of you, but hell if that concept counts for anything anymore, "real" life or not. Never forget that the only reason you newbies were accepted here was because the previous generation *allowed* you to be here. So the next time you want to post pointless, USELESS two words phrases or IBTL images, think twice.

And not a damn word of that "Internet. Serious business" bullshit from anyone. Everything you do is "real life." All of it matters, all of it shapes your personality, and all of it factors into how others view you. The more close-minded snobbery and attitude issues you spew forth, the less inclined people will be to meet you in "real" life. It all comes back to you whether you choose to believe it or not.

One last thing: the n00bs joining aren't what make the site suck, as you all seem to think. It's the way you treat them. If you could step back, take a few breaths, and have some patience with them, things wouldn't get out of hand the way they do now.

In short, I'm disappointed in the site members lately. Very disappointed. And the worst thing is that no one will ever care. You'll all keep right on doing exactly as you've been doing, regardless of what I've just put here.

So, go ahead and keep dragging the site down with your behavior. You'll see where it gets you before too long. Meanwhile, I have better things to do than bash n00bs at every chance I get - like playing a videogame. Which is exactly what I'm going to do.

  • Three hundredth entry - THIS. IS. JOURNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! 2007-04-05 19:29:29 Time - 6:18, Noise - Parasite Eve OST - "Femmes Fatales"

And to commemorate three hundred entries of ranting, raving, pimping, storytelling, fangirling, and living in general, I give you this:

    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=38982

The first thread on the first forum of the first site I ever joined. Oh, those were the days. I was an enthusiastic n00b back then. Now I'm a cynical n00b. Is it possible to be a n00b and a Deweloper at the same time? I wonder.

It was pretty crazy, the response I got for that. And I'm sure that there are a few posts in that thread that will embarrass me, but I think it's fun to look on the past and share the good things with people. And that was a good experience.

Anywho, I don't want this to be an extended gush-fest this time, so I'll leave it at that. Happy 300th!

    See ya, folks.

  • Two hundred ninety ninth enty - I feel drained 2007-04-03 15:02:00 Time - 1:23, Noise - Eve 6 - "Inside Out"

Anybody actually remember that song? It used to be one of my favorites. Can't think of a damn thing to do with it AMV-wise (the lyrics are weird), but I really liked it.

While I've been recovering the files on my computer, I've been running into things like that. Songs I forgot I liked, priceless pictures that I had forgotten, and some really terrific AMVs that had made my permanent collection, but I hadn't watched them in ages. So, I've been going back and "reliving the past," so to speak.

This inspired me to go back and relive games as well. Tomb Raider IV, Final Fantasy IX, my Yu-Gi-Oh! GBA game... stuff like that. It's very nostalgic.

About a month 'til ACen, and another few weeks after that is my birthday. Not to mention the end of my sophomore year in college. Scary, but exciting. I'm excited about ACen, scared of finally putting a "2" in front of my age, and a bit worried about finishing this year of college. I haven't exactly been the best student this semester. I need to start working harder to bring my grades up.

I'm about halfway finished with my video. I keep considering asking someone to beta test it, but I come to a few roadblocks every time.

    1. I want this video to be a complete surprise to everyone. (That's not to say that it's particularly challenging to edit and I think I'll impress anyone. I just like randomly popping out videos that will pleasantly surprise people.)

    2. I would only want ONE beta tester. Meaning, that person would have to be willing to come back later when I get the "finished" version ready to be viewed.

    3. If you don't know the song, and especially if you don't know the anime, you're not going to feel the emotional connection that I'm trying to evoke. Meaning, I'd have to find someone who fit one of those two. That ruins #1 pretty quickly if I have to tell a lot of people what I'm doing in order to find a good beta tester. I can think of one person offhand who knows the anime and would be willing to test - problem is, that member hates the anime. Not much help to me.

I'm not looking for someone who will praise my video. Just the opposite. I want a real nitpicker, but having someone familiar with my sources is going to give me a good idea of how this appears to the people who would be downloading the video. I guess I don't really know about the general populace, but I download a video first based upon the anime that is used, then the music, then whether or not I know the creator. So, assuming the average downloader thinks like I do, most of the people watching it will know the anime.

But I'm probably overthinking this way too much. It's just a video. If it put in my best and I'm happy with the result, what do I really need a beta tester for?

Still... it'd be nice just to have someone watch the video just before I submit it. A tester for the technical errors, if you will. That's always helpful, no matter who you are or what the video is.

In any case, I just watched my beta of what I have so far, and it's lookin' good. Definitely something I'll be happy with if I keep on going the way I am. ^_^

With that, I'll be heading off, probably to edit (since I'm inspired now).

    See you, folks.
