  • Three hundred ninety first entry - weird... my other title got cut off 2007-11-04 20:09:17 Time - 7:03, Noise - Alias and Tarsier - "Rising Sun"

Just wanted to get some new videos out there that you may have missed...

New VGMV that many have seen, but it deserves recognition nonetheless:
    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?vid_id=151078

Waitaminute. Good Linkin Park/Evangelion videos exist? Apparently so.
    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=152084

Captures Lain-esque weirdness like... well, every other Lain video out there, I guess:
    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?vid_id=151884

KH video with some tech issues, but has great sync and mostly pretty video quality:
    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?vid_id=151996

Surprisingly good Elfen Lied video with a near-perfect song choice:
    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?vid_id=152044

Some CCS to make you smile:

And with that, I'm not gonna go on any longer. I have a videogame I'm getting ready to show my RA in about an hour, so I'm gonna make sure my files are set up properly for that now.

    See you, folks! <3

  • Three hundred ninetieth entry - gotta start my next 2007-10-31 16:18:53 Time - 3:50, Noise - Nine Inch Nails - "Right Where It Belongs"

Ah... I love that song. Gotta make a video for it someday. Someday. I have so many NIN ideas that it's not even funny. I think I'm gonna end up just weeding out all of the ones I'm questioning even a little bit and only edit the couple that really stick out. Otherwise, it'd be like editing a NIN multi-editor project... without the "multi" part. >_>

Anywho, I guess I should say Happy Halloween since it IS my favorite holiday, but on campus, it's just not much fun for me. Everyone uses the holiday as yet ANOTHER excuse to drink, as if they weren't going to do that on every other fucking day anyway. Setting that aside, I didn't even see that many folks dressed up today. I saw some random faculty member in a costume, the older married couple in my French class had masks (and gave out candy to all of us, yum yum), and the guy in my Japanese class was dressed up. His amused me the most because he always makes all of his own clothes - and I'm not talking about a t-shirt and jeans. That would be *normal* for him. No, he regularly wears medieval style shirts, kilts, and anything else he gets an idea to sew up. (This is the same guy who occasionally walks around campus barefoot, is native to Russia - but has no accent - and is very, very polite to people, especially girls.) It's interesting to say the least. Well, today, just because he couldn't really think of a way to "dress up" from the norm, he decided to be a bar wench. His hair was tied back, he was wearing a pearl necklace, just a pinch of make up, and a long, green, medieval style dress. He was actually kinda cute in the whole outfit. It made everyone smile, and my Japanese teacher got quite the kick out of it as well.

Oh, and the man in my French class who was handing out candy... when the basket came around to me, I just grabbed the first thing my hand landed on. And what shape did the Halloween confection take? Let's just say...

    /Spider Princess XD

I'm not sure I can eat it. It's too cute! o.o

I got an idea for a very subtle costume, but unfortunately, I got the thought halfway through the day today, so it doesn't do me much good now. (I don't do parties of any kind, so no one would see it if I did it tonight.) I was thinking of just putting a dark-ish red nail polish in streams down one side of my face, starting from some origin point at the hairline. Has the subtle effect of looking like I'm bleeding from a head wound (and thus befitting Halloween) without me actually dressing up. I wish I could say, "I'll do it next year," but I'll be in Spain then. Whoops. Maybe I can use that trick for my ACen costume. I'll have to try it on a weekend and see what it looks like. (I figure nail polish is better than that fake blood, because it's less likely to come off.)

That all reminds me of something I did... what was it, freshman year of high school? Must have been. My senior friend Kersten (the girl should have been a fashion designer/make up artist) noted how I was lamenting the fact that I wanted to look like a zombie on Halloween, but my costume just looked goth. So... she ran to her locker, grabbed her "kit," came back and proceeded to redo all of my make up. She eventually added in a very real-looking slash mark right at the throat and put in fake blood (which she deemed as "the good stuff," because it apparently looked more real) dripping down the collar. I have to admit, it was a damn good costume. What was more amusing was that she did it halfway through the day, so people who had seen me previously during school did a double take when they saw me again.

It actually ended up ruining the white shirt I was wearing that day, but I didn't care. A really good zombie look is worth it. :D

So enjoy your night of costumed fun and overbearing amounts of sugar everyone. I gotta go waste this day the same way I do any other day, but I'll be cheering you all on in the back of my head... somewhere. >_>

    /me exits gracefully

    See you, folks.

  • Three hundred eighty ninth entry - more decisions... 2007-10-29 22:53:52 Time - 10:33, Noise - some random OC remix

So, I have a few options...
    1. Keep as is: random action and character intros. They say there are too many cuts and it's too dizzying. Okay, fine, I can agree with that. I went for oversync originally, and likely it looks that way. This was to ensure I had enough cuts to qualify to myself that I was, in fact, editing action. I'm not shy about removing some of them for coherency's sake. I know where to do it, too. But I'm not getting rid of all of the quick cuts. Not all of them, because I like the way some of them look, dizziness be damned.

    2. Keep the same general scene selection, but remove some cuts. Slow it down a pinch, as it were. Also a fine idea. I can live with that. It'll take some of the "action" out of the action, but maybe if people can better see what's going on they'll take more interest in the segment and see the sync better.

    3. Change the scenes around to just focus on Soki. That's simultaneously an "ergh" moment and a "that might help..." moment, because quite frankly I don't want to go around changing up the scenes anymore, but if it'll get me a more coherent story, maybe it'll be better in the end.

    4. Stay within the same scenes, but shift the focus to the side character and Soki instead of the side character and the demon onscreen. Also kind of an "ergh" because it requires reworking the entire video.

The only guaranteed parts I'd be keeping are the opening and the ending. Everything from 0:20 to 0:57... kaput. More or less. But to be honest... when I actually sat down to do it, none of that took *that* long to edit. It's just a matter of being motivated enough to do so.

I won't edit anymore tonight. I have other stuff I gotta do, and if I try to do anymore now, I'll end up running over my bedtime. That wouldn't be good. Math class is a very bad class to be tired in.

    So I'm off now.

    Nighty night, folks.

  • Three hundred eighty eighth entry - But Chris is...! *poc!* 2007-10-29 00:34:18 Time - 12:24, Noise - Silent Hill 2 trailer music/noise

    Tedium, tedium, tedium...
    Tedious work is tedious...
    La la la la laaaaaaa...

I want to edit... but once I open up Magix...
My roommate will show up... I just know it!
    She always does....................

Why is all of the best SH2 music in the trailers with the vocals overlaying it? I think Akira Yamaoka is trying to gyp us...

I played Intelligent Qube yesterday... but I died on the sixth stage...
    My IQ was 326...

    I'm tired, but... I don't wanna sleep.

More tedious work, maybe? Or some Magix? Hmm.

    Decisions...

    Decisions...

    Nighty night, one and all.

  • Three hundred eighty seventh entry - noise and musing 2007-10-26 20:18:36 Time - 6:37, Noise - holophonic sound

Holophonic sound. Fascinating. MAKE SURE to wear headphones and turn up the volume while listening to this or the effect is lost.
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/twu73j

My roommate spent thirty minutes getting dressed. She's tried on a black top on four different occasions now, and she never wears it because it never matches everything else in her opinion. She changed her top two times, and her jeans once. She won't wear her ballet flats with jeans because you can see the top of her foot. She won't wear a silver and black necklace with a silver and black top because it's "too much." She wet her hair down four times and hairsprayed it three times. She sprayed the top of her head with perfume and the rest of her body with glitter spray (which is strong and scented, and she used a lot). Her phone went off at least fifteen times in that time frame, which slowed her down.

My eyes sting a bit and I can't get the smell out of the room. I'd like to hurt her, but it's her birthday, and the more-than-usual obsession is forgivable. Today.

I edited today. Hooray. I'll edit more after I'm done with this. Double hooray.

I has an apples. It's yellow. The yellow ones are the best.

I wonder if I should scan in those photos... I have a few pictures of me in my show choir dress my freshman year of high school. One of them is pretty cute, and I was considering sharing it. I'd have to ask Roanne, though, since my printer/scanner is at home. Didn't see the point in bringing it when I could use the school's printers - and I really didn't think I'd use the scanner. Guess I was wrong, because I've had the desire to scan stuff in on multiple occasions. *shrug*

Can't stop listening to the holophonic sound. o.O

    See you, folks.
