Videos are Still Up

I had some technical issues for a few days, so the videos weren't available for download. They should be back up now, though.
And no, I wasn't shut down by anyone. My power supply just went and died. -

Hmm. My ISP seems to be a little upset about my bandwidth usage. I don't think this has anything to do with my videos (downloads were much higher in October and they didn't complain), but I've no idea what'll happen. I might just create smaller DivX files and remove the mpegs. That'll be fun, with my codec issues.
As for the actual making of music videos, I've got one in the works. This one isn't getting rushed through, though. In fact, I'm barely able to put together 15 seconds a day. Being that the song is more than five minutes long, this is going to take a while. The effort should be worth it, because what I have managed to make seems pretty damn good (by my standards). The other "great" video idea I had is still on hold for DVDs to arrive, although I'm worried I might have lost the inspiration. Maybe I've just been playing it back in my head too much and gotten tired of it. -
There Goes My Birthday

November 5th, that's my date of birth. I'm one year older and I'd have to say I feel it.
There's work yet to be done, so no videos for a little while. I only wish I could devote myself exclusively to toying with video clips and music on my computer. Schoolwork takes precedence.
I do have an idea, though. A good idea. Actually, a great idea. At least, I think it's a great idea. I went sifting through some music and this one song just grabbed me and shouted, "I'm a video waiting to be made!" In fact, the video is so obvious that I've placed about 85% of the footage for it already in my head. I might have ignored my own decision to take a break from videos and gone ahead with it, but I don't have the source footage I need.
It'll be a flashier videos than previous efforts, largely because of the music. At the same time it was screaming at me that there was a video to be made, it also told me where all the transitions should go, and what they should generally look like. It's quite frightening, really. I don't think I'm going to make this video so much as it's going to use me as a medium to get made. Not that it's going to be easy. There'll be a lot of cutting at a few points, mostly closer to the beginning, and the end is just going to be insane with stuff going on. I'll need five separate video tracks for the end scene, I'm thinking.
Most importantly, it really gets a reaction out of me. At least, it does when I play back to footage I'm going to place in my head while listening to the song. I'm not imagining some of the footage like I have done on a couple projects in the past, either. It's all footage I know is there.
There. I think that's more than enough hype. Now everyone's going to hate me and scream, "just post the video!" Sorry. I'm just really enthusiastic. Really, really enthusiastic. I can't say what the video will be, though. It's more enjoyable if you don't know what to expect. Well, I will say it isn't going to be another action video. -
Disappointing Effort

Well, I tried and I tried. I wanted this video to work pretty badly. I liked the music, I liked the series, I wanted to make a video worthy of them. Unfortunately, the reactions from the previews were basically split. Half simply said it was good, the other two said it was a little weak.
It's really too bad. I like the first part of the video, but I have to agree that the later half is missing something. Unfortunately, I just can't think of what would fix it. I can't even focus on the video any more; I've been staring at the footage too long.
I'm going to take a break from making videos for a little while. Other aspects of life are more pressing, and I need to find some new ideas to bump up the creativity level.
Anyway, the latest video is posted. PLEASE, leave some comments on it despite the fact that I've disected it myself right here. Even if you're just going to tell me that you agree with what I've said (or that it's even worse than I think), I'd like to know what others think. - Waiting to Unleash 2001-11-02 21:50:01 For better or worse, I think the video's done. I still like the intro, but not as much as I did when I was hyped up on Halloween candy and sleep deprivation. I played mix and match with the later half and now I think the sequence isn't too bad. I'm getting a couple previews in now before I release it. If it doesn't score some coolness points I might just have to take it back to editing.
