Video Rendering

So I started Rendering Monday night. Was at 1000 before going to bed. Woke up and it was at 2000 frames of 9000. So I went to work and when I got home it was at 3000 frames of 9000. I went to bed. Woke up and the computer had crashed! argh! argh! Maybe I'll just start over on the project, I'm only 2 min, in to the 5 min. project. Sigh...
Oh and bought a new car yesterday. I had been in an accident a month and a half ago. My van was a 'total loss'. I had enough saved up to get a new car. I ended up getting a Kia Rio Cinco. Which looks like a mini-stationwagon. From a Mini-Van to a station wagon, I am the Soccor Mom. Problem being I'm not a mom, I'm not even married, and I don't like soccor. Anyways.
So I bought my car yesterday. I confussed the hell out of the finance person. He kept asking me how I would be paying for the car, and I kept telling him Cash. He would then ask me what sort of precentage rate am I getting, I would tell him Cash. He kept trying to find out how much of an interest rate I was getting so he could try and give me a lower rate. I explained I was going to write a check for the amount. He was still baffled, and wanted to know who I was getting the funding from. I explained yet again, I was paying cash. No financing no nothing. I actually had enough money in cash to just buy the car without having to worry about financing or monthly payments. He finally shut up and stated, "Oh Cash. I can't beat that." I just rolled my eyes.
I bought my car via Carsdirect.com which I highly recommend to everyone. The finance guy said I payed only 11 dollars more then the actual cost of the car. (That's the actually cost of the car the dealer has to pay to the factory, not the market price). Basically a thousand less then what I would have payed at a dealership. I got the options I wanted, they didn't have the exact color I wanted. They could have found it I'm sure but I just wanted my new car. I went down to the dealership and picked it up. I was hoping the paper work would have gone faster, but I guess they figured my car was a done deal, so they didn't get us into the financle officer till almost 9pm at night (we arrived at 7pm). I didn't leave till after 9:30pm, and so got home at 10:30pm and about crashed.
Yes for most of you people 10:30pm is not late. However I have to leave my house at 6am in the morning to get to work. So 10:30pm is late for me. Enough rambling. Oh and the car is a Silvery Greyish Blue.

My computer is snail speed, and just two years ago it was really good. <sigh> I've spent over 10 hours trying to render a 2 minute project in Premiere. If someone, ANYONE knows how I can allocate more memory to Premiere in Windows, let me know. (Just send me a private message in the forums).
The following ramblings is what I have to do to finish my projects for Yaoi-con.
Suichi's Question Vr.2
New DVDs coming in that need to be ripped (30min each), then converted to AVI (8 hrs each, I usually leave running over the night), then I have to work with each to get pieces to add to the video. Usually no more then 5 seconds long.
Cowboy Bebop (Kohd) - To add somewhere?
Trigun (Vol.1) - To replace the current Trigun scene.
Masquerade - Not sure if it's usable, but want to check.
Prince of Tennis - To add in the Toys area.
Sorceror Hunter - Must add Marron!
I also need to capture from VHS
New/Replacement Level C footage
Boku No Sexual Harsement
Fujimi Orchestra (I have it on one computer, but need to see if it plays on my other computer)
New/Replacement Song of Wind and Trees footage.
That's alot of work...
As for my other project. 'Corporate Sex Slave'...
That's the project that has spent 10+ hours rendering. I left it this morning and it had ran all night and was still at 2900 frames of 9000, argh!
Once I render the video/clips currently in the project, I'm going to recapture the source footage into something smaller. It's orginally from VCD but in the ripping I saved it into 720 size, which is just choking my Premiere. So I'm going to leave it at 350 size and then when Premiere exports it, it will scale it up to 720.
The good news on this project is that the lip synching is turning out very good. It's really the first project I've attempted to do actual lip synching. It's been a challenge because the characters don't just have open and closed mouth, but a few positions in between as well.
I'm also doing alot of extra timing in the video, and some fun effects. There is alot of effort being placed in this video, the sad thing being most people will never see it, or never want to watch it due to the Yaoi content. Oh well, I'm having alot of fun with it.

I'm sending 7 videos off to AWA this weekend. Figure I'll send them all at once in a big box. I'm sending 6 tapes (3 containing my videos, 1 tape per contest, and 3 being the blank tapes for the Professional contest.) I also just realized that I qualify for the Master contest now (with Suichi's Question winning 1st place at Shoujo-con), I wish I had time to make a new video to enter, but oh well, there is always next year. I'm currently working on re-doing Suichi's Question for Yaoi-con, so AWA is only getting the 'light' version that was shown at Shoujo-con. (I was hoping to finish it in time to send to AWA but life happens).
Anneke - Wah!!!!! 2002-07-25 16:12:15 I want to go to Otakon... :( Maybe next year I'll try arrange a vacation so I go to Shoujo-con, spend a week traveling the east coast, and then go to Otakon. It would be very expensive... I guess I should start planning now.

I don't have web hosting, but yesterday I had alot of people try and help me. A guy at work is going to see if I can get hosted on his son's web site (which is a big company thing). I also had someone want to Suichi's Question, and offer me Fuhijimi Orchastra and Boku No Sexual Harasement. Yeah! I have more footage for my Yaoi-con version of Suichi's Question.
I need to work on it. I picked up a bunch of CDs to put my videos onto but I know I'll have Suichi's Question finished soon, and so I should wait till after it's done to make a new CD of my work.
I ripped everything off the CDs I got at Shoujo-con, I'll be passing them out to other creators at the next convention I go to. Only thing coming up is Yaoi-con, and there isn't that many creators who go to it.
