EK, I'm actually a bit further than you...it gets even WEIRDER than where you are about 2 discs later. Actually, the part you just saw is the part I want to rewatch...because I have no earthly clue how Knives and Legato suddenly entered the story. I watched those episodes a looong way back.
I thought of the most incredible AMV idea during lunch today...and I don't quite understand why I didn't think of it before. Especially after watching the last little P.S. in Bebop (that's all the hint you guys are getting ^_^). Not a Bebop video though, I doubt I'd even be using any Bebop in it...and if you manage to figure it out, don't say it aloud :Þ
Too many other videos to do first though...ah well. I'll need to really refine my Photoshop skills if I don't want to blow this. Maybe it'll be done in time for AWA Masters next year...
And this idea gives me an excuse to re-buy a beloved old album that I lost a few years ago ^_^

The horror!

Ahhhhhhhh! paizuri, you left out the "beotch" in "Fuck the corporate world, BEOTCH"! The "BEOTCH" is the key!!!
Now I'll have to fight you. To the death.

Aborted video ideas...I killed these ideas before I even started:
1) Cowboy Bebop to "Crack Hitler" by Faith No More
Wonderful spy type music...with lines like "Got a gash on my head...and a grin on my face...and a shadow called danger."
Reason for abandoning: Too many Bebop videos. This one wouldn't have added anything to the mix, just an action video with a noir-ish edge to it.
2) BGC to "Brackish" by Kittie
Maxwell Murder, but much heavier, and 100% chicks. Chicks with guitars, chicks who scream, chicks in exo suits battling evil, etc.
Reason for abandoning: Thought I had an original song idea, but it's already been done to DBZ.
3) Child's Toy to "You Will Be a Hot Dancer" by Incubus
I still think this is perfect. Difficult to pull off, but perfect.
Reason for abandoning: No source :( I'd need LOTS of it...as in...the entire series, I think. Also, my Karekano video is going to be very similar to this anyway.
4) EL Hazard OAV 1 to "Save Me" by Aimee Mann
This video would not have been well-received or well-liked, and it would be nothing more than soporific to a crowd. But picturing this song to scenes from Michael Ko's Once in a Lifetime video made me all teary-eyed.
Reason for abandoning: Just never got around to it.
5) Karekano to "Momentum" by Aimee Mann
Yes, I was on a Magnolia kick for a long time (still LOVE that movie...). I liked how the angst and desperation of this song fit Miyazawa's school and social life..."I know life is getting short and I can't bring myself to set the scene...even when it's approaching torture, I've got my routine."
Reason for abandoning: Opted to do a more upbeat Karekano video instead.
6) Perfect Blue and ??? to "Andy Warhol Was Right" by Warrant
See earlier journal entry.
7) ??? to "Better" by Jay Lee
A hardcore song in the style of early Limp Bizkit and Incubus...good, energetic song to do a fight video to.
Reason for abandoning: Their drummer is unbearably bad. It's painful to listen to his nonexistent sense of rhythm.
8) Berserk to "Brainsaw" by Therapy? (the question mark is part of the name)
After watching the first episode, I thought this intense song about betrayal (with the screamed refrain "I'm in hell and I'm alone!") would be perfect for the relationship between Gatts and Griffith. It also had many segments with opportunity for wicked action editing.
Reason for abandoning: 2/3 done watching Berserk...it isn't what I thought it would be. At least, not yet...and even if it does return to the mood of the first episode, there wouldn't be enough appropriate footage.
9) Rurouni Kenshin + Various to "Butterfly" by smile.dK
The gimmick was going to be that all the different anime girls in the video would be in Tokyo looking for Kenshin. Kind of a Tainted Donuts sort of deal ^_^
Reason for abandoning: The DDR craze hit, and a handful of REALLLLLY bad "Butterfly" videos came out, most of them using Kenshin footage in some way.
10) A new Limp Bizkit trilogy to "Take a Look Around", "Rollin'" and "My Way."
KIDDING. KIDDING.
There we go. This must be what it feels like when my gf occasionally sends me a long email full of all the unfinished letters in her drafts folder (with the subject line "you have just been drafted").
Argh. I need to go to the (oh God no, please no!) *mall* tonight. It's finally starting to get cold around here, and I'm running out of appropriately warm work clothes...I'm basically on a 5-shirt cycle now, same shirts every week, but switching around the order. I hate clothes shopping...goddamnit. Probably going to run to Office Depot again during lunch...burned some more free CDs to give away at Anime USA, now I need some CD envelopes for them. Looks like I'll be getting my new assignment next week...just a few more days of sitting around doing nothing. I hope the assignment is in the RF Signal Generation & Reception group...not that that means anything to you.
Trigun started to get weird last night. I need to go back and watch episodes 11 and 12 again. I can't remember how Knives entered the story. Ah well, must wait for the DVD box set.
Berserk is finally starting to pick up. I'm really curious as to how the story gets from here (episode 16) to there (episode 1). Too bad, because I hear the anime never catches up to episode 1.
Key is...interesting. I wouldn't say enjoyable yet, but I'm just starting out, so we'll see.
There are 4 Gasaraki DVDs on my shelf that I haven't touched yet. Damn.

Philip Adkins: sorry for messing up the song...my gf sang it over the phone, so I was just trying to approximate it as best I could.
Relaxed last night...watched about 2 hours of anime. It's ridiculous how much anime I have lying around that I need to watch...Berserk, Trigun, Key, Inuyasha, Love Hina, FLCL (yes, still mostly unwatched by me), Legend of Black Heaven, Sakura Diaries...I'm borrowing all but Inuyasha from friends, so i feel obligated to hurry up and watch them so I don't hold onto them for too long. On impulse I also finally ordered the Pioneer region-free DVD player that I've been wanting for a long time...only $270 too, not bad at all I don't think. Now I'll be able to play those Romeo's Blue Skies DVDs when they finally come in.
My mom is totally freaking out over this anthrax scare. I can't even begin to the fathom the depths of dickless cowardice required for someone to strike back at a nation by attacking its civilians with a deadly disease. The Taliban's whole response to our retaliatory actions has reeked of childish petulance and spite. But I'm not a political person so I won't say any more on the matter.
Sigh...enough CNN.com...time to go read The Onion.

Happy birthday, EK!
I am currently lost in an agonizing haze of boredom. If this keeps up I might actually head over to the company library and read up on RF transmitters or something.
I stopped by my apartment today during lunch to clear up some silly fiasco involving my rent...evidently the idiots in the leasing office misplaced my payment, and then threatened to sue me for not paying my rent. Morons.
Anyway, after I got that out of the way I went into my apartment and sat on the patio for a while. The back of my apartment complex faces a forest, which means that when I'm sitting on my patio I am about 10 feet from the trees. It's actually rather nice, because I don't need to get curtains for my sliding glass doors. Anyone remember that scene in Fight Club where Brad Pitt is burning Edward Norton's hand with lye? When Norton attempts to meditate and thinks of a bright green forest...that's EXACTLY what the view looks like from my patio. It's almost eerie. Well...since I work 8-5, the only time I normally get to sit out on the patio and see the green forest in the light is when I'm home on the weekends...I realized, while sitting on my patio, that autumn has crept up on me without my noticing it. The last time I sat on the patio during a weekend afternoon...it was all green. That feels like ages ago now, which it probably is.
I'm gonna sear myself some tuna steak for dinner tonight. Yum.
