I was driving back to work from a delicious sausage-and-peppers-sub lunch when a video idea suddenly smashed me in the face so hard that a few of my teeth went tumbling down the back of my throat. I haven't been hit this hard with an idea, and with so much clarity, since "Faith." I had that video done a week after the idea struck me. I haven't been so excited about a video in a long long time...I want to go home NOW and work non-stop until it's done! Now the question is, can I wait over a month for the Trigun DVD box set? ;_; Then again, at this point I'm so jazzed that I'm strongly considering going out after work and buying the 6 DVDs I don't have (at retail price! o_0) just so I can start the video ASAP!
I wish I didn't have to do a Trigun video since there are so many out there, but it's IN MY HEAD...and it needs to get out or bad things will happen (think Ben Affleck at the end of "Dogma"). Even with all the Trigun videos out there, it would still be original, I think...and it's sooo...nnnngah...perfect!

Well, Anime USA was a lot of fun...it was really cool that we had so much AMV time on Friday and Saturday. Go to meet Omar Jenkins, who was very cool...and got to see a lot of the AMV people I already knew, like Jason, Joe, Kris, Duane, Nick, etc...
Starting that mosh pit during Jason's Deftones video fucking ROCKED. It was so damn funny when security came because they thought a fight had broken out.
You smartasses with the shirts: real fucking funny. Joe, I still need that link so I can get Leandra a copy.
Saw half of the Bebop movie, then my gf called so I stepped out. What I saw was kinda slow, but I liked the convenience store scene. I really like the fact that they stuck with the same character designs and general style as the TV series...in other words, they didn't pull an Escaflowne. Although it's only wishful thinking, I hope the R2 DVD has subs...because given the subject matter of the movie (biological terrorism), I can't imagine it being released domestically any time soon.
Wanna finish watching Berserk this week...and maybe play some more Ico. Can't wait to hit the gym tonight, it's been too long. -

I actually like Sam Adams OctoberFest...which is strange, because that makes it the only Sam Adams beer I like.
Sigh....after fearfully putting it off for a while, I saw Hearts in Atlantis today.
Good news: wonderful movie.
Bad news: It wasn't the book, which was 10 times better.
It seems to me that they threw out the majority of the book to make it appeal to a mass audience.
The book is 5 short stories connected through a few central characters and is mainly about how the Vietnam war changes the lives of the characters.
The first story is set before the war, the second set during the war, and the last three set after the war.
The movie is just the first story, which to me felt like just a prologue to the rest of the book. There's no mention of the war at all. Instead, it's about the Anthony Hopkins character, who is actually from Stephen King's Dark Tower world, but in the movie they make him a psychic who is being pursued by FBI agents.
Argh. I just ate a terrible dinner and I feel really incoherent. Basically, I enjoyed the movie in and of itself, but was sorely disappointed in it as an adaptation of a wonderful book. -

A post I made in the forum today reminded me of another aborted video idea...one that I came up with the very first week I started doing AMVs 2.5 years ago...one that I'd still love to do, but can't :(
And now that I've built it up, be ready to be disappointed, because it's silly:
Maison Ikkoku to "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" by the Beatles. God, it would be so perfect, and it would be so much fun to do. It would require a lot of twisting of footage, and a lot of taking things out of context...
Alas, the people at Viz are boneheads, and it doesn't look like I'll ever be able to get all the source at an affordable price.
Maybe I should drop all current projects and just do Beatles AMVs for a year. They've got so many incredible songs, and I've had so many ideas over the years...
Picking up Tim Park from BWI in about 6 hours, then driving down to Arlington for Anime USA. Got all my DDR gear packed! Sometimes I look forward to these conventions just as an excuse to play DDR :) I love the game, but I live in a second floor apartment...I tried playing it once, and my entire apartment started shaking...the stuffed skunk from my friend Cynthia fell off my desk from all the shaking, and that's when I knew I had to stop. Haven't found any DDR arcade machines in the area yet...found one HUGE arcade, so big it even had its own bowling alley and pool hall. It had every video game in the world EXCEPT DDR. I swear, if I could play DDR at home as often as I liked, I would be a fit and trim 175 lb without even trying. Instead, I have to go running...how boring. Joined the basketball league at work, that will be better.
Speaking of DDR, I need to post a question about that in the forums.

I didn't actually go to college with him...or drive with him down to AWA this year...or leave my ex-girlfriend drunk and passed out on his bathroom floor overnight two years ago (oops, did I say that?)...or do his mom (well, maybe *that* part is true ^_-)...
Yeah...he's just a total stranger. All his inane comments directed at me are really just one-handed rantings he's making while the other hand is somewhere it shouldn't be...
The forums have seemed really dead lately. Maybe this is the new rage.
btw, everyone...try looking up "paizuri" in a Japanese dictionary. Woo-ha.
