Hmmmm...great weekend. Thanks to Phade and Mrs. Phade for hosting a great rugby/cookout get-together Saturday! Good seeing Joe, Jason, Omar, Kris, Mary, Paizuri, and some non-AMVers as well.
Must have missed Joe's squirting sausage incident...I think I was in the kitchen cooking at the time or something. Jason was insatiable with those Woodys.
I'm still so sore I can barely walk...and a little sick too, probably because it started getting cold towards the evening, and I was still wearing short sleeves. Anyway, it was lots of fun, we'll definitely have to do it again!

Backfire, the Bull Run concert was the one I had tickets to...god I was pissed.
And Let Down is a very close call compared to Idioteque...but the point is moot, because Let Down came out in '97, so it's not in the running for best song of the new millenium ^_^ -

I found out yesterday that the hot water spiggot on the coffee machine in my new department actually works! So of course, I showed up at work today with a huge-ass mug and a box of assorted teabags. Rock! Good thing too, because it's fucking freezing in here.
Mmmm....3 packs of sugar in a big mug of Earl Grey in the morning, and I'm happy...
I spent $50 last night on Metal Gear Solid 2, and Metal Gear Solid 2, in turn, spent 3 hours handing my ass back to me. Why do I say that? Because it took me that long to get past what should have been the first 15 minutes of the prologue in Normal difficulty...and then I ended up being killed by the boss. Repeatedly. I must have spent over 90 minutes trying to kill that Russian bitch. The game let me continue at the beginning of the fight every time, but I still couldn't do it. I did okay until she shot out the ropes holding the tarp and then hid behind it. I thought it was coldly sadistic when I jumped over the side of the boat and hung onto the railing in order to hide from her...then she found me, cackled evilly and shot me off! The game can't really be THAT hard, so I must just really really suck at it. Eventually, I found that my technique of choice was just to sneak up on people and break their necks. It's funny as shit that if you repeatedly pick up dead bodies and drop them, items eventually shake out. And the first time I stuffed a body into a locker, I was so excited that I scared the shit out of my girlfriend.
"LEANDRA! I JUST BROKE A GUY'S NECK AND SHOVED HIM INTO A LOCKER!!!! YES!!!!"
I find it rather morbid that I have to use bandages to clean up my blood trails, or else the bad guys will use them to track me down. I laughed my ass off when I carefully aimed my tranquilizer gun from halfway across the room and shot a guard right in the head. His response was to shout, "Who's there??" and then chase after me for 5 seconds until he passed out. Then, of course, I stumbled into some infrared tripwires and set off a cadre of bombs that ended the game. So far it seems like an exceedingly well-designed game...I just SUCK at it.

Also bought a new live Radiohead CD that had apparently just come out...still fucking PISSED about that Radiohead concert that I was supposed to go to with RYS and Paizuri getting flooded out. "Idioteque" is unbelievable live. And I do declare that it may well be the best song of the 21st century so far! Muahaha.
Which reminds me, I bought those tickets using my friend Charles' credit card...and I paid him in cash, which means that he owes me the refund! Yay...an extra $140 will be nice.
Looking forward to a BBQ on Saturday...
