  • in the back of the car...the angel dust was given back to the stars... 2001-12-14 09:43:37 Weirdest dream ever last night...I don't even remember it all, just bits and pieces...and an impending feeling of doom.

Okay...I was on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, only it was really weird. There were mansions everywhere, and for some reason I kept having to go into them...and I kept getting hopelessly lost. At one point I finally found the resident of one of the mansions, and when I asked him how to get out, he offered to lead me to a pool where everyone was swimming. I declined, and then he stuffed me in a gigantic plastic bag and threw me off a ship into the ocean. No idea where the ship OR the ocean came from.
Then, later (or maybe earlier) I was driving down the street when a HUGE FUCKING ELEPHANT came storming onto the street. Rather, a caravan of them...all chained together. There was a giant gorilla the size of an elephant in the group too, and the last two animals in the line were twice the size of the elephants, and I had no idea what they were. Anyway, I pulled off the street and watched from my car, scared shitless.
Lessee...then I passed a street stand selling soft-serve cones, vanilla swirled with purple. I went into an underground mall and suddenly had a wicked craving for one of those cones, so I tried to find my way out. I got horribly lost again, and then my companion (I don't know where he/she came from, can't even remember if it was a he or a she) led me to the exit; a thin glass cylindrical tunnel that first swoops down, and then up...the idea was that you were supposed to slide down it face-first on your stomach, and the momentum from sliding down was supposed to carry you up to the surface. I was doubtful, so I threw a newspaper down there to see if it worked...and the newspaper got lodged at the bottom! So I told my companion hell no.
After that, I was somehow in a hotel with my family, on vacation. We were getting ready to leave and my brother was trying to hide his bottle of midori or something.

    Yay for nonsensical dreams.

Vampire Hunter D in DC tonight, party in Silver Spring tomorrow night...argh, need to finish video this weekend.

I'm disappointed that Vanilla Sky got less-than-stellar reviews...I was hoping it'd be good.
  • drinking strawberry wine...forever lost in time... 2001-12-13 15:28:45 Can't say I'm not jealous of all you lucky mofos who are wrapping up your finals this week and heading home for 3 or 4 weeks of bumming around. I only get 1 week to bum :(

So what's everybody doing on their break? I'll be spending Christmas at home with my family. As for New Year's...I'm supposed to be hanging out with one of my exes. Funny, last year we spent New Year's together too, and that's partially how we ended up together :P
    Ah well...don't worry, Leandra ^_^

I have to work on the 2nd, which means I'll have to start driving about 10 hours after the big ball falls.

Going to go see Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust in DC tomorrow...can't wait, the theater sounds really cool, it has a restaurant and a lounge.

Listened to Saturnine by the Pumpkins on the way to work and all during lunch. Great song, I'd love to use it for a video...but I don't really know what it's about.

This is a "neverending story" that I started on Paizuri's message board a few days before I started the now-defunct one on the amv.org Forum. IMHO, the one on Paizuri's is better, though it only has 3 contributors and is still ongoing...
  • disconnect a million miles... 2001-12-13 09:36:17 Hmmmm...I thought Win98 had some sort of issue with files over 2 GB. But as I speak, I have a 2.9 GB Huffyuv being TMPGed as I speak...should be done well before I get home tonight.

Yesterday, my boss told me, "Once we finish <such and such>, that'll be it for the year!"
Great...that's a 2-hour task, and I still have 6 days of work left before I can start my vacation. Guess I'll be getting more reading done here at work :P

Got my 60 GB HD working again last night after a 3-month hiatus...which means I can start my new video ASAP! And it also means I have access to my old Karekano captures and project files again too...

Uploaded "Film" to Waldo last night, which I guess makes it the first time that video has been available from anywhere but my hard drive. Nobody seemed to like it, so I never bothered to put it online...but I've been getting emails about it lately, so I finally threw it up.
  • a microwave...is what i ain't got...i ain't got... 2001-12-12 16:50:33 Girlfriend just called me at work, squealing in delight over her Christmas present. Whew...guess she likes it ^_^

God, I love Project Gutenberg...finished reading Dracula at work yesterday. I liked it, though my favorite part was the beginning when Jonathan Harker stays in Dracula's castle.

Now, on to Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham. Stop snickering, and hit the library more...I'm not reading porn :Þ

Yay, worked out a neat little trade that's gonna save a friend and I about $50 each...I mailed him Metal Gear Solid 2 to borrow, and he mailed me Devil May Cry...we both win :)

    Almost quittin' time...
