    Well, another work week draws to a close. The good news is that I'm down to the final step before I can go back online with my website. The registrar has changed, the DNS server settings have been changed, now it's just up to my ISP to point DNS to my new machine.

    Then I can tell BizLand what to go do with themselves. Politely, of course.

    The feedback from friends and coworkers on my new video has been very positive. I've even gotten messages from people I didn't ask to watch it. ;-) All in all an encouraging response, enough so that I'll probably try starting another video this weekend... I hope. 
  • Bits and pieces and stuff 2002-06-20 15:07:21 EK: Hah! I think the "Dude" poster is my fave so far... just ahead of ErMaC's "Matrix" riff.

    My domain is in transit, finally. I got the acknowledgement email from BulkRegister.com this morning and performed the intricate click-and-paste dance to authorize the transfer to the new registrar. It's just a matter of time before greyduck.net is once again under my complete control. Yeah!

    In related news, I had to perform a brain transplant on the server I'll be using. It turns out that the box I was using is still property of RealNetworks, and they sent us an email yesterday asking for it back. The good news? The don't want the Windows Media boxes (apparently those belong to the nearly-defunct LMIV) so I simply transferred what I needed to one of those and boxed up the Linux machines for shipping.

    That was a near miss. Progress is being made towards the return of my website and email. I feel SO much better than I did at the start of the week.

    There. Oh, and Apollo Hosting called me back. The ball is rolling to get my domain transferred. Soon... soon I shall have my website back. And email. And more features. Muahahaha! About fraggin' time!

    Just stopping by to say that ErMaC's "Shine"/"El Nino" mix is just plain awesome. Wow. I'd love to know what VBR encoder he used, though. (That's the alpha-geek in me talking.)

    In other news... it's not Monday anymore. That's the news so far.
