  • So many ideas, all of a sudden. 2002-09-18 15:08:51 Have you ever been chatting with someone and they make an off-hand comment like, say, "You should do a video to Such-and-such or So-and-so." And that comment drills its way into your brain? And you fire up your music player and listen to a song from So-and-so and you can instantly see what visuals you'd place and how?

    Great. I'm committed, or probably should be. The good news is (I checked) there are only a couple of music videos listed on this site that use this particular anime/band combo. I think I have just been given carte blanche to go forth and do evil.

    Looks like I'm going to be pulling DVD source down tonight. May the gods have mercy on what remains of my soul.

    This supercedes my commerical-parody video idea, which can happily sit on the shelf for as long as necessary. My "high-concept" Tenchi video idea will come next, I think... 
  • Open Thank You 2002-09-10 12:12:29 Consider this an open "thank you" message to whoever lent me their Muse. I have a video idea. It's short. It should be funny. And I absolutely know I can pull it off. On top of all that, I have lots of professional studio equipment available with which to do the voice work required.

    (Yes, it's a commercial parody. You win a prize.)

    I'm sorely tempted to put off Thumbnail Theater to do this, but I set myself a goal and I intend to make that goal. Besides, if I'm still fired up to do this video a week from now I'll know it's really a good idea... 
  • Plans and what-not 2002-09-09 14:09:24 I admit that August was a month of derailment for me. I did creative things, just not music video things. First came Tenchi Muyo Thumbnail Theater (http://greyduck.net/tmtt/). Then I decided to see if I could turn my dying MST3K tapes into VideoCDs. (I don't have a DVD burner. Too expensive.) I completed that experiment just this morning. From now until next Monday my goal is to finish off the remaining six episodes of the Tenchi OAV for Thumbnail Theater.

    Then... the next music video project will be planned and executed. Genesis or Midnight Oil. Tenchi Muyo or... something else I have on DVD, but probably Tenchi. I'm going for that mad rush of inspiration I had with "Mayuka" instead of the deliberate calculation of "Versus." (Say what you will about the two videos, I LIKE "Mayuka" best.)

    Wish me luck. Does anyone have a Muse I can borrow? 
  • More disturbed than usual. 2002-08-30 14:59:24 EK, that was... was... wow.

    I couldn't get past the first few "episodes," I'm afraid. Once you see where it's going, it's almost as painful as continuing to watch the material they're parodying. *shrug* Damned funny concept though, if a little... well... you know. =)
