I can't get my website going until some time next week. Damned financial woes anyway. *sigh*
Once I'm online there, I will probably cut back a lot on my journal activity here, except to do journal-reply stuff. Yes, you can all breathe a collective sigh of relief... =) -

Well, okay, it wouldn't be Me unless I spewed forth some more unnecessary verbage. I'll never be a Most Useful Commenter. I just can't find THAT much to talk about in my Opinions, dammit. Once I get past the handful of standout likes/dislikes, what's to say? "I really think you should strive to accentuate the ennui of the lead character through the use of blah blah blah such-and-such. You would be better off using the Amazing Thingamajig filter with the A/B whatever value set to X instead of Y, and when you use the NeatoKeen transition effect you should blah blah blah etc." Sorry, folks. All you're going to get from me is a simple, honest statement of joy or disdain with a few details.
Since I can't get Most Useful, I'll go for that other "good" metric, the Most Opinionated. I only have to do around 70 op's to ensure my place there...
Oh, and Elepsis (responding to an older journal entry): I'm sorry I didn't see that banner even come up on my screen for a vote. Ack! Once again, I wish for an "Unworthy With Extreme Prejudice" option. Le sigh.
Can we get banners repealed, as it were? -

I, on the other hand, will stick it out the whole nine hours today. What's wrong with me, you ask? Other than the usual messed-in-the-head problem, that is?
Some muscle or tendon around my left shoulderblade likes to act up on occasion, usually if I sleep in the wrong position or something like that. And once that pain kicks in, it tends to spread to most of my upper-left body. My neck won't turn, my left hand is tingling with pain, my shoulder hates me with an evil burning passion. And I do computer stuff for a living. Fun.
Sadly, muscle relaxants aren't an answer... they tend to leave me seriously fucked up, and I've never been fond of that state. So I shall endure until I can go home, lay down and whimper until I fall asleep.
Oddly enough, I'm not in a bad mood today. I'm actually fairly chipper and lighthearted. Today, I like being me. -

E K: I'm glad you liked it. Everyone I've sent the link to wrote back to say that they reacted much as I did, with tears rolling down their cheeks from the laughter. And you picked a great quote from the review! =) As for your bad day... those people always give me a strong urge to swing a spiked mace in anger. And since I work right down the hall from the main sales floor... *sigh* Tell you what, though: It's true that nothing makes you feel "all betta" quite like the kneading paws of a loving kitty. Damned allergies anyway.

You know, I'd probably better not ever try to make a site banner, not after all the bitching I've done here about lousy banners.
Four nearly-identical banners, none of them compelling enough to vote worthy. Hell, I had to squint to tell what was "different" about one of them. Only one of 'em actually has verbage. AUGH!
It's sort of like making a video: Ask yourself first, "Does the concept rule or does it suck?" Keep asking yourself that. Unless it's really, really good, it's probably not good enough. Perhaps a better question to ask yourself might be, "What does my banner idea offer that none of the other dozens of banners lack?"
And if this is all I have to write about for my Friday, I'm going to be disappointed in myself. =)
