It's pretty sad when your eleven year old son is showing you up, eh? He's cranked out three "game" videos and three AMVs in under two months... one of which I posted here (under my account, as we-his-parents haven't deemed him quite old enough to have his own dot-org account... yet).
So I guess I need to get busy on my next video. I'm almost certain I'm using Spirited Away, but I haven't found The Perfect Song yet. Argh.
At this rate, my boy will have more videos posted here than I do... =) -

I knew I needed that little extra push to get back into really WANTING to do AMVs again.
The push came in the form of the SakuraCon '04 contest. This year I saw a lot of videos ranging from decent to brilliant, with only one or two I'd deem craptactular. Now... I wanna try my hand again. I'm past the con, I'm moved into my new place, and summer's coming on. It's time.
Now, all I need is a crappy idea. =) -

Yes, I took a half-year sabbatical from the AMV scene and this site in particular.
In that time I experienced huge personal changes and some moderate professional changes as well.
Now? I think I'm back.
And yes, I know that nobody missed me... =) -

Ideas, that is.
The Ryoko video? Shot to hell. The song's been used over 80 times, and there's no way I'm competing with that.
The Midnight Oil video? I haven't a damned piece of anime that matches the Oils' style of music.
So I'm down to coming up with a good VAST video. *sigh* Wish me luck. -

Whoopsie. Sorry about my long, long absence.
Let's get this outta the way: EK, how is Bullroarer, or ANY Midnight Oil, un-AMV-able? Huh? HUH? ;-)
Anyway. Between Sakura-Con and now has been a long, strange journey. For instance, just as an incidental for instance, I'm getting divorced. I've also had no less than three monumental work projects. Let's just say that random surfing time, let along AMVing time, has been cut down to almost nil.
There's light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully by mid-July I'll be able to start on my next project. And no, I'm not telling what it is. What it ISN'T, though, is another random nothing piece like the last two.
Right now there are three video ideas I want to pursue. I'm not sure which will come first, though. I have "the Ryoko video," "the VAST video" and "the Midnight Oil video" all in mind and at least partly sketched out. (Planning, wot?)
We'll see what happens, won't we?
