Gonna buy some beer, soda, chips, cheez-its and will order pizza around lunchtime since the judges will arrive around noon.
The contest will be outputted from my video out card to my big TV in the living room. I've already set up all the videos as a playlist and it should run for 2 hours and 15 min.
Time to watch part 2 of the TMNT season finale! Good luck to all the WMM contestants!

Life is unpredictible...
2004-05-20 01:08:54
My sister and I went jogging up the hill next to our house earlier tonight and on our way back, everything seemed ok and there were no cars in sight. So when we were crossing the street back to our house, suddenly this asian girl in a black bmw makes a left turn onto our street at 60 mph and nearly runs over my sister. Luckily I was back far enough and was able to grab my sister's arm and pulled her to safety. Then I curse up a storm and run after the car but the bitch drove away so fast.
I'm so glad that I was able to react quickly enough to pull her away in time. Everything was just so calm and then... BOOM! this shit happens... I don't know what would have happened if I didn't react quickly enough.
I'm so fucking angry and pissed that the bitch didn't even stop and apologize. This month has been so good to me since I went to the Final Fantasy Concert, got a new job, finished finals today, and will be hanging out with friends this weekend to see them judge the WMM contest. Can't say what I'm gonna do next...
Your life can go so perfect then one stupid bitch can ruin it in an instant. -_-

Dear Friends Final Fantasy concert.....
BEST
CONCERT
EVAR!
My cousin arrives around 3pm and we play Super Smash Bros Melee till 5. I get my Rockman 3 for the famicom in the mail but I don't have much time to look at the instruction manual since we have to leave. My cousin offers to drive since his car has better and louder speakers so I pick up my premade-cd for our drive and we set off.
The trip went EXTREMELY smooth since there was NO TRAFFIC the entire time! It's like God wanted me and my cousin to go to this concert without any problems. We played nearly every overworld and airship theme from FF4 and 6 and by the time we arrived in LA, we played the Empire theme from FF6...hehe..
After eating at the local burger king, we play Aria de mezzo carattere from FF6 with the windows rolled down and speakers turned up as we drove by the Walt Disney Concert Hall and get parking VERY close to the exit! Thank you God! :)
We get off and begin observing the people and the concert hall itself. There are tons of japanese and american video game representitaves going to E3 the next day, lots of nicely dressed up people and lots of casual fans. There are 2 HUGE ASS lines for the merchandise booths that are selling programs and Tshirts. Suddenly, I really need to go to the bathroom thanks to the super large soda I had at burger king and find out the only bathroom on the first floor is one toilet and there's a large line for it. So I wait in line and go then my cousin and I go by some coronas with lemons in them at the alcohol vendor and drink them near the elevators. Then 20 minutes later, after we finish them, I need to go to the bathroom AGAIN and the line to the bathroom just got even bigger.... so I decide on an alternative.... the corner of the bottom floor of the parking lot :P
My cousin and I finally head to our balcony seats after climbing a long flight of stairs and I make a comment it's like the damn Shinra building. We talked to a guy who let us see his program and he says his girlfriend got him into the FF games. Then a couple of people behind us are talking about FF games and they are defintely the anti FF7 fanboys so hearing them made us crack up a lot. Then with 10 minutes before it began.... I had to go the bathroom.... AGAIN... damn, I'm a fucking camel. So run outside and go down flights of stairs only to find out that the women's restroom is the only one nearby.... so ... I take my chances.... O_O.... Only one woman walked in while I was washing my hands so I dashed out of there and then 5 guys were looking at me so I ran up the stairs and met my cousin back at our seats.... thus ending my embarassing moment :P
Now the moment I have been waiting for began.... We see Nobou Uematsu walking down the aisle on the bottom floor and everyone begins cheering and clapping. Then the concert begins with Liberti Fatali from FF8..... while the music is playing, there are screens above showing the FMV footage in DVD quality (I really wanna know how to make PS1 footage look like that.... give me the digital masters Square Enix... :P).... so fucking amazing.... Then after it's over, James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Tidus from FFX introduces the event . Here's the list of songs played.....
Liberi Fatali (FF8)
Zanarkand (FF10)
Terra's Theme (FF6)
Theme of Love (FF4)
Dear Friends (FF5)
Vamo Alla Flamenco (FF9)
Love Grows (FF8)
-Intermission-
Aeris's Theme (FF7)
Not Alone (FF9)
Ronfaure (FF11)
Final Fantasy I-III Medley
Medley from FINAL FANTASY 7 Advent Children
FINAL FANTASY Theme
My favorite probably had to be Zanarkand especially how it went with the footage playing on the screen. Followed by Terra's Theme (YES!), Aeris's Theme, FFI-III meledy and the FF theme. I did find it funny how James Arnold Taylor kept forgetting his lines and was obviously reading off cue cards. I finally figured out who that guy was in the front with the large white board... haha... The entire concert was like watching the RVG Project without the amvs.
Then after the FF theme ended, Nobou Uematsu came up and was giving high fives to the crowd members around him. He made a cool speech and the Hironobu Sakaguchi (The Producer of the FF series) and Yoshitaka Amano (The artist) came up and made their speeches. The funniest part was hearing Sakaguchi say in broken english "Great concert! English is my 2nd language." That was the closest I've ever gotten to the 3 most influential people from the FF series. Then when we thought it was all over, we saw Sephiroth appear on the screens and they played....
One winged Angel (FF7)
Which sounded absolutely fucking amazing...
Then it was over and we ran past the large crowd of people to get to our car and played the Victory theme and prelude on our way out of the parking lot....
HOLY SHIT...
That had to be the most awesome inspiring concert I have ever been to! I'm glad my cousin and I didn't miss this once in a lifetime event since my cousin is going to move up north and I'm glad we got to do this together. Plus he introduced me to the FF series through FF1 for the NES so I am eternally grateful to him for that :) It was such a great experience hearing music from my favorite RPG series in orchestrated form that it almost brought a tear to my eye while hearing the Zanarkand theme. The entire concert has totally given me HUGE inspiration for the RVG Project and I now anticipate AWA and running the NES Project panel at AX more than ever now.
And no, we didn't meet any elitist FF7 fanboys. In fact, we all seemed to be like one big family of gamers coming together to appreciate something we all love. I know people were selling their tickets months ago for 300-400 on ebay and I really pity them because this was an event that I wouldn't trade for ANY amount of money.
I begin my first day of work at my new job tommorow.... but guess I'll play my Rockman 3 in the meantime.
