  • AWA Report! 2004-09-27 11:23:18 Won't do a full con report so.... ultra highlights!

    - DannyWilson is the king of the hobos

    - The bridge of death is definitely everything everyone says it was

    - I passed out so many times around the con

    - VegettoEX and Meri's panel was awesome and seeing the nearly completed Doomrider was incredible. Finally great to meet them both after all of these years.

    - Will from Aluminum got me confused with Alan (Zarxrax) but still awesome meeting him and I didn't act like a stark raving fanboy.

    - Piano and the MAD editors: Who's bad? :)

    - Are you NME?

    - RVG showing was awesome and documentary filming was pure gold. I botched up my first interview but I made up for it by singing the zelda rap twice. The crowd was great and they gave applause to every video even with the little time to give applause. One of the highlights was Wonka and DannyWilson holding up their lighters during the credits like in a rock concert and everyone else followed holding up their lighted up cell phones. It was just so incredible that you had to be there. Congrats to Hitori and Zarxrax for getting the most applause! :)

    - The final DDR project was the absolute best one. VegettoEX and Meri's DB video just totally blew me away. I also loved DuomaxwellReiayanami's Jackie Chan's City Hunter segment, Turboneko's Fruits Basket, and DeMoss's Pee Wee herman. Sad to see it all end but it totally ended with a bang. Watching it kinda intoxicated thanks to DannyWilson also helped cure my headache.

    - Seeing NBK on the Hypeo panel was amazing. Plus I can't stop watching Flux's ECW video now.

    - Crossing 16 lanes of traffic to Steak and Shake..... tons of exercise.

    - I got totally WASTED on saturday night. I didn't get "drunk" but I got so disoriented that my hearing and seeing radius was reduced by a few feet. I will soon become the subject of many avatars and sigs.... o_O

    - Congrats to Flux for winning masters and now you all have to address him as Fluxmaster now! I regret passing out for another 15 minutes after the VAT awards started :(

    - Con was pretty easy to get around and run into people but it got CROWDED thanks to the narrow space. The elevators were nearly inaccessbile thanks to all the otaku crowding it so we always took the stairs. I hope MJ's back is ok.

    - Pilk getting ass slapped 4 times in the dealers room. :P

    - AMV_4000 humping jbone's leg.

    - Danny giving jbone the big tackle action.

    - MJ and Sumo Vixens.

    - Voices of Ryan is exactly the same as he is on AIM... not a good thing :P

    - The big emotional goodbye :(

AWA was absolutely everything everyone says it was: Fucking awesome. I totally regret not going in the previous years. I didn't really feel shy at all but there was a few times I was. I began to feel more comfortable as the con went by.

A few months ago I made a annoucment that I was semi retiring from contests but now after coming to AWA, I recieved alot more motivation and now I am officially declaring that I will enter the Masters competition and totally fucking rock it! Win or lose, I will give it my all and I promise to give out one hell of a fight. Even if masters will be the only contest I will ever enter, I can't wait to start editing for it........ Spiderman has returned! >:)

AWA is something that every AMV creator, well known or not needs to come to. Hell, we don't even care how well known anyone is, we're like just one big happy family. I hope this proves that there is absolutely no elitism among amv creators, especially in person. But judging by behavior on the internet, people probably won't realize it unless they meet each other in person.

It was great meeting all of my fellow peers, old and new friends, and everyone else. I have never felt so happy to be part of this community and I'm totally excited to start editing my new videos.

    Thanks everyone :)
  • BEST CON EVAR. 2004-09-27 02:39:39 Just got back from AWA.... too tired to write a full report now but maybe later...

DannyWilson = ultimate hobo kong. :P
  • YAAAAAAAAAAA MOTHER BITCHES!!!!!!!11111111one 2004-09-23 00:03:48 Well, I more or less botched up on my 2 tests today but I don't care, I just wanted to get the hell out of school so I could get ready for Atlanta.

I picked up my check from work today and my supervisor gave me some nyquil and tylenol for my trip. I highly doubt I'll be needing the nyquil since I'll probably be up pretty damn late anyways but the tylenol will be helpful especially after watching a billion amvs at AWA.

Well, I've been through alot of hardships throughout the year and I never thought this day would finally come. While I'm super excited, I can't help but feel a bit nervous as well since I'll be meeting alot of creators who I have looked up to for a long time. If I came to AWA 2 years ago, I would have been a super stark raving fanboy (Vlad can vouch for this at AX2002 :P) but now I'm alot more laid back but we'll see :P

I'm a pretty shy person in general and I don't really talk alot, initiate conversation, or even make eye contact but I'll usually speak up if someone talks to me first. I really don't like to talk about my own videos alot unless someone asks. I won't be the guy who will jump up and say "THAT'S MY VIDEO!". I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride. If anything, please talk to me about YOUR videos :)

I will be wearing my AWESOME shoes to AWA which will provide comfort for the long walking I'm probably going to do. The force of these shoes are so AWESOME that if I kicked a rabid otaku in the ass, he would fly to the moon.

So here are things I will be doing at AWA...

    - Passing out NES dvds at the dinner
    - Singing on the RVG documentary
    - Saying "RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE" for the big RVG speech
    - Passing out on the floor
    - Kicking Otaku ass with my AWESOME shoes
    - Avoiding Voices of Ryan at all costs :P
    - Hopefully getting a real Naruto headband
    - Not talking alot
    - Not making eye contact with people
    - Passing out in some random spot
    - Hoping people play my Naruto 2 enough to raise money to unlock stuff
    - Laughing whenever Danny Wilson cracks me up
    - Protecting my GBA at all costs from evil otaku (Problem from AX2004)

    AMV events and panels

    - RVG Project 2004 (given :P)
    - DDR4
    - VegettoEX and Meri's panel for DEWMRIDER, and maybe the 2 other panels after that (dwchang, vlad, aluminum, doki)
    - Hypeodermic studios panel (Must see NBK on the big screen)
    - Expo contest
    - Pro contest
    - Masters contest
    - Hentai showing?

I bet there's gonna be tons more awesome stuff to see too :)

    See you all at AWA!
  • Back to normal? or is it? 2004-09-19 13:37:45 My relatives left yesterday and I have to admit I miss them a bit since I was so used to having them over and they really didn't bug me that much since I was preparing things for AWA. I went with my dad and uncle to a few computer shops to help get my uncle a laptop and it works pretty well. Hopefully I'll be able to see my relatives again this december.

Yesterday I spent an hour or two cutting out the covers for the NES dvds at Kinkos. I love their cutting machines so much that I really need to get one of my own..... although it might set me back a few bucks...

Since I have had little to no sleep because of the RVG deathline and the hectic week that followed, I went to bed early last night and slept for a good 11 hours without the aid of nyquil. Man, I never felt so rested in my life.

I found a pretty decent sized gym bag for my clothes to use for AWA so I don't have to wait a million years at baggage claim when I get to Atlanta and I can just rush to the shuttle.

Everything seems to be ready now... I gotta do some last minute homework and study for my 2 tests on wednesday.
  • 7 MORE DAYS!!! 2004-09-16 12:34:14 One more week till AWA!!!!11111one

God has thrown every single thing he can at me this week and it's been one of the most difficult weeks ever... but it will all be worth it in the end.

I have 2 tests next wednesday which is the day before I leave but the good news is that I only need to go to work next wednesday for 5 minutes to pick up my check and cash it for AWA. My supervisor noticed the other day how tired I was because of this whole week so he gave me some free nyquil and some sleep medicine. I slept like a baby and got up all healthy and energetic this morning at 6:45. One of the best perks of working at a hospital is the free medicines :)

Plus I was finally able to rent Azumanga Daioh 1 yesterday. Now I got footage for an upcoming project. I'll be spending the rest of the weekend printing out NES dvd covers for people at AWA.

My level of excitement has never risen this high in this hectic week :)
