JOURNAL: Castor Troy (Ryan Molina)

  • In time for the holidays! 2004-11-27 21:45:28 It's almost finished.... big announcement coming Dec 1! :)
  • Anime sucks. 2004-11-18 10:27:16 I have been sick of anime for a long time and will only watch it when I want to make an amv.

It sucks to have stockpiles of dvds you still haven't watched for months.
  • Fucking pigs! 2004-11-12 16:04:27 My sister got her first ticket today for turning right on a red light when the way was perfectly clear.

    ....

I'm gonna play GTA: San Andreas now.
  • Video Game Project 3 has officially begun! 2004-11-07 21:28:20 http://www.nhmk.com/vg3/

    VG3 is now finally underway!
  • New video game obsessions - Part 5 2004-10-30 23:55:12 I have gotten quite a few games over the past month and I haven't done one of these since the summer so.....

    -------------

    Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)

I've waited a long time to finally get this game since I just recently got an xbox and I have to say that this game kicks major ass just like the NES versions. However, if you thought the NES versions were hard, then you're gonna be in for the challenge of your life because this was made for the difficult gamer only. First of all, the enemies are about as hard as the bosses from the NES games. If you remember how tough the 3rd boss from the first Ninja Gaiden was, every normal enemy fight is that tough. Enemies don't leave themselves open for you to hack and slash, they jump around, block your hits, and get you while you're vulnerable. If you do not learn how to block, YOU WILL GET YOUR ASS KICKED. So far I'm halfway through the game and the levels aren't Level 6-2 in NG1 hard but due to the big interactive environments, it's pretty easy to get lost and confused. The combat is fast paced and fun as hell since you can do a variety of moves with lots of different weapons. While there isn't any birds knocking you into pits frustration, there are some new frustrating parts like zombie archers trying to attack you off a bridge (GAH!). However, none of these are flaws since I think they add alot of the challenge. If there was one big flaw, I would have to say the camera especially when in the heat of combat, it tends to zoom in on you too much and it's hard to see the enemies at times.

Final Verdict: Solid, difficult, and fun game. A worthy predcessor to the NES titles.

    Grade: A

    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Being a big fan of the GTA games since the first one on the PC, I obviously had to pick this one up. I can't begin to fathom how many things Rockstar has added in the game like making the first city the ENTIRE size of all of Vice City and tons of other stuff. The mission difficulty has been upped quite a bit so you'll probably have to repeat a few missions a couple of times. One thing I must warn you about is that there is ALOT of cursing with the f-bomb being thrown around more than VoR saying it at AWA :P.

The PS2 is definitely beginning to show it's limitations since the graphics are no better than Vice City's.

Final Verdict: More interactive than the other PS2 GTA's but very strong in foul language and content.

    Grade: A-

    Steel Batallion (Xbox)

Being the rich billionaire I am, I shelled out quite a fee to get this game. If you didn't know, Steel Batallion is the xbox game where you pilot a mech with a LARGE ASS 40 button controller and a pedal. Luckily I have been able to fit in on my lap in my chair with the pedal a few feet in front of me so I could control it with ease. First of all, the interface is VERY difficult to get used to and the control is hard to manage. I have a bad habit of walking sideways or backwards crashing into walls but I hope to get adjusted to the game soon. My biggest complaint is that the window in your cockpit you have at the start of the game is WAY TOO SMALL and I could barely see anything. I know later in the game you can upgrade your mech and get a larger cockpit window.

Final Verdict: For the insane player only who wants the closest thing to piloting a real mech. Pretty steep learning curve.

    Grade: B-

Because of these video games, I'm no longer in my post awa editing groove and I'm about 70% done with a video I was working on since then :(
