Brief AWA Pro thoughts and other stuff...

Just finished watching all of the AWA pro discs. For my first time entering, I gotta say it was a pretty good contest. The majority of the videos were pretty decent with barely any bad ones but barely any OMGAWESOME ones. My video survived the conversion process and it looks a little blockier than my master mpeg2/huffy but that's understandable since they had to fit all the videos on the discs.
I was able to guess a few people and I hope I'm proven wrong or right on some of them. A few I already knew since I saw them at prior contests/downloads. I really like some of the non-anime ones as well. There's a few entries that I know will eventually win something and be recognized.
Won't say anything else until all the judging is finished and everyone's been revealed. Good job everyone, can't wait to see who did which video :)

I tried using the raws I downloaded off Narutofan but my computer is too damn slow to even seek through them in virtualdub even when I hold shift. I'm super anal about quality and I don't wanna use raws... Or I'm just too impatient to work with them.. - w00t! 2005-08-07 01:41:40 I was able to save everything! Thank god....

I suffered a HD crash yesterda and lost everything....
I'm in the process of recovering my files but so far it doesn't look too good...

I just spent the last hour reading all of my video descriptions. What the hell was I on when I wrote some of these?
0.5% done on the video... I can't get too serious on it until I get my new hard drive and do a mobo/processor/RAM upgrade. I remember back when After Effects 5.0 ran at least DECENTLY on this computer. Now that all of abobe's new versions of their products hog more system resources than before, my computer lags terribly doing a mask in AE and barely even dragging the points!.... I can get through masking much faster with the polygonal lasso in Photoshop at this rate... The only time anything is lag free on my comp is before I open any adobe product. My comp won't lag that much if only ONE adobe program is open but I tend to have 3 of them open at the same time and I can barely switch between either without a 10 second lag.
VG3 betas are due today but I won't be here since I'll be on a family vacation. Most likely our editors will end up getting a pretty good extension anyways :P
All of the betas I've seen so far for VG3 have been extremely top notch... I can't wait to see the finished product! :)
I'll be bringing my Naruto R2 dvds with me on my trip so I can finally catch up on this damn series... I've already loaded a few eps on my PSP to watch. I haven't studied Japanese for a while and I've been watching most of Naruto raw lately. The vocabulary isn't too hard to understand but I do prefer subs once in a while. I hope I can get through 3-4 eps a night on my trip...
I'll be back on thursday. I might still be able to check email and forums at the hotel but I can't access aim or any of my files. See ya! -
