VG4 Progress Checks - March
2007-03-16 15:25:08
I've just sent out the latest VG4 Progress Checks for March. If you have contacted me recently, then I know you're pretty good to go and I didn't send you one. The next VG4 Progress checks will be at the end of April and that's when the short 5-10 second proof of concept betas are due. Good luck to all the editors!

No VG4 progress check till later..
2007-03-02 16:26:22
There wasn't any VG4 progress checks for Feb since it's a short month and I've been busy with other things. Most importantly, I've been working on my ANIF07 video which I need to get done by the end of the month. So the VG4 progress checks will probably be done around the middle of this month or so. Once I get done with my ANIF07 video, I'll definitely get back into VG4.
Good luck to all the editors.

VG4 Progress checks
2007-01-31 11:29:29
VG4 progress checks are being sent out today to each individual member
of the project. They'll take a long time to do since I got class, so
expect them to come later today. It's still early in the game, and
since things have been starting out a bit slow, I'm just checking in
to see if some of you are still alive. :)
In wake of the recent mishap of my domain name problems, I've
registered a new server and domain name for the VG Projects at
http://www.vg-projects.com/ There's nothing on it right now, but I
hope for it to become an extensive database for the VG Projects and
it's future installments.
The VG4 page has moved to http://www.vg-projects.com/vg4/ and the
banner code for forum signatures is now located at
http://www.vg-projects.com/vg4/banners/rotate.php
Even better, the ftp now has a TON more space so now I won't need to
delete things off the server. So I'll be able to keep all of the betas
and mpeg2s up on it for everyone. Remember to private message or email
me for the info. There are 3 videos on it right now.
With that all said, make sure you check your amv.org/hypeo/email
messages later today. Hope to hear from all of you soon!

Video Game Project 4 - Announcements for the new year.
2007-01-05 13:04:42
Hope everyone had a good christmas and a happy new year. I have a few new announcements to make for the new year.
- I will now be picking up the pace of the project. So at the end of every month, I will be making progress checks for all the editors. They will consist of posts made on the mailing list, my LJ, and private messages to each individual member of the project. I'll be contacting each of you based on how each of you has contacted me in the past and which forums you frequent. Some of you will be reached with amv.org pm's, Hypeo forum pm's, AIM, email etc. I won't be sending out a generic check up message to each editor, but a more personalized detailed message about your track/game/etc. So make sure you look out for those.
- I have now set up an ftp for the project on my own server. In order to get access to it, you must contact me privately through email or pm's. Unlike the past servers, it's going to be a bit limited so I will be constantly cleaning it out. This server is where I want you all to upload your final mpeg2s and betas. If you have your own server to use, then that's great too. If I can get a server with much bigger capacity in the future, I'll let you all know.
- I know I raised the limit on short videos to 3 for each editor, but if you make 2 or more, please let me know which is the best one you would like to include in the project due to possible time constraints for con showings.
- If you need to go over the 3 minute limit, please let me know. There are quite a few editors including myself who absolutely need to go over the 3 min limit for our videos. I'll probably allow a few seconds or more to go over, but probably not extra minutes.
- There are still a few openings on the project, but be aware that I only want the entire project to be an hour or less for convention showings, so if there are too many editors who finish tracks that will go over an hour, cuts will have to be made for the con showings. However, for the dvd and final xvid encode, everything will be included.
- If you're still interested in joining, contact me once you've thought of a good track and a concept. I will always update the main VG4 page frequently so you can see your track listed on it probably a few minutes-hours if I approve of the track. The experience of the past 3 projects has shown me that certain people will and will not get done so the final track list will always be different.
Important Deadlines:
Proof of concept (about 5-10 seconds of your track): Due by April 31
Beta (Over a minute done on your track): Due by July 31
Final Videos due: August 31 or earlier/later (tentative)
With that all said, good luck to all the editors and can't wait to see what you all come up with! :)
