Homophobia amongst the anime fans...
2002-05-10 20:55:00
I can't believe the homophobia flying amongst the anime fans...
true... the way some of the posts have been going on the forums, I'm not that shocked.
I am disturbed by this trend. It's hard for me to continue to be a member of a group that has such foul sentiments in it.
Hate to use a cliche... but one rotten apple... well... you know the rest.

OVER 500!!
2002-05-10 20:34:04
Well... let's start off with the news that my "Flash Before Your Eyes" AMV has been DLed 500+ times.
"Tribute to Ed" has over 280 DLs, "Akane Tendo Has a Little Bit of a Temper" has been DLed a little over 170 times and "Outsider" just passed 100.
I put some solid work into my "Cowboy Swing" AMV and I hope it comes out well. Sadly, my heart isn't in it as much as it once was, but I can't give up now, especially after all the work I've put into it so far.
The other AMVs I want to work on have to wait until I get some of the DVDs I need to pick up.
The Forums are getting worse and worse. I can barely stand to enter them. People complaining about whatever they can complain about. Someone actually complained about the use of a standard technique used in an anime to express an emotion...
Another person complaining that Metropolis was "arty"
Ugh... if only I could ignore the brain dead... but it just makes me angry and I don't know how to vent it other than yelling my head off.
It just makes me angry that I can't even find solace in my hobbies because assholes are just everywhere.
Well... the quote for today is
"What can you expect from a God who would crucify his own son?"

Quote of the week.
"I'd rather feel like sh*t than be full of sh*t"
I'm working on Cowboy Swing and am hoping it comes out OK... I'm worried that since I can't do some of what I want, it will hurt the whole project...
well...
we'll see...

Made some of it work!
2002-05-06 18:00:22
Wow... some of the effects actually worked!
Some didn't... but I am making some real progress on my AMV now and so I will continue to try to complete Cowboy Swing after all.
Jury Duty is over! Huzzah!!

Giving up?
2002-05-05 09:03:55
I don't know - I've been trying to figure out the effects on my computer and nothing seems to work. Nothing makes any sense. The instructions just seem written for people who like computers...
I hate my PC and wish I had a mac. Macs are what computers should be! They stay the f--- out of your way! Whenever I got a program for a Mac, I was able to just "Figure it out" without even looking at an instruction manual... it was intuitive and made sense.
PCs are designed by people who like computer lingo and hate dealing with other human beings!! People who get off by saying giga-byte and smile as they think about processor speeds...
All in all, I am losing heart on my current project and I think I might just abandon it. I have other ideas in mind and perhaps it is for the best I just forget this one. I mean... who needs another Cowboy Bebop AMV anyway?
I am glad I can come back to this site now and write in my Journal (as I know Amizadai must be!!)
There's someone on one of the forum lists arguing about how people are putting the wrong things in their journals... as if the journals have rules of what can go in them and what can't. Are people so bored that they just have to start bitching about something to pass the time? I mean... I'd love it if I had nothing else to bitch about than that... I have much bigger things to worry about day in and day out and am frustrated by people who can't let the little things slide...
Got some more reviews... so that was nice. Sadly, there have been no reviews of my NieA AMVs aside from this one guy who simply wanted to shoot me down because I said some negative things about his NieA AMV. His video was kinda bad... but he even said in his comments on the video that he HATED the show... and I wonder why anyone would make an AMV to a show they hated... I hate DBZ... and I would NEVER want to make an AMV using DBZ footage (even an AMV that made fun of DBZ)
I missed the deadline for A-Kon...
and I'm wondering if I even want to enter anything at Expo...
Let's see...
Things that are bumming me out...
1) I missed the last episode of "Six Feet Under" and have been told that A LOT happened in the episode...
2) At Fanime, I had to be at a panel when they showed the AMV contest. I didn't get to hear how people reacted to my AMV
3) Told this girl over e-mail that I would be interested in taking her to a movie some day (when time permits)... she has not e-mailed me back in a while since. *Sigh* That's what I get for making the slightest indication of wanting to go on a date. :(
4) JURY DUTY is stealing my will to live.
OK... here are the good things for me to think about...
1) Have some GREAT ideas for new AMVs. (PLURAL) Just need to get some DVDs to do the work.
2) A-Kon is weeks away... and this is the first time I'm going to A-Kon as a guest.
3) Just came up with a new idea for a comic book. I think it has real potential and I have been goofing with that...
4) Recieved a really nice review for my Akane video by someone who said that I was one of their favorite AMV creators. Compliments like that really make one's day and I can always use cheer!
Well... that's all for now.
