Stupid Children
2003-01-29 03:26:47
After reading some of the posts from some of the children that on the forum, I can't help but think of that line:
"Yes, children, there is a world out there."
As I have gotten older, I realize how lucky I was to have the parents I had. While my parents and I still aren't on the best of terms, I know that I was very sympathetic to others even at a young age.
Some of the people on this board are just plain heartless. They don't care about other people, they don't care about what's going on in the world, they don't even seem to care about anime all that much.
We can only hope that those poeple in question grow the fuck up.
Sadly...some of them never will.

Article I felt like posting.

Chief U.N. Weapons Inspector Hans Blix and IAEA Director General Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei both delivered their reports to the UN (have Blix and ElBaradei changed their tunes?). The US would like to see this as a clear call for war, but the rest of the world isn't so sure. UN Inspectors still want more time. The Bush administration again says they have secret evidence of Iraq's weapons, but Bush won't talk about it in his State of the Union address (and why have they waited this long?). Yes, it's that time of year again. And while most of what Bush will say will be empty rhetoric, we can probably believe everything he says about Iraq.
Blair, Bush, and the Czech Republic are united in their bloody calls for war (they may even use NUKES!), while the rest of the world calls for that kooky idea of "diplomacy." Meanwhile, back at home most of the Democrats who voted for war are feeling pretty stupid. More than a fourth of the House of Representatives are calling for more time for inspections. Maybe they aren't as excited as Bush is to rain death upon Iraqi kids. Sure, Democrats could've chosen a different Governor to respond to Bush's speech, but at least their coming around.
The State of the Union will be a bunch of lies about the good things Bush will never do for the US people, and then some more lies about the bad things he WILL do for the Iraqi people. So, what can YOU do? First check out the charts at Public Campaign to understand some of Bush's domestic rhetoric. Second, you can take part in anti-war rallies scheduled for Wednesday--the day after Bush's speech. Third, you can get your town or city involved in the Cities for Peace movement. Fourth, you can help organize the next big national peace rallies in New York and San Francisco on February 15th & 16th. Finally, and most importantly, contact your members of Congress. Keep badgering them. Tell them to oppose Bush's domestic agenda. Tell them to take a strong and firm stand against a war with Iraq. Tell them to look to the future and see a more peaceful world and a world in which America still has allies (other than just the Czech Republic).

Sad News
2003-01-25 19:44:11
Well...
I discovered that Al Hirschfield passed away on Jan. 20th. It is sad when a great talent passes on. The man was a true original in the world of art and I think we were lucky to have him with us for as long as we had.
I have enjoyed his artwork since my dad first showed me one of the charicatures way back when...
I simply bow my head in a moment of silence for the passing of Al Hirschfeld.

While I was busy yelling at stupid people, I almost forgot...
My friend's website is back online. Anyone who had trouble DLing my AMVs should now have no problems DLing them.
Sadly... the 3 new AMVs are still not on the website and I am doing my best to pester my friend to get them up there... but he's been getting on this insane health kick.
I mean... there's nothing wrong with trying to be healthier... I really need to be healthier too... and I am trying to maintain a regular gym schedule to deal with my bad shape... but my friend is just going WAY overboard...
Anyway... I am doing what I can so those AMVs will be up.

Heard it before

Miss "the boring" wrote this in her journal...
(Aside: As Milo clearly hates the States with the fire of a thousand suns, why doesn't he just quit bitching and leave? Staying makes him look like the fool in that case. If it's such torture then there's no reason to put up with it. Honestly.)
This is such a stupid comment, I figured I would discuss it.
One: I don't hate the states.
If a parent scolds a child for bad behavior, does the parent hate the child? The parent might be angry at the child at the time of scolding, sure... but isn't the whole point of it to point out errors in behavior because you want to help the child improve?
My family came to America on the Mayflower. I come from Gov. William Bradford, the first Govenor of Massachusetts... I have quite a few historical people in my family. My grandfather, for instance, while not nearly as important as William Bradford or Stephen Hokins... he still helped extend the trains from Boston out into the smaller towns, making the lives of many better.
I complain about this country, because I think it needs to be scolded. I think it needs improvement and I do my part by contributing to foundations that I think might be able to make a differnce, supporting candidates who I think might do better for this country and speaking up when I see problems.
A parent who doesn't speak up ends up spoiling their children.
I think our nation is spoiled enough as it is.

The whole "love it or leave it" thing is old. It is a stupid mentality that is screamed out by the dumbest of people. I have already explained my point up above.
By protesting... by complaining... by saying out loud things that need improvement in this nation...
I am not only showing my desire to make this a better country, but I am also exercising my right to free speach.
The comment "love it or leave it" is a very anti-American sentiment... it means that we should all live in a facist state where we must smile at all things and say "yes...USA is good.... USA is good..." like a bunch of fucking zombies.
Miss "the boring" should just jam her fingers in her fucking ears and deal with the fact that people in this country have a right to complain about it.
It's one of the things that makes America great.
Three:
"Staying makes him look like the fool."
These are your words! I suppose you adopt the lazy ol' "sit back... it'll all work out in the end" view. A tired, lazy, apathetic view.
Personally... between my negative views of America and your apathy,
I feel you're the bigger danger to this nation.
My post that inspired your comment in your journal was that our country needs to embrace education better... that stupidity is not a thing to celebrate. That the children of this nation deserve a better educational system then the one currently provided...
What a bastard and anti-US monster I am, huh?
I think you actually prove my point how much this nation needs to be improved... when shallow people like you are so common.
Anyway...
You're entitled to your opinions...
but so am I
and my opinion is that your opinion is infantile at best and fucking stupid at worst.
PS
I put up with it because if I gave in to the legions of the stupid like you, I would only help contribute sending this nation on a downward spiral of apathy, disregard and ignorance.
