Friend's Ideas

A while ago, I was taking a walk with a couple of my friends and we somehow got on the topic of the anime Now and Then, Here and There. We were brainstorming on Abelia's motives as the second in command under Hamdo, why she helped him so much.
Me: Well, she porbably grew up in that society, and given women's other roles there, serving that psycho was her best option.
Ted: Yeah. " 'Belia looked all around this town and all she found was Hamdo..."
We all cracked up, and then they tried to convince me to make a video of NTHT to Earl Has To Die by the Dixie Chicks. Well, it's an interesting idea to entertain, but I think there'd be some problems with footage and roles. I think footage-wise, Wanda's role would fit Lala-Ru better, but then the whole message of the AMV would be changed. Also, this idea is coming from the same people who wanted to turn my AKIRA AMV idea into a parody, so I'm a little hesitant to take their advice... ^_^
BTW, I have been viewing various things on FanFiction.net. I'm confuzed...

nostalgia

Today when I went to a craft store with my mom, I saw a latch-hook kit of a white tiger available. It brought me back to last year where my Home-Ec teacher assigned us to do a latch-work pillow. I was overwhelmed with nostalgia-- and a drive to do another latch work! I bought the kit and took it home to work on. and then discovered that it doesn't come with a hook. Sigh. I will have to get one later.
While I was searching around the house for one, I found some old Pokemon card boxes. They were the first cards I ever had, Japanese imports that my cousins gave me. Good memories.
I just found a box of Bertie Bott's beans in our cabinet; it had a couple still in it. I tried one of them, a Sardine. Now I know why they were left in the box.

I have little or no life.
Actually, that's an exaggeration. I have a life, but I don't have much to record... I have about 2 weeks until the school science fair, I have not started 1 AMV yet, I've barely gotten around my writer's block while writing my NTHT fanfic, I'm hungry, I have a lot of homework this weekend, and I didn't go to the local anime rental place to get FLCL. I'm lazy...
But there is some hope. Over the winter break I got AIM and since have befriended some very special people who have helped me so much by answering my newbie questions and giving me support. You know who you are. Thank you!
I also just finished reading all of )v(ajin Koji's journal. You have a very interesting life, sir, and I hope things work out well for you. BTW, I saw Into the Mind of God. Very nice. I will leave an opinion soon :).
... Over the last few days I managed to talk my friends into seeing Now and Then, Here and There, one of the single greatest stories of all time.
... It's wasted on them.
I hope that, when I go out to get a job in a year or so, I can work at our local anime rental store. They've just started and haven't gotten much business yet, so to increase my chances, I must spread the word! *manic grin*

Well, I have some people officially on the Zalor Studio staff... I don't quite know how well this will work, but we'll manage somehow. It's a good thing that I've got someone who knows what they're doing... I hope it will work out.
I don't wanna be back at school! This will slow down my AMV time!
This Fanfiction story is gonna be tough. I decided to do it (A) because I'm not inspired to do any of my own work right now, and (B) because NTHT desperately needs and deserves some fandom and recognition! The problem is, while I'm good with my own stuff, I've always had a problem with fanfiction. I have issues with misrepresenting characters, especially the ones I really like. So I'm trying desperately to do this story while staying true to the original... I have some weird variation of writer's block. Maybe I'm not cut out to be a fanfiction writer... but I MUST DO MY BEST!
I should start working on Zalor's site soon. I'm sure that won't take nearly as long as an AMV. -
Resolutions

Well. New Years.
*thinks "Now how does the Journal concept work?"*
I guess my main resolutions deal with AMVs:
1. Leave at least one opinion every week.
2. Send my ****ing donation to AMV.org.
3. Start editing my own AMVs.
The first one is feasable enough, the second is essential. But I don't have much time for the third anymore. D***! And I was hoping to get started over the break. *bows head* O well.
This was quite an anime Christmas. The AMG movie, NTHT box set, Kare Kano/ His and Her Circumstances box set... I love that series. Gainax must have had a lot of fun doing it! And it's SO TRUE to the manga! It also clears up a lot of things that the translators of Kare Kano botched.
My own AMVs. *sighs* So many ideas, so little experience. I also need to expand my music horizons a little. I can't find anything that would suit a Nabuca character profile...
Another resolution: Get started on Zalor's homepage. Maybe check out fanfiction too. Fandom is more than AMVs, after all.
