JOURNAL: bubblehead

  • Dangit! 2004-06-13 22:03:15 I forgot to record anime last night! Inu-yasha and Witch Hunter Robin and stuff... T_T

Oh well, at least I have my video back to where I was... then I tried for the next lipsynching section to just use a clip where the character's jaw was dropping rather than him talking, but it didn't look good so I deleted it.

I'm really liking Premiere... but I hope I find a cheaper program that I like 'cuz I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on Premiere.

But anyway you can do a lot more with Premiere than with Movie Maker 2, and it's not that hard to do basic stuff with it. I also experiemented with lens flares and the star wipe just for fun. Needless to say, it was really corny and it's not going into the final product.

I wish school was out already.

I also used Virtualdub to get a new clip for a section I for some reason didn't have a good clips for. I still have some of the .vobs, you see.

I've got to go back to typing up my English assignment that I've been dreading, which is due Thursday. It's the big IB (International Baccalaureate) internal assessment, this presentation thingy. It's also... wait, I forget if it's thirty percent of my grade single-handedly, or if it's thirty percent when combined with the final essay. I hope it's the latter, because that gives me a much better chance at a good overall grade. Although I have at least 90% overall right now, 30% can make a big difference.

Also, the fourth part of Animix is really good, I think.
  • NOOOOOO! T_T 2004-06-13 19:13:51 I realized I used a different clip from the one I was planning to use in my video, so now I have to go back and lipsync AGAIN. *big sigh*
  • Stuff... YAY! 2004-06-13 17:51:59 I boosted the volume drastically on my audio, which is good, because before, I had to turn it up all the way just to hear it properly.

I also edited some more. Lipsynching, while not all that hard so far, is becoming increasingly tedious. Y'know, add a few frames, listen to it again, can't tell if it's any good, add more frames, okay, one needs changing, fix it, k now it's good, yadda yadda. Patience has never really been my strong suit, but this time I'm determined. I'll just take a break, then work on it some more, then if I get really fed up I'll do one of the easier parts of the the video. I just have to make sure not to burn myself out or anything. I also have to work on my last assignment for English class before summer break, and then I'll be fine. *sigh* we're getting out so late, this coming Thursday, FINALLY!

I'm going to go have snack now, and download Animix part 4. Part 1 was great, part 2 was bad, part 3 was okay, but the only really good part of 3 was the "children" segment, that was my favorite anyway, so I deleted it anyway because the Children Project is much better.

I also saw a good video by SnhKnives. It was fun and happy. For me anyway.

    bye.
  • Premiere Pro 2004-06-12 14:04:23 I'm doing the tryout, and it seems pretty good. ^___^ There are some limitations which annoy me, (like the certain resolution only, it adds borders to make it fit, but 1) I can fix this with virtualdub, and 2) I suspect this is only the trial version. Basic lipsyncing, also, is surprisingly easy. I think it looks okay anyway. We'll see I suppose.

Editing is going pretty well. The first couple of words almost lipsynched themselves. Afterwards, using three mouth positions, a few more words were easy! I also added one later clip and tested the export so I could know which settings to use, and figured that out. ^____^

My video source is really pretty ^___________^ being a relatively new anime.

And of course I'm happy and have all the rest of my video clips ready, just have to put them together with lipsync and stuff.
  • Edited Audio, Tried Editing Video 2004-06-06 23:38:26 ...yeah. I used Audacity to piece the audio together, and it sounds a bit jerky, but not too bad. That's all I can do for it anyway.

Also, I downloaded Puremotion Edit Studio 4 (the free trial) and it couldn't do what I wanted it to (cut individual frames). Well probably it could, but it seemed like a very indirect method of making cuts, so I deleted it. A pity, because I was really hoping it would work out (it's pretty cheap). You see, I wanted to do lipsynching, and it seemed that that editing program wasn't very good for that. I'll try another program sometime later.

Also, I wrote 700+ words of essay.

I still have some footage to rip, although I have more than enough timewise already.

My segment will be about 29 seconds long, within the limits of the project. It really was hard cutting it that short.
