Ummm... stuff.
2004-06-25 22:04:02
Uninspired title again. It's not my forte, as if you didn't realize that already.
I played DDR, of course, and I want to play more but my parents will be back with pizza soon and I have the tables all set up so I had better not. I'm currently downloading the three DDR projects over Bittorrent. Current status: 7%, downloading 8 kB/s, uploading 16 kB/s. It varies econd to second, though. I seem to be downloading from a very unreliable person. At this rate, it should be done in a few days.
I edited some more of my video. It's now officially done, so I'm going to send it off to the people running the AMV Hell 3 project once they send me the ftp address. I've already emailed them. Please, everybody, join the project! It could be really good (and really long) if you do! There's a thread here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=34730
Pizza's here, so I have to go. 'bye.

More Editing & DDR
2004-06-24 21:01:43
I played DDR again. Drop the Bomb is getting to be my favorite song in Konamix. Of course I watched the AMV afterwards. It's really good.
I edited more of my video. I have 18 days of free trial left, and I'm at least 85% done with my video. Of course most of the rest is lipsyncing. *sigh* Still, that's good progress. I hadn't had time to edit for awhile, so I spent maybe an hour and a half today... which isn't all that long all things considered.
...My dad is willing to buy me my own laptop, but the thing is, is he willing to buy me software as well? I mean like a decent editing program. Right now all I have is WMM2, virtualdub, and whatever free trials I can find. And not a whole lot of money either, which I'd rather spend on anime and manga anyway. I hope he'll be willing to pay for part of it, at least.
I'm having fun with my current project. I'm just playing around, trying to make it funny. Some parts are I think. I don't know about others, and it's hard to see it like an audience member as well. My idea has a lot of potential, I think. But am I realizing it?
I also practised driving today with my mom up at Caņada College. School's out there, of course, and it has mostly empty roads and parking lots for me to drive in without hitting anything. ^^; ...I mean, c'mon, I've only driven for less than three hours total, what do you expect?
so... bye

I played DDR!
2004-06-22 12:20:54
Yeah, I played Konamix several times yesterday, amounting to more than an hour total. I'm going to try playing every day so I can get in better shape. Mostly I want stamina so I can keep up with people better, including my cousins when they play DDR. If I keep it up, I'll be the Konamix champ when we play championships, but my cousin Deanna will probably still beat me at DDR Max 2, which I don't have, although I have a PS2. Speaking of which, it's been months since I've played any of my PS2 RPGs.
Also, I'm considering doing a new free ops thread.
I'm going to start Driver Training today at 2PM. My parents signed me up yesterday and then realized that they had to reschedule my orthodontist appointment. ^^; To tell the truth, I'm sort of nervous and would rather see the orthodontist. But I have to do driver training, because by the time I'm eightteen, I'll be in college already, unless I'm admitted spring semester. That is more than a year off, though.
Yesterday the Anime Network video on demand got a bunch of new shows and I watched some. I also watched the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode where that something-or-other-Dax meets her wife from her previous life, sort of. Well that's kind of how she explains it, it's this whole complicated symbiote thing which is hard to explain briefly.
I don't feel like writing anymore so bye.

Sorry about the typos!
2004-06-20 15:19:15
Yeah, I just noticed a lot of typos in my last journal entry. I wasn't checking carefully. Anyway though, I edited part of my video, and I showed my parents Otohiko's new video, "Damaged". It's really really good and everyone should see it. Even my parents like it and they're picky, not to mention spoiled from only seeing the good AMVs which I keep around after downloading.
My dad said I like a lot one Finnish groups, which is inaccurate. I like ONE Finnish artist, Darude, and ONE Finnish band, Nightwish. Not that I'm ashamed to like music done by Finnish artists or bands, it's just that I'm easily annoyed by innaccuracies and exagerations. So yeah.
I got into Nightwish after seeing a couple of AMVs using their music. Sadly though, it seems that some of their albums have not been released in the US. In fact, the one a really want to get, "Over the Hills and Far Away" has to be imported from France or Japan. Or Finland, presumably, but Amazon doesn't have a Finnish import listed. Anyway, though, the good news is that I'll be in France at the end of July, so if all else fails, I can buy it somewhere in Paris or Nice (funny name for a city ain't it?). Surely they MUST have music stores in France. ;) ....I could probably get it cheaper in France than if I imported it. I almost certainly could. But then again, can I wait that long, hearing only what of their music is in AMVs or downloadable from their own website?
...I still haven't bought Nami Tamaki's CD (Greeting). I really want to, too, but I'll probably ahve to order it off the internet, and I'm not used to doing that for music, and if I do, I want to buy some anime at the same time, so I'll probably need to save up more, unless by some strange chance, Best Buy or Wherehouse has it.
I want to go to Ameoba Music in San Francisco, because they might have a good selection of imports. They do advertise having rare titles, and some people swear by them, so I'd be interested in checking them out. I've been to the one in Berkeley, and it's big, at least, but I didn't really check out their selection.

I'm proud of myself!
2004-06-19 12:01:37
...because I solve a stick technical problem all by myself.
Premiere was giving me an extra fram, so I switched to 29.97 fps and it was fine, but I need 23.98 fps. So I exported an interlaced version, then I had tropuble using Avisynth on it. It turned out I needed an extra command and that I was spelling one of them wrong. I tried to export a YUV version but it didn't work, so I used an extra command (ConvertToYUY2)
