No response!
2004-07-02 14:48:41
I ftp'ed my video, it got there. I emailed the amvhell email account. No response. No bouncing, either. This was all awhile ago, email at least 2 days, ftp more like 4. I'm debating whether or not to pm Zarxrax on the forums, or respond in the old AMV Hell 3 thread, which are the only other things I can think of doing. Though, it's possible that Zarxrax just hasn't been online for some reason for the last few days. It's weird though. Quick responses for awhile, no responses now. ^^;
...oh, well.
I've been playing more Suikoden III. Last time I was at the Trinity Site, I couldn't go back to Hugo, who I'd played for three chapters then played Chris for one, b/c *SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER* I saw Chris in Chisha village, defending them of all things, without her armor or old hairdo, at the end of Hugo's chapter three and wanted to find out how she got there. Of course then I wanted to go back to Hugo's story, even though I hadn't found out, because I was about to meet the Flame Champion supposedly (and Chris was there too). But it makes me sad playing Chris' story because it makes it all very clear that there's treachery and deception somewhere, and I have to kill those charming Grasslanders who I'd become so fond of playing Hugo's story. Plus I hate that Roland (the purple haired elf archer guy). He's useless, he's ugly, and he's mean. Chris is nicer than I thought though, and her character is more complex than Hugo's in that she's conflicted and troubled over her descisions and loyalty, whereas he's so brash, honest, and straightfoward that he would make a great hero for a stereotypical mecha anime. Which isn't a bad thing, imo.
Chris kinda reminds me of the one Nightwish song, "Tenth Man Down".
Enough of that, I've got to play now.

Phew!

Well, I got my email back about AMV Hell. Seems my video was almost right except that some of the cuts in the audio seemed a bit choppy and it needed to be extended on the end. That was easy enough to fix, now I'm exporting the new version out of premiere and I'll send off another email and hopefully this version will be better.
...though I did have to re-rip the original audio off of the DVD, but that wasn't much trouble at all.
...of course now it's over the maximum length because it was really close before, but I think that'll be okay.

Oh_My_God!

You know you've been on the forums too much when you're watching the 2nd DDR Project and there's this Azumanga Daioh segment, and Yomi pops up, and you think, "That's SarahtheBoring!"
...and it just happened to me, too! O.o
...maybe I'm just going insane or something. My mind is out of my control again!
...wait, did I ever have it under control?
Now I'll have to change my avatar, so it doesn't happen to someone with whatever character that is.
...well, Sarah HAS had the same avatar for quite awhile it seems. She'd probably never change it on because of me. Grrrrr.

AMV Hell 3 segment uploaded. *nervous*
2004-06-28 13:56:52
I uploaded my segment and logo to zarxrax's server. Now I'm waiting for confirmation that it works and it's good enough, or else that it doesn't work/isn't good enough.
It should work. I mean, it's huffyuv and I think all the settings were right... as for the audio, it's an uncompressed wav at 44 kHz. that might be what was slowing down my computer, that fact that it has audio attatched. In the past I've never had a problem playing back a huffyuv avi.
As for the logo, it's a garish little yellow duck thing that I drew in MS Paint because I have to computer graphics skills whatsoever... as for it being a duck, that is my studio name, "Rubber Ducky Productions".
...well I like my segment. I find it funny. I also have another idea which I'll submit once I get confirmation that it's good enough, and if I have to make changes first, then I'll do that first. I'm really nervous though, even though it's my favorite video that I've made.
...maybe I'll make myself a compressed version so my computer can actually play it properly without lagging. ^^; ...at least with the proper settings, it plays correctly in Premiere, but I had to use "draft quality".
And I have an idea for another solo video... the working title abbreviates to "TSAIS" (I pronounce it "say"), and it'll use a piece of instrumental music and be very different from my previous videos. It'll also be pretty personal, kind of a look into some of the workings of my mind. Anyway, that's all I'm saying for now.
...bye.

Eureka!
2004-06-26 14:07:49
Creative cow says that the lower field is first, so I'll be submitting my "lower-fields" version. I can't tell if one version is jerkier than the other, because my computer is having trouble playing back my huffyuvs in spite of the fact that I've closed up premiere and virtualdub (the programs which might be using a lot of CPU or RAM). So I'm hoping the person I send it to has more luck than I do with the playback.
