WTF!?!
2004-08-15 13:03:53
I did a little searching, and found out that there are in fact TWO real companies named rubberducky productions (that's my studio name). In fact one of them is a professional slide show making company (which actually sucks ass; I saw one of their productions up as a sample). Anyway so I think I'll come up with a new studio name. Luckily my only video so far to have studio information was my first video... except now my AMV Hell 3 segment has a symbol of a rubber duck on it... maybe I'll just switch to Rubber Ducky Studios?
Hmmm... yep.

Hi from Venice!
2004-08-04 12:33:28
Hi, I'm in Venice, Italy. I arrived via train from Rome today. So far I've been to London, Paris, Rome, and Venice. I'll also be going to Florence (Italy) and Nice (France - pronounced neese). It's been pretty cool, except that a lot of Europeans seem to smoke, and it's a drag carrying around these great big bags we have. Oh and I haven't seen any anime, except for parts of two shows today, both in Italian, of course. One of them was a sort of old-school looking show (one of the characters was called Heidi, I think) and the other was a giant robot show I didn't recognize. So I didn't understand any of the speech.
Weird thing is, all the hit music is in English (or anyway what's on MTV is) and a lot of it is stuff that's playing on MTV in the states.
While I was in France, I bought two Nightwish CDs which aren't out in the States as of last check ("Once" and "Over the Hills and Far Away"). They're pretty cool, and I saved some money by actually buying them in France instead of on Amazon. When we go back to France in a few days, I want to get myself figurines of Asterix characters. I saw some in a store, but they didn't actually have one of Asterix himself (I read some Asterix books in French class). I might get an Asterix for my French teacher, if I can find one.
My parents are bugging me to take me off to dinner, so I guess I'll write more later.

France
2004-07-22 11:07:44
yeah, I'm going to Europe for the first time, including France. I've been studying French, and last summer I was in a play directed by a guy who was supposedly a real heartthrob in France a few years back. He played the son of an American family in a sitcom about a French family moving to the U.S. or something like that. Anyway he found out how popular he was in France because his father's a professor and one of his father's students went to France and found out. Weird huh? Also he said he got the part both because he wrote that he could read in French on his resume and because he kept his composure after he fell out of his chair.
...anyway though, that was all barely related but I'm excited about going to Europe. I'll be leaving on the 24th and returning on the 14th.
Also, we had a power outage yesterday, so I didn't play Suikoden III or watch anime at all, but it didn't last allday, so I watched some AMVs. I still don't know what caused it but apparently it affected several hundred houses. But at least they had power at the park so they could run their speakers. Yesterday's concert was a bunch of steel drums. All of the musicians were originally from Jamaica. It ws pretty cool, and we got hot dogs, sodas, and chips from the Optimists' Club for dinner. We also had nectarines, which were really good. And of course the sun got in our eyes as usual while it was setting.

More STUFF!

The girl who likes anime was at the Sojourn party, and I got her email address. I did email her, and it must have arrived, because yahoo hasn't sent me an email about how it didn't. I posted a link to here, so if you're reading this, then, uh, hi! Anyway though I enjoyed talking to her (not posting her name for privacy's sake) but other than that, it was too cold to swim and the food (burritos) was really bland. Not much like a real burrito at all. Meat, beans, rice, and not much seasoning other than salt. There should be salsa of some kind at least. That helps alot and I can take it fairly spicy. Not super spicy though.
I've moved on in Suikoden III. Finished Thomas' chapters 1 and 2 and moved on to chapter four, choosing Chris. I won't spoil it, but there are several surprises as well as a boss battle. I used big lightning spells to fry it pretty quickly (it's the orange dragon which you see Hugo fighting in the intro video). Then of course I moved on and eventually Chris had to put her armor back on T_T it makes her look fat and dorky. She looks much better in her green tunic with her hair down. But OH WELL, she HAD to look like a knight again to fit in in Zexen territory. *sigh* I'm probably going to have to deal with that stupid horse again, too.
I so love Suikoden III. it's my favorite RPG to date, and will be the third I've finished. ^^; yeah I start them a fair bit but don't always finish them. The ones I've finshed before are: Return to Krondor for the PC (sucky game, very bad story) and Lunar 2 (not including the epilogue).
See I usually get stuck. Like Dark Cloud 2, there's this ifshing part I can't get the hang of, or Xenosaga, there are these civilians I have to rescue, but I can't find some of them.
I also want to get SSX 3 for the PS2 but don't have much money. Maybe after I get back from Europe.
...I guess that's enough for now.

T_T
2004-07-16 18:23:11
OMG, I just saw RahXephon: The Movie on video on demand from the Anime Network. Now I've only seen one episode of the TV series, and it was a rather high-numbered episode, so I was clearly rather lost. But the movie was so good! And it's an independent story, as far as I could tell. As in, I wasn't lost. Not very lost anyway.
What's the T_T about? Well, not to spoil anything, but RahXephon: The Movie is REALLY sad. Only the second time I've cried over an anime movie, or an anime of any kind in fact. The first time was over Grave of the Fireflies (a very good movie, but I could only watch it once - I think I could watch this one again).
It's also really sweet. It starts off pretty slow (and pretty weird, actually) and then it gets progressively more intense. Like, majorly intense. And the ending... I'd spoil it if I gave any specifics, but let's just say it's very fitting, and quite good.
Now I want the DVD, but aparently it's not out yet. I'm sure ADV did this on purpose, putting the movie on video on demand a while before the DVD came out. Nefarious little schemers that they are. I'll probably buy it when I come back from Europe (I leave for Europe only four days after it's release).
In other news, I'm past my roadblock in Suikoden III, and I've finished Geddoe, Chris, and Hugo's first three chapters. Which means I could have moved on right then, but I wanted to play at least one chapter as Thomas. Anyway though, I still have a save at the Trinity site, so if I get really stuck as Thomas, I can move on anyway. I'm enjoying it though.
I'm also going to a party tomorrow. Sort of a Sojourn to the Past reunion thingy. I hope that one girl who liked anime is there, so I can tell her about it.
