JOURNAL: bubblehead

  • Shrek 2 2004-05-23 18:16:44 I just saw Shrek 2. It's a great movie, I think as good as the first.

Still haven't started ripping or editing yet.

I haven't seen any good vids with the anime I'm using... maybe this'll be the first? O.O ...nah.

I really hope it'll be good, but there's no way to know, just use a different program, put it more effort, etc. :sigh: I think the first thing I'll try will be the lipsync towards the beginning, get the hard stuff over with, I guess.

... well, I'd better finish my homework now, it's due tomorrow.

And Fanime is next weekend! It'll be sooo awesome! ^_^ I'm going to MusicFest and seeing Nami Tamaki, and to the AMV contest, and the dance presumably...
  • Celebrate! 2004-05-22 21:10:57 Just checked my star averages, and Artificial Light is now a 3.03, which I believe is the highest any of my videos have been yet.

    ...er, that's true, but I think I just wanted an excuse to write in my journal. ^^;

Anyway, though, I'm hoping my next vid (which I've only ripped the music for) will fix that by getting a higher star average. If I don't like the video, though, I may not upload it.

I'll describe it a little the way I want it to be: silly lipsync, cornball/cheesy special effects, good action sync. I'm really going to edit in something other than Movie Maker this time, and try my hand at lipsync at least.

Knowing me, it won't turn out quite as I want it.
  • Kiki's Delivery Service 2004-05-22 14:19:19 I just watch the (many) original Kiki's Delivery Service trailers. While they were good, I said "If she says "o genki desu" one more time, I'll have to kill her" (not sure how you spell "o genki desu"). Anyway I'm about to look up the music from one of the trailer, which they said was by Yumi Arai. Also, one of the trialers was so badly interlaced that I could see the scanlines on an ordinary television. Ugh.

One of the trailers was just a long pan over the picture from the movie which learning-disabled kids made. I was going "wow, that's a pretty cool picture. Those are some really creative kids". I hadn't realized how nice and how complex it was before.
  • philosophy and stuff 2004-05-20 17:34:34 I was thinking about some really big questions as I walked home from school today.

    One was "Is death absolute?"
I was wondering, when people die, do they just stop, or is there something else? I'm not inclined to believe in the Christian view, of an afterlife. I think death is either absolute, or part of a continuing cycle. I mean in a certain sense it is definately part of a cycle, birth then death and continuing births and deaths, but as far as soul, or mind, or whatever it is that says "I" and lives and has personality, does that continue? I'm also not inclined to believe in Nirvana. I think if death is part of a cycle as far as souls go, then it continues endlessly.

The other one was "What is real?"
I mean, is anything definately true beneath the surface? I can confirm that objects are real, unless it's like the matrix or something, but as far as big issues like soul and death go, and other things beneath the surface, can you make an absolute, correct statement about it? Does it even matter? Does anything matter beyond reality as we percieve it? There are a number of people who would say yes, it matters, but I'm not sure I agree. I think no one knows for sure and it's impossible to make absolute statements about some things. It's an interesting question, though.

Do I have too much spare time?
  • whoa... 2004-05-12 19:59:16 just wanted to say I clicked on a random banner, and the guy whose profile it took me to goes to the same college as my cousin, Truman State. Weird huh?

Can't be him though... He's into anime but not AMVs
