Blaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh….

What am I doing up so early on a Saturday morning… I just saw something dart past my feet. I should go back to bed. Hallucinations are not fun. My throat, which has been bothering me since Thursday, has kinda subsided, but I’m sure as soon as I talk or cough, the badness will return, so I’ll do my damndest to do neither. I’ve been having hella problems with getting AVISynth to work… in fact, I’m taking a short break to see if installing the beta version worked. “BRB”.
>five minutes and a post on “video help” later< Of course not. My woes are unending. I should take a nice, long, steaming bath. Damn, I just talked and my throat hurts. Ow, I coughed now and it hurts worse… >cries< God, end my pain!

I’ll weep now.

For some damned reason, cutting a DVD into quarters just results in one unholy mess. What's up with that...?

Oh, and if you haven't checked out the "Off-topic" phorums yet, please visit http://www.unix.oit.umass.edu/~thoureau/japanese.html and be sure to be prepared for chuckles.
Well, took my first two exams today: band and advanced composition. Band was okay, I think. I put my head down (Had a throbbing headache) below the music stand and when I rose it again, the twerp that snooped around to see who’s talking (aka who just failed) and pointed at me, opened his eyes real wide-like, and snarled. He probably farted, too. I’m guessing he thought I was talking and will inform the instructor on Monday that I received a failing grade for my Band exam. >shrugs< With any luck, the band director will just disregard the whole thing (with any more luck, snooper forgot altogether. Err, probably not, the snooper hates me now that I think of it) and be done with it.
Advanced Composition, one of the exams I was figuring would be damn hard, turned out to be …how to describe… kinda like a pecan pie. It’s got its chunky parts that’re hard to go down sometimes, but most of it was silky sweet-potato goodness. The hardest part was the vocabulary. As far as the short answers, I only left two answers blank (I hate trying to BS my way through a question I’m not sure about; it just shows complete and utter incompetence.), so I’m feeling good about that test. Tomorrow brings Psychology (oh, please.) and Wildlife Ecology (Oh, please God… let me pass), so I’m going to curl up in the fetal position and play my Japanese copy of Golden Sun some more. Hey, I’ve already got all four characters and 7 Djinn, and all this without any help! Eat it, English version that I cannot afford!
I am a pimp.
Well, …no.

Wonder what happens if you cut a DVD into quarters. Probably get four Gamecube discs.

The world as we know it is a big pile of crap. I could say shit, but I really don’t want to offend any tender ears. Why this sudden change from happiness (you know me, I’m a happy little man!) to utter antagonisticism (if that’s not a word, it is now.), you might be asking? Well, there’s this little thing that people do called “exams,” and I’m pretty sure that 99.9% of you are currently (or just getting over) feeling exactly the way that I am. Psychology exam? Pfft. Blow-off. The instructor’s letting us use three pages of notes on the exam. More ‘n enough (it’s the brain that would have gotten me if it weren’t for the fact that an entire page is taken up by several labeled illustrations of that favorite neuron bundle o’ mine) to pass with flying colors.
Wildlife Ecology is gonna be a nightmare. The class is, in actuality, “Hunting 101,” and it is imperative that you learn all season’s starting and ending points, bag limits, weapon seasons, anatomy of deer, what part of the deer is best to eat, things that are illegal to do while hunting deer (Rule 1: It’s illegal to shoot someone while hunting deer. Always get credit for that answer. The fact that this is the only answer I give doesn’t matter to me. ^^), Fish, types of fish, bag limit on fish, fishing seasons, good fishing bait, things illegal to do while fishing (read above replacing relevant words), small game, types of small game... do you see a pattern yet? What can I say, though…? I needed a science credit.
Band exam this year: Don’t talk with anyone during the class. That’s, like, in-F’in-possible. I’ll count my blessings if I pass.
Advanced Comp: Write a letter to someone taking the class next year and describe to them your study habits, how you did in the class and how you could have done better. Seeing as, due to many MANY circumstances beyond my control I managed to fail the second marking period quite spectacularly… this should be an interesting paper. I’ll be writing that up as soon as I’m done writing this up, as a matter of fact.
Then we start fresh with new, hopefully more interesting classes. Huzzah!
Aye carumba, the circus never ends. And to top it off, I STILL don’t have my copy of Adobe Premiere 6. Thus, I STILL can’t work on any music videos. I’m gonna make it a point to stop by Carl’s house this weekend; I think I may be losing my touch, being away from music video creating for so long. And to top it off further, MeriC has my videos (sobs) and I’m sure is busy critiquing them as we speak. When she is done, I’m confident she’ll find it in her heart to “bring back my CD to me, to me...” (Couldn’t help myself) and stick in a little something she promised me WAAAAAY back in the day. With any luck she forgot what that something was and will replace it with a Ben Franklin. I could use a hundred green right about now (GBA, GBA, yea yea yeaaaah… this Japanese one ‘taint coo. I could use an English copy of Golden Sun too, as it’s sometimes downright HARD to read Japanese when my primary language happens to be English, ya know what I’m sayin’?).
Well, as I sometimes say (well... never said it before, actually)... it’s time to just jump back on that Ferris Wheel and ride that donkey all night long.

The ideas rush through my head faster than light. Never to be seen again.

You know, there was a day where Olivia Newton-John wasn't associated with Grease!, believe it or not. Back... WAAAAY back, back before I was born... 1980... no one even knew her >gasp!<. The soundtrack to a movie about skating was handled by a group that just so happens to be ELO (a classic rock group that I happen to hold in very high esteem). Wait, go back: A movie about skating? Yes indeed, and even though the critics ripped on Xanadu until the end of time... people liked it. Who knows why? Doesn't really matter anyways. The fact remains that if Xanadu didn't exist, then neither would Grease! as you know it, and I'm sure you wouldn't like that.
Up until a few weeks back, I could remember watching some movie when I was... oh, I'd have to say three-ish... I was in some sort of bed or crib, and I remember watching a pretty lady skating with some UGLY guy, while some song about Magic was playing in the background. That's quite probably the earliest memory that I can recall (well, besides me getting into some sorta cake on the counter, but Mom was smiling, so it couldn't have been that bad................ right?), and it's been bugging me for-EVER that I couldn't remember what it was about, for the life of me.
Flash back to present. I'm 18. I decided to buy Dad the soundtrack to Xanadu for Christmas just this year; his attitude was "don't exactly love the movie, but love the soundtrack!" so, that's what he got. I got a nagging sensation as I put it on the register to pay for it, but I dismissed it as those chalupas I ate for lunch. Damn things were greasier than a hamburger grill (SEE!? THE GREASE ON MY CROTCH WAS A SIGN!!). So, I went home, wrapped it, put it under the tree...
...then BAM, Christmas comes, we open our stuff, he gets the soundtrack, plugs the CD in, WHABOOSH, Mind job, "DAD, IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT SKATING!?" "...well, yeah. Olivia Newton-John, ya know?" ...look on CD cover, "featuring Olivia Newton-John", BOY am I a dumbass. Well, the decade-and-a-half mindfart is over, I know what Xanadu is and I'm STILL hungry for another chalupa. Wazzup with that?!
Anyways, this is an idea that's been shifting through my cranium for some time now. After I do my next Trigun video, I'll be doing either that or the NIN song that I'm thinking of doing now. But either way...
It shall be done.

Erm... that is...

Sorry, as far as the total of the MMX4 hits, that's 413 hits, and the previously mentioned number was the ammount of downloads. Who's counting, though? Don't think that's too bad, considering it hadn't been up for too long. But I can't just write that as a journal entry. That'd be cheap. No, I think I'll find something else to write about...
Namely, the frustration that I'm running into trying to get the DVD-aspect up and running. Got all the tools, installed the codecs, started the first step described in ErMaC's EXCELLENT how-to guide which I HIGHLY suggest you check it out if you haven't already. (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/ErMaC/) Anyways, I side-tracked myself. I got to the part where ya do the ripping! Set it up! Started the rip! Nothing happening. Check out the site: Oh, it sometimes has problems "authenticating" the thingamajigger. No sweat. All I need is a software DVD player. Download Xing DVD player. Install it. BAM! Xing MPEG player! The sons a' bitches lied to me! Whores! Oh well, no biggie, I'll find another one later. Reboot. Whoops, seems the codec pack (Nimo 4.33, got lotsa nifty stuff) overwrote a file that happened to be older than the one Win98SE installed and it's bitching! Fine, ya he-whore. Reboot into MS-Dos mode, load up PowerQuest Drive Image. PQDI my computer back to its former, working self. All is well for the moment, because I have yet to actually install anything; I've been too busy setting up my computer back to what it was before the PQDI restore. Grr-ness.
That's an update worth updating. I'll be posting in the phorum if things still aren't working by tomorrow. Man, wotta pain in the ass... it's worth it!
It's worth it.
