JOURNAL: Harper (Harper cannot tell you his first name. Taboo.)

  • Easter's right around the corner... 2002-03-25 17:12:27 I'll be making that CD with the music videos... Tomorrow. ^^ Expect them to be available to download anywhere from a week to a month (dunno how fast the host's willing to work).

Gamecube, Gamecube, Gamecube. How thee doth rock. Just bought the new 007 game (squeeges) and have plans to get the new Bloody Roar : Primal Fury. I've tried it and let me tell you; it's one of the most pretty fighters I've ever laid eyes on. It RoXorz all over the PS2 version. They should be jealous. Yes indoody...

And for all you FRIGGIN' HYPE-MACHINE LOSERS... hope you're happy about the turnouts for Lord of the Rings at the Academy Awards (snickers) I know I was... >=D And I'm not the only person, no doubt, that will say to Halley Berry...

ROCK ON FOREVER. You deserved it all the way. (thumb up) And Denzel Washington DID kick major bootay in Training Day (just watched it yesterday, in fact). It's nice to see some African American awards. And two in one night...!!!!! Holy shitballs. Excellent. How many years has it been since even ONE has been awarded? Since before I was born? Methinks so...

With that, I'll leave you alone 'till the vids are posted (promise) ... that is if Mike isn't still dickin' off... >;) If he hasn't gotten 'em to me, I'll just mail the single CD with my newest works, but I'd hate to make two shipments...

  • Heehee. 2002-03-16 20:12:19 Just got back from (a nearby) town. Gad, had an assload of fun. Haven't had so much fun in a long time, actually. Me, my friend and his girlfriend >Nicole< and HER girl friend >Casey< went to the movies! w00t. We saw Ice Age, and let me tell you, besides the annoying small children running around and talking about the movie as if their parents were blind (Haha, he just got zapped on the tree!)... that was one helluva funny flick. Most of the movie was chugged with jokes that the little ones just didn't get, but just know that the squirrel's the shit. Then we went to BK for about an hour. Oh, we were done eating after like, ten minutes, dood, but you may not know this, but I'm a funny guy. So I entertained my audience (and most of BK, for that matter) for what seemed like not too long, until we happened to glance at the clock and notice it was 10:30. So, we wisely wiped our eyes (everyone but Josh's girlfriend's girlfriend was laughing so hard that tears were streaming down our cheeks. My tummy still hurts.) and headed home after a short detour to Wal-mart where I was sure they were going to kick us out, as we were all being asses and basically acting drunk. The highlight of the evening was when I picked up a copy of Sega Smash Pack 2 to look at, turn around and everyone was gone... and I was forced to search the entire store for them where I found Nicole in the Lingere section... with a water-filled breast-enhancing wonderbra on her head. I just missed Josh fondling her headbreasts, I'm told.

So, now that I'm home and my tummy still hurts, I find myself alone... again... wondering what I'm gonna do for the rest of the weekend. Oh, before we went to the movies we were in (the same) town with our school's band for a festival competition. We got straight Division 1's (that's good), thank you very fucking much, and we were damn proud of it. Thus the celebritory movie viewing with burgers, fries and cokes (okay, Dr. Peppers. Same dif.) ...ohg, I really don't feel like going to church tomorrow. I hope Jesus can find it in his heart to forgive me for missing it this weekend, but I'm physically fatigued and need a break. If I can get away with it, I'll be missing school Monday (though I doubt it). Yes. Sleep. Sounds damn good. Mike owes me a CD, but he doesn't necessarily HAVE to give it to me. But he's a dood and he'll deliver. I know it. THANKS! I LUV U, man. Did I tell you that VegettoEx is l33t?

    Heyis. Just ask me.

    Yes, he's l33t, smartass. -_-;
  • Let us pray... for STRENGTH, Lord, can I get an amen? 2002-02-27 21:39:23 Well, I’ve got a somewhat sad announcement (for me at least: you can decide whether or not to whip out the kegs after you find out what I’m talking about) for all you Harper fans… now, stay with me for a moment. My dealings with the ‘plague’ known as Anime extend to making AMV’s (less than an hour per day) and contributing to an MSN community where I’m designing a shrine for several shows, per request of an old friend I hooked up with recently, and she really likes what I’m doing. This is what I do pretty much four out of the seven days of the week dealing with Anime; the rest is dedicated to homework and school activities. Now, my father (bless his heart) decided that using a “packet sniffer” to see what it was that I was doing online would be a good idea and noticed that I was uploading a text file to be placed on her community. He goes on a two-hour rampage about why I’m obsessed, and that “this addiction is worse than heroin” (feel free to agree with me when I say… WHAT THE FUCK!?) and that there isn’t a day that I can go without the stuff. And let me tell you up front that the last anime that I’ve seen was the fan-sub of the Vegetto portion of DBZ that Carl bought before Christmas.

    Fine.

Being a stupid catholic piece of shit, I am now giving up all things related to Anime for forty days and forty nights (good movie) during Lent to prove to the bastard that I’ve changed since my freshman year when he officially banned the stuff from entering the house. And it’ll give me more time to polish up on a few books that I wanted to read. So, until Easter, you aren’t going to see me at all, except for once: when I get all my AMV’s uploaded, I’ll make a short post both in the forums and in my journal. Oh, and up front: you have a surprise that’ll be uploaded as well, and I hope you enjoy it… but then it’s back to nothing. I figure this is a service deserved by you, the people, for waiting so patiently so long. Oxymoron. Forget it.

Anyways, take it easy, my fine friends. Catch ya on the flipside.

  • Alright, hits are at 947. If I can get it to smack on 1000 by the time I make my next entry, I'll be a happy man. Spread the word! 2002-02-21 20:13:30 Aah, the world makes sense again. Once Meri kicks Mike's ass for not mailing the CD with all my previous unreleased works to me yet, I'll get it. Once I get it, that and two >possibly three< new projects will be sent to my new host.

Then all hell will break loose.

You'll see the best of my work, the worst of my work, and the most "what was he on when he made 'Otaku on Fire'? He musta been trippin' on the crack vials" parts of my work. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll feel sorry for the poor bastard who downloads this after you, but you will WATCH! Oh yes, cos if you don't? I'll hunt ya down, plop a tape in the VCR and MAKE ya watch 'em. So if you don't lock your doors regularly and plan on ignoring my warnings, don't say I didn't tell ya so.

I also have a secret to tell you. I'll tell you later.

...actually, now's as good a time as ever, because I don't have anything else to say. So, have a good night and pleasant dreams.

  • Just kidding. 2002-02-13 18:50:13 I didn't have too much to write on, and to be quite honest, I still don't. BUT I do have an update on what I call my life.

I >have< been accepted to ITT, so for the next two years they'll teach me the tools of the trade as far as computer programming are (though I still think I'd make a better author, but... eh.) ...either that or Multimedia. Haven't decided yet, but Multimedia has a really diverse base while computer programming and applications is ...well, kinda specialized. But whatever shall be, shall be, to quote da man.

Aaaaand as far as gaming goes, never better. I did a temporary swap between my gamecube (I can only play so many rounds of Smash Bros in a row before you throw it out the window) and a PS2, and let me tell you... for all the ripping that I've done on that machine, if you get the right games to mess around with (Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X, Devil May Cry, The Bouncer, Zone of the Enders and Jack and Daxter to name a few that I've played this past week)... there is no other system. Does this mean that I'm anti-nintendo, pro-sony now? Pshaw. On the contrary, out of all the games that I play, these are actually the only ones on this system that I enjoy, and the rest are from genres that I don't particularly conform to (SPORTS! GO AWAY!) or totally suck at (pseudo-sport-action crapola like SSX Tricky and Tony Hawk Pro Skater). If there's only a dozen games out of a couple hundred that I enjoy playing... why waste the money? Whereas on the Gamecube, we've got all the cool crap coming out shortly, such as Resident Evil, Zelda, Metroid, Mario and all the other classics I grew up with. Once a Nintendo kid, always a Nintendo kid, as they say (mabye... they could say it. I just made it up, actually, so I doubt anyone says it.).

And the computer's slowly but surely making a comeback. Half-life and Diablo are certainly good plays, and now that I'm beta testing for Microsoft, I get to try out new stuff all the time (now, if I could have just been in the beta for Metal Gear Solid for the PC...), so I'll keep my fingers crossed that I continue to enjoy it.

Best gaming system of all time, though?

    Gameboy Advance.

Megaman Battle Networks. Advance Wars. Golden Sun (Best 2-D RPG, ever.) Castlevania. Super Mario World (AWESOME). Upcoming Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (S-S-S-STUTTER... O.o;), Mario, Zelda and the high probability of classic ports from the Super Nintendo promise to make it even better.

    I rest my case.

AMV's: Still have to get Spawn uploaded, and STILL waiting for VegettoEX to get those older AMV's back to me. But I'm working on another video already... sort of. I've got the first minute or so of it worked out on my head, but I need to get a few DVD's from my good friend Carl before I can start laying out the gameplan. And now I leave you.
