JOURNAL: Harper (Harper cannot tell you his first name. Taboo.)

  • Well, now I feel sheepish. 2001-11-02 13:04:35 Adiamante is innocent!

Some jackoff decided to share Adiamante's FTP info with their buds and proceeded to take up 20 gigs of his bandwidth, thus costing him 50 bucks in fine/subscription hike. That's not even kosher. Check out the Off-Topic section post he made in the Phorum for more details.

A thousand appologies, and my most sincere sympathy go out to Adiamante. There may yet be a way to get my videos up (with his new and improved hosting guidelines) within the month. There's a side of me that's awe stricken as to how someone could take advantage of his generosity like that. Of course, then there's the side of me that says, "Ya know, there's a million people out there just like 'em. Get used to it."

    That's pretty sad.

  • Nope. No luck. 2001-11-02 08:29:57 ol' Jon Watson... you may know him as Adiamante... gave me access to his FTP some time back. I am somewhat upset to inform everyone that I was able to log into ftp.randomvariable.net exactly >one< time... that was a week ago. Since then, both Jon and the FTP account he gave me access to seem to have disappeared into the void of nothingness. There's absolutely nothing that I can do about it. I'll ask one more time in the forums if anyone has space to spare, but I'm doubting that I'll get such an offer as I recieved from my pal Jon. Both Carl and I are unable to log in, so that's it. Story over. No vids.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm gonna do about this predicament. Right now I think I need some quality time with my Dreamcast and a copy of Grandia II. After that...

...I guess it's time to check out who's got the best pricing for webspace.

  • heh, in the midst of madness... 2001-11-01 12:09:47 Forgot to mention some of the titles being considered. Names such as Jim Steinman (I've pretty much locked in "The Storm" as the prelude) who, in case you didn't know, wrote a good quarter of the popular songs of the '90s, including songs for Meatloaf >most notedly him<, ...uhm, that chick that did the "Titanic" song (It's all coming back to me....), and others! The Storm is, coincidentally, his only fully-orchestrated song, and it's hella-cool to boot. Also in the mix is Kansas, The Edgar Winter Group, P.O.D., Orgy, Aerosmith, and Judas Priest... and I've still got 800 song files to wade through (The CDs have been locked up in the closet; there's too damned many of them). This is gonna be a blast to make! There's some serious ideas, some outlandish ones, and I'm even considering to re-make the Intro to Trigun with "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group. The similarities of the two songs are at times... spooky. But that's a big iffy right now; if I do that at all, it'll be last. ...that's about all I had to say, actually. Peace out!

  • My most sincere appologies.... 2001-11-01 11:59:21 For those 89 >perhaps more that will yet check 'em out< people that were looking forward to seeing my videos...

Unless some unforseen miracle brings the FTP back from the void it seems to have dissapeared to, my host is nonexistent. Meaning that I can't upload the videos. Meaning that I'm an unhappy human right now. To the one person that had enough sincerity to host the videos; thanks a lot. Unfortunately, the FTP isn't recognizing any of the IDs that I was given >and tried; it won't even let me log in anonymously.<. I was able to log on once.

    Once.

    >shaking head sadly< Sorry 'bout this. I'm gonna try my damndest to get them up Friday, but, as mentioned before, this may be a futile attempt because the FTP login is f'ed up at the moment. >shrugs< I can't do anything about it; no one else wishes to host the videos. With any luck, Carl will be able to help me out, but I doubt it. If he does, this'll be the first place I'll say so in. A few notes in the forums as well, but that's a big "if" at the moment.

So, don't lynch me; I'm just the AMV creator.

Lastly, ideas are spinning through my head rapidly for my next project. Planned is a Trigun trilogy with three totally different songs for each, telling the story of Vash, Thousand Knives and company from beginning to end. Spoiler? Yes. This one goes out to all those that watched the series and are looking for something a bit different. Those that don't plan on watching Trigun... ever... well, I'm sad for you, but I hope you're first in line to get the first two parts of the trilogy. Mabye this will change your minds. Probably not, but hey, can't blame me for trying.

I've got tons of ideas for this huge task, and many songs I'm considering to use, though I'm almost positive that I'm using "Gets Me Through" by Ozzy Ozbourne for the second installment of the series. I've got high hopes for this one, though at this rate it'll never get hosted. Oh well. It's a hobby, not a job. Time to get back to work. Take it easy, everybody.

  • tch... I forgot to mention this... 2001-10-28 15:08:22 I'm going to put my best efforts towards my new project starting... oh, Monday. The plan came to me as I listened to a friend's copy of the new Ozzy Ozbourne CD... most notedly, Track 01. I think it's time to pay homage to the anime I enjoy most. More info to come!
