JOURNAL: Harper (Harper cannot tell you his first name. Taboo.)

  • FRIDAY! 2001-11-09 15:59:37 Muuhaha. The day that I have waited for so long to arrive has arrived! ...That was a bit unnecessary, but then again, so are most of the things that I do everyday. Like talking about nothing in my journal. Is it me, or is that blaringly unnecessary? I thought it was. So, let's move onto a topic, shall we?

I'm heading to Lansing this weekend to visit my grandmum. She's the nicest grandmum that I know. She stuffs me full of food and sends me home content, but one of my favorite pasttimes while there would have to be the annual trip to Best Buy... the huge 20 foot Wega TV latched onto the store ceiling playing the newest Nintendo hit which this year is... BANANAAAAAA... not by Nintendo! That's right, kids, Capcom Vs. SNK 2 for the Playstaion 2 will be on display THIS weekend. I wouldn't mind playing something like Smash Bros. Melee, but you can bet that I'll commit murder to get in front of that PS2. I'll challenge all those little 14-year old punk kids that think they can put a dent in Shin Akuma, and I'll BSOD their asses back to the stone age >blue screen of death... forward, forward, jab, forward, fierce kick... knock half your opponent's energy into oblivion in the blink of an eye... the BSOD! Don't you kids know anything!?<. I own @ SFA3 and MvC2, and I'll own them too. Mebbe I'll start up a tourney and give ten bucks to the person that can whup me. Mebbe not. At any rate, I'm gonna try to get hold of a copy of "Save the World, Loose the Girl" by Midtown. If I can't get that, I guess I'll have to settle with a new DBZ DVD. >sigh< Life just sucks sometimes. ;)

Or perhaps I'll purchase MMX5. I've been wanting to play that for a while now.

Who knows; the real reason I'm going there is to eat Chalupas and visit my Grandmum. That and fix her computer. She's sweet, but she's able to bust the computer I built for her just about as quick as I can fix it. Speedy Gonzales I ain't, but you get the picture. I think I'm just gonna get her a new motherboard and CPU this christmas season; methinks the PIII 650mhZ is about to blow.

I think that's about all I have to say about that. >ahem< Eat healthy, excercise a lot, and be cool about fire safety.

  • Hum, how come it's all green... 2001-11-08 15:59:05 All those entries were green. I thought each had its own color... Woot. Anypoo, Honor's Band was ...horrid. By the end of playing the T-bone for, oh, I'd say eight hours straight (easily that much) and putting on a concert, my teeth felt like they would fall off at any given notice. THE PAIN! Gaah! I only thank God that this is the last time that I have to do this, cos after this year >dances< I'm outta here! ^_~

    >ahem< I would also like to thank God for that.

Of course, now comes that vital time in an adult's life where he has to decide what he's about to do with the rest of his life. Current plans include ...uhm, goin' to college. I was thinking of going to Ferris State University (it's about twenty minutes away from here) but now I'm thinking more towards Baker College (which is about thirty minutes away... I love Reed City! ^^), but no matter what my choice of tuition is, plans include majoring in CIS (Computer Information ...uh, it's either Systems or Services) and perhaps a minor in accounting. But it's a bit too early (or really, really late) to be deciding, and I hear from my Advanced Composition teacher that some 70% of students that enroll in college have no clue what their major is going to be.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that's a bit scary. At least I've got a good idea... sheesh.

Monday I sent a CD thru UPS to New Jersey with my two music videos which, with any luck, will arive there today or tomorrow. Who knows; with this whole Anthrax scare, they're probably carefully checking the boxes to see what they contain; I was looking at a poster that they put up about "suspicious" packages. Among those was excessive use of tape... and it's funny, because the picture looked EXACTLY like what I'd done; I ran out of masking tape >damn my parents.<, so I was reduced to circling the package with medical tape ... I'd have to say at least five times. Let's hope that the people at the scanning center have a sense of humor. If I HAD masking tape, I would have used it. ...where was I before I interrupted myself... ah, yes, the CD.

...well, now that I think about it, there's not much else to say about it. Heh. It's round and it's got lotsa MPEGs. So, tough luck, someone besides you is going to be seeing that MMX4 video before you. Life's full of disappointments, like people wasting 2 gigs of bandwidth and making someone pay 150 bucks in illegal warez file charges and bandwidth overusage 'n shez. If people weren't such scrotums, you'd have seen those videos about two weeks ago. All this during Jon's midterms... that's really sucky.

That's about all for today's rant. Fret not, however, my fellow people; I'll be getting the info to upload my shet ASAP 'n stuff. So, go on with your lives, watch lots of Dragonball, listen to lotsa Tenacious D, and make sure to eat lots of veggies.

You'd better eat your veggies now.

  • Aah, happy Tuesday, everyone. 2001-11-06 15:53:28 School bites.

Tomorrow's my big day off; seeing as I'm top t-bone in band >^-^< I get to travel an hour away to play for all the people in the fine city of White Cloud. Methinks it's time to dig out my Gameboy and a copy of Megaman 3 'n Zelda. The trip wouldn't be so bad, but you have to play...

    for six hours straight...

and then put on a concert for the people that come to the concert after the little teaser for the kids at school. I tell ya, being #1 ain't always the best.

Well, I was messin' around with "Frankenstein" and a Quicktime version of the Trigun opener. Wow. Those two go together like two hydrogen molecules and an oxygen molecule. Well, not quite that synchronous, but pretty damned close. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between what I did and the actual intro. It's that good. I still haven't imported any clips, so this is just me messing around; I'll be sure to put what I did into the actual "Frankenstein" video, though.

Muuhaha, impressive... this new Trilogy Quintology is shaping up to be the next great online epic... >;D

Now, I'm going to go back to Grandia II >again< and see if I can finish it off >again<. This is one long-ass single-disc RPG. Just goes to show you how GREAT the Dreamcast is; if you don't agree with me, then damn you, be that way. At least I know the truth! YEAH!

  • Woo hoo, the world's not cool 2001-11-04 09:48:41 Well, four messages sent to Adia have gone unanswered, so I'm guessing the poor guy's too busy at the moment. Fret not; one way or another, two videos are going up before the end of the month.

Two, you say? What about the three on your list?

Well, after a rather uncomplicated and fairly-easy-to-decide chat with that little critic in my head, Otaku on Fire will never see the light of day on AMV.org. It was the first project that I'd done with Adobe. It had no storyline, no point, no anything. Video quality was poor, and on top of that, it was all taken from other's videos, probably contributing to the poor quality (not to mention being incredibly tacky). I may yet re-create my ELO video, but not now, and probably not tomorrow. In fact, don't even expect it this year. It was fun while it lasted. I'm not going to waste both my time uploading it and your time downloading it; it's a 50 megabyte piece of dung. Forget it.

Kenshin and MMX4 are still going up. As to when, no one knows. Once Jon gets through whatever it is he's doing, he might drop me a line; he might not. >shrugs< I'm not gonna bitch too loud, because he's doing this out of the pure kindness of his heart, and he just got stabbed in the back. If I were him, I'd shut down the FTP service completely; he's stated that those who have already talked to him about adding videos will still get the chance to do so. Luckily, I had. Wether he will honor that statement is another matter for another time.

    ***

The Ideas for my Trigun project are just FLYING. Right now, the tentative schedule is this (and will probably change, so don't place any money just yet):

    Prologue
    Jim Steinman: The Storm

    Part One
    Edgar Winter Group: Frankenstein

    Part Two
    Ozzy Ozbourne: Gets Me Through

    Part Three
    P.O.D.: Alive

    Conclusion
    Enya: Only Time

Surprised? So am I. The question in my mind is wether or not it's gonna be possible to do what my head says I can do. I'm still considering several other songs, such as Lynard Skynard's "Free Bird" >full 10-minute version< for the conclusion and Aerosmith's "Dream On" for one of the acts. I'm excited about this! Can't wait to start.

    WHAT!? YOU HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED!?!?

Let's not rush the magic. ;)

  • Nuthin new... 2001-11-03 14:50:06 Still waiting to hear from Adia as to what the status is on the video hosting...

    That's it? How dull.
