  • Psycho groupy cocaine crazy, psycho groupie coke... makes you high, makes you hide, makes you really wanna go... -stop- 2001-11-23 11:24:41 >grogg< I don't think I should ever do that in my lifetime again. Getting up at 5 in the morning to drive half an hour away to wade through plethoras (if you could describe it that way) of crazy people at the break of dawn the day after Thanksgiving. The fruits of my labors? A hot Metal Gear Solid 2 T-shirt (well, okay, K-mart wasn't giving away HOT MGS2 T-shirts... but it was unexpected, though thankfully recieved) that came with a copy of MGS2. Josh is gonna freak when he gets back from his LAN party and finds a copy of MGS2 lying next to his PS2... which is the desired effect.

I'll let him lick my feet on mondy. Meanwhile, I'm bustin' some poltergeists in Luigi's Mansion, jammin' to System of a Down's Toxicity album that I also purchased this morning >sorry, THAT one wasn't a gift.<, when I get the sudden urge to check my mail. Seems that good ol' Adiamante decided to mail everyone Thanksgiving day with FTP info! Well, that's special, because in about three hours, Megaman X4 will be UP FOR DOWNLOAD. That's right, children, the best of my work >so far< is about to go live the day after Thanksgiving! What could be better? I'll post a few pixels in the forums when it's done transferring, though the download may be down if Jon decides to play the moving game as soon as it gets uploaded. If he does, I'm sure that he'll be prompt to notify me.

Alas, I have a limit of 70 megabytes of upload on this FTP, so at most, I'll be able to put up one more >very< small video, if I even have something that small. Until I get that webpage up and running, you won't be able to see very much of my work. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers sometimes; not even me.

My two very special contacts have ...erm, contacted me (that didn't work out very well...) to inform me that during Turkey break, they will be giving feedback on my videos as well as putting an AMV CD together for me as ...I dunno, a thank-you? They kindly offered to do so, and I gratefully accepted.

If I can find the cord for the dirty bugger, I'll be hooking up the Dazzle! unit to my computer to see what magic I can work up with the new Trigun DVDs and SOAD >snicker< CD. I've got a good idea of what I want to happen in this, and I'm afraid that I've recognized the error of my ways; five Trigun videos is plain stupid. I may squeeze three out of it, but I'm not looking for quanitity; quality is my utmost concern at this moment. That's what you're gonna get.

Well, now I leave you to go on with your lives as I continue creating my page... after that, I think a spin on the X-Wing Gamecube-style is in order. I've been working too much. Time for a break. Then sleep.

    Yes. Sleep.

Upload at 11:24 EST: 10% complete; estimated time remaining: 3:11
    ...glad I've got 56K connection that uploads at 3.5 K/second! o.O;;

  • Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, Metal Gears and a Webpage. 2001-11-20 18:18:46 Aah, it's that time of year, children! That wonderful week where the Thanksgiving bash lasts 'till midnight, only to have early birds rushing to Wal-Mart for the Day-after sale... that official start of the shopping season! Normally, you wouldn't catch me dead hangin' out with the group that storms the store until the shelves are thread-bare... but I've got a wad of cash that hopes that there's a copy of Metal Gear Solid 2 still available when I get there. Am I greedy, then? In fact, no; it's for the same dude that just shucked out close to 400 smackers for my Gamecube. I figgered it's the least I could do for da man. Speaking of which, that should be dropped off at the house... tonight. >;D

News flash: >just got off the phone< Capcom Vs. SNK is here as well. This is the BEST F'in Christmas EVER!!!! I love my friends... >cries<

    >Chop Suey in the Background, right around the first, "I don't think you trust... in... my... self-riteous su-i-cide..."< A sad day for Web-goers everywhere shall be the opening day of my website. The only way I could get the specs I wanted >specifically, the "unlimited" space and unlimited transfer< was to pay an extra 5 bucks than I was hoping to (knocking it up to $225/year. Oh, damn.)... and they decided that a nice extra would be up to 5 subdomains.

Now, if I wanted to be a prick, I could ask people to pay me moola to hang around the >named< domain, which will remain unnamed until such a time as I feel it's safe to name it, aka when it goes up. Going back to the point... when I feel comfortable with the roots, I'll host five sites, which also enjoy the benefits of unlimited transfer. Of course, the subdomains could also be a temporary (mabye permanent) haven for sites that have gone down due to lack of funds, lack of server, bad quality server... etc, etc.

More about my site, you ask? Glad to tell you. Video games, reviews, Anime, reviews, ALL MY ANIME MUSIC VIDEOS (about f'in time, right? ^^), letters to moi, and perhaps a few other odds and ends. I'm re-designing it right now (I had it all mapped out a few years ago, in anticipation... It's funny how things that you think are the bomb can become so utterly pathetic four years later. Suffice it to say, it's pretty awful.), and plan to have the site up around New Year's Day. Big w00p, Harper's goin' online!

  • Oy vey... 2001-11-18 08:54:56 Nope, everyone's busy as F getting their poop in a group, so no AMVs for you. This is stupid; I'm talking with Carl on Monday and seeing what it's gonna take to get my videos online, even if it means building a website from scratch and putting a PAGE up to host it. This is NUTS! RHARGH!

Oh, and in the mix for the future >AFTER Trigun<, ideas are in muh head about El Hazard and Oh, My Goddess! ...and if I ever get that DBZ DVD set, one of dem, too.

Going back to the page, I've decided that I'll host ALL my videos on there; the point of this place is to see what the producer has done through his career, including stinky-poo videos. I'll get back with ya when there's something to get back at ya for.

    Shake it well, my children.

  • It's good to be alive now. 2001-11-17 19:06:11 Think of all the technological advances we're making, traveling from the "state of the art Pentium 100mhz!" to the "New PIV 1.9GHz"; all the consoles, all the new cars and new toys and new schools. It's quite a rush, when ya think about it. Eventually we're gonna hafta run into some sort of point where going further is unnecessary. Who needs 6,400,000 x 4,800,000 resolutions when you can't tell the difference between that and 1600-somethin by 1400-somethin'? Who needs a video card that runs up to 200 frames per second when the human eye is only capable of processing 30 of those frames quickly enough for you to be able to see all aspects of the animation?

    Right.

Now that we're done with the funky "be glad to be here" things, I move onto the beautiful Xbox. I'm not referring to the box itself; it's rather ugly. The controllers are hefty and overly bulky and the box is big enough to fit a sandbag in. However, there's a genre of gaming that I haven't really ever "dug", and that was that of the first-person shooter area. It's not that I'm bad at the games >I'm not<, it's just that they're usually so damned boring.

Halo is able to, in fifteen seconds, load up an approximately one-hour-long >no, I'm not exaggerating< level full of lush environments and beautifuly dangerous enemies. Vehicles and co-operative gameplay are a must if you wish to fully love this game.

Am I going out to get an XBox? HELL NO. If I want to play the goods, I'll head over to my friend's house, as I just did. I've got a Gamecube coming in two weeks at any rate, so it's all good. ^^

Umn, moving on to that pesky Anime Music Video aspect; still no one has replied yet to my queries, so I shall wait longer, and, unfortunately, so shall you. Let's just throw away dates and say "it'll be out when it's out".

  • I nailed a seventy-seven point doe on opening day! o.o 2001-11-15 18:35:55 A little lesson in Michigan culture: In this neck of the woods, opening day for Deer Rifle season automatically deserves a day off. Hence, today I felt the sudden urge to clean the entire house. I think I'm sick. At any rate, I must move on, because this is the big weekend where I get to go to muh bud's house and check out his brand spankin' new XBox with a copy of DOA3! w00t! There's something special about that game... perhaps it's the bouncy breasts.

Scratch that. It's the bouncy breasts.

Anywho ^^ Made the CD with the MPEGs that will be uploaded to the sites... problem is that I forgot to NOT delete the e-mail messages with the upload info >seeing as two of 'em were 'send me your info and I'll send you your username, I don't really blame myself... one of 'em had the IP Address, however, and now I dunno how to hook up wif the FTP ;(<. MY BAD! You'll get it soon enuff; till then, make sure you watch the news at least twice a week to stay current on politics and American crime.
