I knew it. I'm on crack and I don't know it.

It may be contageous, so don't come near me: I am currently ripping songs from the Yanni: Live at the Acropolis CD that mum got eons ago. I remember back in the day when I'd rip on both her and Yanni, or as I called the dood back then, "Yawni"... and now I'm finding myself enjoying his work and I DON'T KNOW WHY! Someone get the big knife out.
Anyways, I retract my previous statement of just how disappointed I was with Smash Bros. Melee (maybe I was partially prejudiced, seeing as I couldn't find the teeny lil memory card needed to *save* your progress), because I now see it as the beautiful, kickass and addictive-as-dope game that it truly is. I'm never going back. I've gotten 155 trophies (LINK RETURNS TO HIS OLD GLORY! Look out, Pikachu...), all characters except, I hear, Mewtwo and Game & Watch man, and a few extra levels. Those pups are all a helluva lot more difficult than getting Pichu was, and that in itself was hell incarnate (until that day, Jigglypuf was a fag. I now wish I was as masterful as she is when she's chuckin' twelve pokeballs per second whilst you get your ass kicked by 4 male and female frame characters. I know a cheap fight when I smell one...). In fact, the only character that seems to pose any threat to me whatsoever these days is Captain Falcon. He's a bitch, so he don't count. Everyone else is fair game to a double-smash slash from everyone's favorite green-garbed elf (excuse me... >cough<Hyrulian>cough<), and don't think I can't kick your ass, or I'll fly out to your home and prove I can. Then we can go mano-a-mano with our fists and you can send me home in a bodybag. Real life's a bitch, so it don't count.
Also got a few games from Microsoft in the mail yesterday, including Motocross Madness 2 (...if you hate bike games, try climbing up the mountains and driving to the edge of the map and watching your driver get blown sky-high to the ground. That'll make a moto-game lover outta anyone.), MechWarrior 4: Vengance (nice mech sim. And I hate all of 'em. That alone says something.), and Midtown Madness 2, which is tons of fun, except for the fact that I ORDERED METAL GEAR SOLID 2 AND I ALREADY OWNED MIDTOWN MADNESS 2 TO BEGIN WITH! I coulda cried. Oh well, I guess I scrape up 20 bucks and get it from Amazon.com if I don't find it at Best Buy first. Besides, my Midtown Madness 2 CD was getting worn out anyways.
ALSO beta-testing a certain few games for Microsoft, including... oh, I can't tell you... Non-disclosure Agreement. It's about... oops, NDA again... and you can ...damn NDA. Well, it's a great game! Also full of a helluva lotta bugs that, if it were the finished product, would warrant a ritual CD burning. Nonetheless, the bugs can piss ya off damn quick, like not being able to ...NDA, sorry... without sacraficing your firstborn child and cutting off your left great toe. Oh well, that's what Betas are all about, right children? Right. Now, all I need to coax MS to work on is porting Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty to the PC. But that's not gonna happen in this millenia. >sigh<

Christmas's come and gone...

Well, got lotsa bootay this year. Mostly music, of course, but hey, what can I say. Little of Nsync, BSB, Smashmouth AND something I >wasn't< looking for: What Women Want soundtrack. God, I love Sinatra. Anyways, I was a happy boy this year.
At the moment I'm in the middle of the biggest LAN party in a 500-mile radius of ...umn, my current position, I guess. Two full HUBs, about two dozen people, I guess, playing Halflife: Counterstrike. Now it's breaktime (not for long, you can be sure), and peeps are just up an wandering around the house. All I can say is that I'm glad I'm not paying for the electricity in this house this month... gotta be catastrophic. OH well, I was just invited 'n stuff.
That's about all... heh.

welcome to the greatest book of our time. ...except for yours, of course. Yes, yours are good. And you, your books aren't bad either... well, it's one of the top 30 books of our time... at least!

Aah, it finally snowed like a sonuvabitch up here (this is the first snow we've gotten that's stuck to the blasted ground), so it's beginning to look a lot like ...a white christmas, just like the ones I used to know... all the way, oh what fun it is to ride in... silverbelllsssss.... siiiilverbellllllls....
>ahem< And there's a ton and a half of gifts under the tree! woot. Already opened two of 'em. Nice pair of Cargos and a button-up shirt. Nice stuff; think I'll wear it to church tomorrow night, from midnight to three in the crack o' morning during the Christmas Vigil mass. Oh, my religion is a wonderful one. Then I sit in my bed 'till 7 because there's no way I'm sleeping. Mebbe I'll play a few rounds of Smash Bros, neh? Of course I will. At any rate, gotta head to bed, folkies. Important shit to do tomorrow, like sitting in my room with a needle in my hand... just waiting for the tomb of some old dying man.
I'm gonna break that System of a Down CD. Swear, girl, swear!

Merry Christmas, everyone. Have a safe holiday.

Aah, the simple things in life, I tell ya... Every year, I head south to visit with Grandmother to receive the liberal dosage of food and clothing. The travel down there is a hefty two and a half hour drive. Luckily, the new car (and, unlike most "new" cars that we get are actually said to have been manufactured around '82 or so, this one's 2000. Very nice Ford Prizm!) has adequate heating. Nothing like shivering for close to three hours, hoping that the folks will relent and allow a short pit stop at a party store... if you haven't experienced torture like that, then your life is not complete.
Luckily for me, I also had another toy to play with this year besides a Gameboy: This nifty lil laptop that Dad's borrowing from the hospital is quite the entertainer when you're away from your computer for a couple days. I just pop in Dragon Ash's Lilly of da Valley (not a bad album, all told... tracks 5, 9 and 10 are probably the best on the CD. Good luck finding it; the only reason I have it now is because I have a VERY nice Japanese foreign exchange student), load some old-school Solitaire and BAM... you're all set. I think I'll set up another Casino game on this thing for the trip home. Not particularly my favorite type of game... but when you have a computer that'd break a sweat playing DOOM II, it's about all that you can afford to get away with. Besides, there's all this nasty ghosting that this screen does. Tried playing Diablo II on it once. Close to vomiting from motion sickness after five minutes. And it was STILL slow. Damn 2-D games are getting too demanding on computers...
This thing's got nice speakers, though. I'm afraid my parent's aren't too fond of the music I listen to, however, so I'm forced to use headphones that go half dead unless you hold the cord straight and tilt your head just so. Oh well. That's what I get for leaving the good headphones in my friend's car. I think he may have eaten them by now... either that or one of his brothers did. Perhaps they're half-eaten by wild dogs. If you haven't seen Bridgett Jones's Diary yet, I suggest you do so. Funniest Brit-flick since Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. Not that I'm one for British flicks; any country that comes out with a movie like Full Monty has some serious problems.
Now, this whole trip would have been much happier if it weren't for the fact that I'm well aware all the time that, now... RIGHT now... I'm missing the chance to see one of my friends for quite possibly the last time in my life... and my parents must really be hiding the fact that they actually care. Mom was being rather pissy towards me this morning, too... I was about ready to throw my hands in the air and say, "I'm staying here", but that would have upset Grandmother, because if I wasn't going, then Dad wasn't going, and he doesn't get to see her too often these days. So, after I politely (as possible) asked her to act a bit more civil, we were off to Lansing. As usual, got stuffed, got a ton of clothing (I think I'm going to throw a few of the T-shirts she got me back for refunds. She's very sweet... she doesn't really know my tastes, though), including a nice MSU Polo shirt and some very nice lounge pants (ya know... the jean-length boxers) and, as was last year, a $20 Best Buy gift certificate. Hot! By the time I make it to Best Buy sometime next month, I should have damn near a hundred-fifty bucks to blow. Sounds like a copy of Pikmin and a couple DBZ DVDs are in order. Either that, or I'll head over to DigiLink (computer store, great prices) and see if they've got a soundcard that I've been looking at... The Soundblaster Audigy has a very nice software bundle, and I'm in dire need of a new soundcard, perhaps more than an import card. Then again, I would have close to just enough money for an ATI All-in-wonder... so many choices!
For once I haven't been snooping around the house to see what I'm getting for Christmas, but I'm pretty sure I know what's under the tree... Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Smashmouth, StainD, clothes, a couple videos... what they are is completely beyond me. I asked for DVDs, god damnit! Oh well, I guess I should be glad that I'm getting anything as well as I've been getting along with my parents lately. Well, that's kinda off... lately I've been getting along with them fine, it's just the past month that's been horrid. ANYcrap... I forgot to ask for that CD/DVD tower... -.0 Which means that I'll have to get that myself as well. Oh well, it was only 30 smackers. I just need something to put all my DVDs and Gamecube games.
I seem to be writing a lot lately. Should I change that? Am I boring you? Am I a chitty writer? Eh? You hate me, don't you... all because I have none of the Anime Music Videos that I've created in my life anymore, and that I won't be able to make more until I get an import device. You should get off it. There's more to life than music videos. At least that's what Dad told me, and he's right approximately 79% of the time.
Speaking of Dad always being right, today's shopping trip was a lot of fun, I shit you not! The Saturday before Christmas is BOUND to be a fun time to shop, right? Well, we've neglected Mum of gifts so far this year. She has nothing, while dad and I have... some things. I think I counted 18 between the both of us, not much when ya think of it ^^ so, we decided that TODAY was the day where she would get her fill. And damn, did she ever. I think we spent more on her than was spent on me AND him. We traveled to many locations, including Best Buy (when I whipped out my gift card, he shook his head and said, "Nono, we're buying for HER, not US.". I almost cried, because I realized that it would be about a month before we would be able to go to Best Buy again. But it wasn't a tear welling up at all... I sneezed. Anywho, we got her some stuff there. Mostly music and movies, but we also picked up a pair of jimmies and a journal (I sense that was influenced from Mom watching Bridgett Jones's Diary too many times this month) from the Meijer across the way, and we're planning on getting a few shirts and a copy of Rush Hour 2 from Wal-Mart tomorrow as well (oh, fond memories...). But Dad felt that we were going into town further than we wanted to go in order to get to Target, and no matter how many times I told him we were in the wrong direction, he just refused to listen ("I grew up in this shit-hole... now, if we go from point A to B, then take Road 4, turn left on 9, we should get there QUICKER than taking A to C..."). So, after consulting Mum on the phone using less than acceptable language to figure out where we needed to go, he looked at me and then looked away as I stuck out my tongue and screamed, "TOLD YA SO.".
I should laugh now. That's never gonna happen again.
