Now, if the great movie π could just help me make AMVs. Okay, my latest vid was a bit disjointed. It worked in my head....well....okay, even I can see it's a bit disjointed. So, what to do....

Hrm, so beat-sync, lyric-sync, etc. don't necessarily make a great video. "Cause I have to say, Megalomania had some nice beat-sync at times. It was scary. But I think I lost sight of the meaning somewhere in all the pretty colors....So, for my next video, I'll have to do something a little less story based. Or, maybe....something even MORE story based!

Problems: I can't find the song! AHHH! In the days of KaZaa and such, you'd think no song safe, but this one seems to be.... must... find.... a.... cd .... compliation.....
But the theme from this movie was running through my head the other day, and I thought it was SO perfect for Wild Arms TV! GRRRR!
At least Amazon has it...good. Soon, I'll be able to make this video...liek...in two or threee months. :) -

Anime: Excel Saga...............WHAT?
A Excel Saga video to Megalomaniac? What am I smoking? Something truly mystical, man.
And the even better thing is...it's going to be an attempt at a serious Excel Saga video! Is it possible? I think so...but with one problem. There may not be enough serious scenes in Excel to make a 5:00 video. And it might be extremely boring. So, occasional comic relief is necessary, even proper, since the audience will be expecting it anyway.
Basic Layout of Video (not a storyboard...I tried that with C.C.C.D., and the final was nothing like the storyboard)

Premiere SUCKS!
No, that's not true. It's a great program. THAT LOVES TO CRASH, ARRGH!
I just have to figure it's little idiosyncrasies out, then I'll be editing like a pro! Of course, being able to figure out Premiere requires you to be a pro already....hrm.
STORYBOARD FOR VIDEO PROJECT NUMERO TRES (ALTHOUGH, IT'LL BE THE FIRST ONE I FINISH)
Anime: G Gundam....that's a LOT of source footage!
Song: A.D.D. by System of a Down (a so-far unused System song, yay!)
Title: C.C.D.D.
Focus of video: Chibodee Crockett, Neo-America's Gundam pilot
Basic Intent: The song A.D.D. (American Dream Denial) is a song that, in System's fashion, complains about America's government and how it has lost touch with the "American Dream." Chibodee Crockett, the Neo-America Gundam pilot, is a man who is living his American dream...until the shady government types try to take it away from him, and the horrors of the 13th Gundam Fight Tournament almost burn that dream out of him. So, I saw an immediate connection between the song and the character.
Problems:
1. The sheer amount of source footage. Now, I've watched all my G Gundam, once. I like it, but I don't wanna watch it all again so soon...
2. Lyrical sync. I'm one of those people who says "If the song says 'toaster,' there better be a toaster on the screen!" G Gundam is missing some of the lines of the song in literal sense, but I think it has all of the in metaphorical sense (which fits System better anyway). I know Wong Fei Hong closes some blinds SOMEWHERE.... Still, it leads back into number 1.
3. Getting used to Premiere. It can do more than VideoStudio....
Potential storyboard, off the top of my head (without watching all source footage, I may find better scenes)
opening single guitar solo: Some shots of Gundam Maxter and Chibodee (ep.2)
pause....black screen
opening instrumental: Bam! Chibodee punching neon signs (ep. 2)
Some scenes of Gundam Maxter doin' it's stuff (drawing pistols, putting on it's boxing gloves)
lyrics begin:
We fought your wars with all our hearts....(first fight, episode 2)
You sent us back in body parts (getting arm blown off, episode 2)
You took our wills with the truth you stole (hard syncing...thinking the scenes where Domon is in the virtual reality thingie fighting Devil Gundam, with the scientists looking on (DVD 2))
We offer prayers for your long lost souls (overlay of Sai Saici's monk mentors praying as either Domon gets ass kicked by Devil Gundam (from previous sync) or some Chibodee action)
The remainder is an unjustifiable egotistical power struggle at the expense of
(not sure, definitely hitting Wong Fei Hong for the 'egotistical')
the American Dream, the American Dream, the American...
(here's the plan here...three scenes of Chibodee looking all cool and American, for each of the three times this part comes up, one of the three scenes takes the lead, the other two overlay on each of 'the American Dream's. I'm going overlay crazy!)
We don't give a damn...
(choruses, straight fighting action....the Maxter kicking some ass, properly synced, of course)
There is no flag that is large enough....(Fade out of an American flag, into a shot of the Statue of Liberty Cannon (DVD 12))
To hide the shame of a man in cuffs (Domon in cuffs, episode 1)
You switched the signs then you closed the blinds (opprotunity for some Photoshopping...can't remember any directly synced scenes, gonna have to watch)
You changed the channel then you changed our minds (blue haired girl....forgot her name!...getting the Berserker System activated on her)
The remainder....

no flag large enough....(flag fades in over broken up Gundam Maxter, crossfades to)
shame on a man in cuffs (think there's another scene of Domon in cuffs...if not, there's one of Marco in cuffs...I think)

And the last chorus. I'll save the final fight between Domon and Chibodee for this one. With the magic of video editing, Chibodee might actually win! Maybe not. :)
A random note: Notice how Gundam Maxter never wins a single on-screen battle? Fights to a draw twice....but never a win. Well, they do show the wreckage of Neo-Iraq's Gundam.....:)

Changes, changes

Grr, editing to classical music is hard, especially when your source sucks (gonna have to physically BUY the CD, no .mp3 is gonna cut it, the transitions are just too blurry).
So, Love that transcends form... is on hold, until I can improve my song source.
Then...hmm...what's next. A Lain vid is possible. So is a G Gundam video.
GAH! Too many good ideas. Too lazy to do them all!
