Song: KOMPRESSOR DOES NOT DANCE by KOMPRESSOR
    Title: Lain Does Not Dance

Might work really well. Chance to play with combustion 3.
  • Wow....never cried to a song before 2004-07-18 21:46:00 Now, I usually use this journal thingie to hypothesize videos. But I see everyone else is all personal and stuff with it...maybe it helps to write down yer feelings. Never done it, myself....

Well, I was feeling major depressed today. Why? That would take a few pages. Succinct answers: girl troubles, loneliness, recurrent major depression for which I no longer take the meds for....

Anyways, I had heard this song, Zero 7 - "Home" a few times, and I liked it. I have some SaiKano on order. I thought to myself, "You know, that might make a good video." So, I was depressed, like I said. I had to go to the PX (store, for y'all non-military types) and pick up some toilet bowl cleaner for a room inspection tomorrow, so...I decided, what the hey, I'll browse the limited selection of CDs in the main PX (the other PX on Ft. Hood sells most of the CDs). Well, there was Zero 7's latest CD, with "Home" on it....last copy. I said a silent prayer of thanks to God (I figure, He works in small ways like this, rather than big flashy 'poof, problem solved, be healed' stuff). So, I'm driving back to the barracks. I pull out the CD, pop it in, queue it up to "Home" and take a listen, brainstorming with random SaiKano scenes I've seen in other AMVs.

    Whoa.

I actually started crying. It was powerful, listening to the real CD copy of the song rather than .mp3z or the mtv.com video of the song. And the scenes....wow. I don't think I can make this video. The effects one sees in the mind....compared to the limited abilities of my hands, and my software. :)

But, hey, I might try it.

    Tentative Title: "Take Me Home"
    Anime: Saishu Heiki Kanojo
    Song: Zero 7 - "Home"
  • New video, yay. 2004-07-18 18:15:25 Finally done with Pentaxial Theory of Gravity.

  • Ideas, ideas 2004-07-17 03:49:11 Wanna make some Zero 7 AMVs after I'm done with my Man or Astroman? ones.

    Ideas:
    "destiny" - Marmalade Boy

This one would work really well. But I need stuff from the last 19 episodes. So, it'll be a while before those get released (they're releasing 19 eps at a time: 95 total episodes...so I need the 5th box) Dangit, I wanna make a romance video to this song. :)

"give it away" - Rurouni Kenshin OAV 1 and 2
Tentative Title: Dreams of a Battousai

I wanna make a Kenshin OAV video too, and be l33t. This is about the most innovation idea I've had in a while, and I'm not sure if I can pull it off (a sad, slow jazzy electronica instumental to bloody death action clips). The visualizations I'm getting on thinking about this are really weird, with lots of overlays. It might be really good, or the suck.

"red dust" - Martian Sucessor Nadesico
    Tentative Tilte: The Ambient AMV

Just a slow song, to slow clips, to get you in the mood to fall asleep. :o This is the least likely of the three, but I get some good mental pictures from it.

  • Almost done (yay?) 2004-07-17 03:30:16 Been saying almost done for a week with this video. But now, truly, I am almost done.

New, Final Title: Pentaxial Theory of Gravity
Song: "Specify Gravity" by Man or Astro-Man?
Anime: Zone of the Enders OAV: Idolo

I like the heck out of this video. It's much more viewer-friendly than my last one, while still maintaining a bit of the disturbance quotient (guess I hadn't got rid of all the demons I was exorcising with Trifecta).

All that's left, is the fifth point of the pentagon.

Fifth point of the pentagon, you ask?

Well, you probably don't ask, seeing as no one reads this but me. :)

This is yet another 'theoretical' video, this time coming from an op I left with a new creator, in which I mentioned that I personally thought videos had five kinds of sync:

    1. Beat sync
    2. Lyric sync
    3. Pacing
    4. Effect sync
    5. Tonal sync

I told the guy "More than one is better." Then I thought, why not use all 5 in a song? Well, I suck at beat sync...because I'm really lazy and I'm not overly fond of syncing all the beats. Lyric sync is hard too, but this song has very few lyrics, and I didn't sync all of them anyway. Pacing is where I think I'm pretty decent. Effect sync is a bit new to me, but I think I pulled it off. Tonal sync? Well, that's the last thing I'm doing, and it should come out pretty well. You'll have to watch the video to understand that one.
