BOLLOCKS!!! Never mind the

Yesterday I went to a job fair because, if I haven't mentioned it before, I don't have a job. I don't know if you've ever been to a job fair, but they suck. Job fairs in college sucked and, lemme tell you, job fairs after college suck worse. Not only do you have a potentially greater amount of people in attendance, but there is also a greater disparity of experience between the various job seekers. In college, most of the recruiters are really looking at a candidate's potential ability. They can't really look at work experience that much, because there is only so much work you might have done during your high school and college careers (unless you are Wile E. Coyote Super-Genius or something). But AFTER college, it seems that experience is key. Employers just loooove people who have 500 years of experience, even if that experience includes 499 years of sticking their thumbs up their asses. Sure, you might have to elaborate on your work experience sometime, but let's be honest here. Bullshit is cheap: easy to make and easy to fling around. Contrary to the name, you don't even need a bull! Human beings are perfectly capable of spewing bullshit out of their mouths! An ass-tonishing feat, to say the least. Hell, some people don't even have the experience, they just write it down on their resumès! Because of course everything people write on their resumès is true, right? Sometimes I feel sorry for these Human Resources people that have to attend these job fairs at the company's behest. Sure, its a day out of the office, but you have to talk to literally hundreds of people and pretend to sound vaguely interested while they describe their past work experiences. Of course, they get their jollies too, being able to ask such inane questions as: "So why are you looking for a job?" or "Describe your ideal job." or "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" The answers to those questions are "Because I don't have one", "Sitting on the beach sipping margueritas with my scantily-clad harem of girls surrounding me and getting paid for it", and "What did I just say? Were you even paying attention to what I just said? Well, screw you, I'm going home!" Strangely enough, you don't hear these answers often, probably because most of the jobseekers are wearing shit-eating grins and spewing out so many lies that the Devil himself would stop and say, "Good lord! That's a load of doody!" I guess they figure that people will respond to them better if they are smiling wider than the Cheshire Cat. I dunno, maybe it works, but I have my misplaced pride to guide me through life. I will neither lie to anyone's face about my work experiences nor lie on my resumè which, upon reflection, may be what is setting me back from getting a job. Still, standing for hours in lines for a handful of companies and maybe getting 5 minutes to talk to one of their fresh and energetic (after seeing hundreds of other people? Yeah, right...) representatives is not really worth it. I don't think I know anyone that has ever been offered a job right off the bat at a job fair, and I doubt I ever will. Makes me wonder why I even bother with these things (oh yeah, dwindling money supply).
I didn't even get any cool free things at their booths either. Man...in the immortal words of Afroman, Fuck the corporate world!

"I don't care if he's 12 feet tall and farting fire!"

Well, I had taken some precious time off of playing Everquest to write a video review, but then I got sucked into this whole journal thing. It's like freedom of expression + rabid boredom = great fun. Although sitting around for hours on end waiting for a rare monster to spawn can make a full body cavity search sound like fun.
Anyways, I will have to agree with Kusoyaro. I'm only about 2/3 of the way through the 2nd Dark Tower book by Stephen King and it is loads better than the first one. I've never read any David Farland books, but I must concur that Tad Williams is an awesome writer. Check out his fantasy trilogy that starts with the Dragonbone Chair or his 5-book Otherland series (although its not strictly fantasy) if you have the time. Other good fantasy or quasi-fantasy series to check out would be Roger Zelazny's 2 Amber series, Michael Moorcock's Elric stories, or Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser books.
Personally, I like that "If You Were Here" song by Jennifer on the DDR 2nd Mix, but I bet Kusoyaro wants to do a video to "Little Bitch" by the Specials. Hee hee.
