Breathe video

For the first time in a long time, I have begun working on new amvs. I'm still not as skilled as I would like, but I am definately getting better. The thing I am most proud of is that I have decided to really make an effort to raise the image quality of my vids. For example, I used almost my entire 70gb hard drive for my new video, Breathe by Prodigy with footage from Hellsing. Seriously, it takes about a day per episode to burn, convert & cut up the footage. I say a day becuz I have skool most days, so I start in the morning, discover my mac asleep & that it has stopped working, restart whatever process, then rpeat this till midnite. It took a week for the whole series (13 eps), and later I added some dvd extras.
I manage about 30 secs a day, and the video will be 7 minutes long. I really hope people like it! I am scared, however, of the ops which will surely follow. I try to be fair with my own ops, but I know I have inadvertantly pissed off quite a few people, & I have a feeling they will delight in tearing my videos apart first chance they get.
Whew!
Ok, on a side note, I scrapped my 1st intended project: Fear of the Dark by Iron Maiden with footage from Evangelion. When I fast forwarded the dvd to the song, it seemed to work, but I finally realized why one episode was not enuf to give me all the footage I needed: the song wasn't 3 min long like I 1st thot, but SEVEN min long. Woah. I wonder if it's even possible to produce a coherent video that's 7 min long with only 1 episode. I'm amazed I got 2 min out of it. Anyway, Evangelion is so cliche anyway. I might finish it at a later date, with more footage, but for now I'm going to concentrate on ONE video AT A TIME. Last time I was creating videos, I had like 10 projects going at once. No wonder it took forever! I promise myself I will work on these one at a time from now on, no matter what. Which is hard becuz I have the urge to just drop this video and start on the next one, which will be a dance amv, but I wont. I should be done in a few days to a week, if everything goes according to plan. -

I am now online with my new mac. Still havent found en editing program for mac os, but I'm working on it.
Since I am so greatful to be able to download amvs, I've been doing it like crazy, also leaving LOTS of ops. 70 in 3 days!!!! Now thats nuts. I will try to leave an op for EVERY vid, even ones that dont work, just to give back to the org community. Enjoy!

NEW g5 arrived last week!! It is contained in a large heavy box that I havent opened yet. Need a desk first.
Figured out a way to keep credit from kicking my ass: dont use it. Seriously, I will never use a store credit card again, except maybe for clothes. -

PC DOA!!!
With my compaq being, well, a compaq (never use them or hp), I cant make another amv for a loooong time. People didnt seem to like the ones I made anyway, so I guess it's no big loss. It kinda makes me want to consider choosing animation as a major: if I cant even do a decent job editing other people's work into something 1/2way interesting, what are the odds my own work will be any better?
I've started making banner ads as a form of creativity, becuz it wont break my moms pc. Those arent going well either. Sigh.
