  • ??? hits 2009-04-27 23:15:58 So Eric's at 2nd work, meaning I have the apartment mostly to myself, and I'm trying to stay not bored/lonely. This means downloading lots of new amvs & reviewing them. The best is TUS Busters, the worst so far is the Happiest video on earth. I need my disney fix dammit! I may go on youpoop later and seek out more disney amvs. Must. watch. little. mermaid.

    I'm also trying not to obsessively look at how many people have downloaded my newest vids. I need to make more, so it won't seem like such a big deal to post them anymore.

    Also, the giant tv & new comfortable chair may make for a nice viewing experience, buyt also it's almost impossible to navigate the computer. The screen resolution is low enough that it's diffucult to make out words unless the screen is zoomed in, but if the mouse moves, my viewing area is lost & I'm in some remote area of the screen. It's a work in progress,
    with heated massage :)

    Other than that, I survived another Monday. I'm losing the constant fear of being fired, but I still haven't adjusted to life in Mar Vista. That's right, I miss Long Beach. Despite the heat, the cops were way more chilled out, and I could park my car in legal spaces without getting ticketed. Here, they look for things, and I really don't want to drill holes in my car to put the front license plate. ARRG!

    For lunches, I've mastered the art of pan frying/steamiingn gyoza. I will never again microwave with paper towel, even if I'm in a hurry. Like today, when I realized I had 5 minutes to watch Spice & Wolf before my lunch break ended.

    I also want a craft to do. I'm thinking I might try to get back into sewing, but I'm worried it will turn out the same as it has in the past.

    One month to FANIME!!!!

  • 5422 hits 2009-04-26 17:41:08 Today I bugged Eric until he let me tag along with him to D&D. I hate D&D, but he isn't using his laptop, so I can use it to go online, like right now. I'm writing in my journal on his laptop right now.

    I walked on the beach when we first got here, after eating donuts. It's ridiculously nice outside, and if I have to deal with the bullshit side of living in California, I might as well enjoy the great part, too. Beautiful out, lots of birds & people. When I got to the end of the jetty, I saw about 10 dolphins playing really close to the shore. It was really cool! With the thought that I can't top that, I returned to Mike's apartment (the locale of D&D) and got some ginger ale. I'm trying to read mangafox online, but the site is loading really slowly for some reason.

    I miss having a cat. 
  • 5400 hits 2009-04-26 02:32:48 Last night, I went over to my friend Aarti's house with Eric. We hung out with her & Harshul, then played Magic cards. Aarti got tired pretty quick, while Harshul got into it. I had fun at first, but after a while, the complex rules were making my head spin. Also, Nikki came over for a few, and talked of her overly stressful schedule. Then, Eric & I went to eat ramen with Danny. Dave and Gio. It was really good. I got beer & shared with Dave, but didn't get too drunk. Then I came home, and Eric went to work til 6am.

    Today involved a lot of sleeping next to Eric, then getting my videos encoded for Fanime & A/X. I did another short comedy vid tonght that I'm going to upload. I also spent diner with Eric at his work, and learned more about how the pros use Final Cut.

    Spending time with friends & Eric is much more fun than watching anime alone. I tried watching ef tale of memories & spice & wolf, but it's just not the same by myself. 
  • 5349 hits 2009-04-16 21:33:08 I can't remember the last time I wrote in this. OMFG, I'm tired. My job at the hardware store has taken over my life. I have a schedule now where I work mornings, which sucks becuz my bf stays up late doing loud things. Another person got fired today, which makes 4 in the 2 months I've been working there. I'm becoming very worried about my job & my present, and how I'd pay the bills if I got the axe next.

    To calm my worries, I've been working on my first new amv in a long time. I'm going basic this time, no effects, just anime and music. I've chosen a new show that only one person has made a video for, and I'm hoping to finish by the famine deadline. Only problem is, the frame rates keep getting messed up, so every time the source gets re-encoded, I have to re-do the parts of the video it was in.

    It's fun to make a video after so long, tho. It reminds me of why I finished the film program at csulb. There is a goal I'm working to, of someday being a film editor (or director, maybe in my dreams.....) It seems a long way off, but I won't give up.

    My eyes hurt.
