  • 4501 hits 2008-06-23 22:40:09 This weekend was good. I hung out at Irvine Spectrum from 10 am to 10 pm with my friend Aarti. Well, she was working and I shopped. I got a cute shirt for Eric, and it makes him look thinner and sexier than his normal shirts!!! Guess who's going shopping at Old Navy when she gets her first paycheck ;)

    Throughout the day, I took refuge in the air-conditioned stores to escape the heat, which was the primary reason I decided to go. I spent a great deal of time in the book store, reading a disturbing graphic novel based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe, and some manga. Read or Dream is a good manga. Didn't like Spiral. Evangelion Angelic Days was kinda weird, in that the characters didn't stay true to the way they are shown in the anime.

    I also had my first pretzel dog. I was so hungry, but I had left my bag in Aarti's kiosk, and her boss came. I didn't want her to get in trouble for having a friend around, so I waited until he left to get my bag. The food there is all junk food, but most of it is good. Like the pretzels :)

    I also saw Get Smart. Basically, I paid $9 to be in a/c for 2 hours. It was a funny movie, and Bill Murray had a small cameo. The romance was more funny than forced, and there was lotsa action.

    I am very proud that I didn't buy any clothes for myself XD

    Today, I had an interview for Torrance tv. I will be an editor there, provided I can learn Avid. It probably won't be hard, but this is the first job I've had where you actually have to know how to do something. I go back in tomorrow to shadow one of the current editors. I'm so excited!!

    More later. Until then, maybe I'll work on an amv I have shelved away, perhaps on Avid instead of Final Cut Pro. 
  • 4492 hits 2008-06-19 15:57:23 I came back from Mississippi this Sunday. I stayed one nite with my bf, then crashed on my friend's bed. I feel bad, becuz now she doesn't have a bed. It's kinda weird sharing a room with 3 girls I don't know that well. One has been a bitch but the other 2 have been super nice. I spent yesterday with Nikita, and we rode the bus to the social security office. I need a replacement card to work at Ross, where I have been hired. For some reason, my mom changed the locks and didn't give me a key. So all my stuff is trapped in my house.

    Now my bf is making fun of me for writing in this journal...as if it's his bizness......

    Today I want to go to the beach with Eric and Nikita.


     
  • 4477 hits 2008-06-12 13:22:29 Vacation continues. It's been mellow. I finished reading a couple furry webcomics, then discovered another. I watched a few movies, including Indiana Jones again yesterday, Being Julia with my grandparents, then Hellboy. I love movies :)

    We've been out to eat a lot, most recently to the Mexican resturant on the north side of highway 15. It used to have terrible food, but their food (and drinks) have improved.

    We also saw the coast this weekend. Biloxi is in nowhere near the condition I remember it. It's a sad sight to see an entire street, once lined with beautiful old homes, is now gone. There are foundations left, but only the houses in the back row remain, because the houses closer to the water acted as a buffer. The casinos are back, but everything else is recovering much more slowly.

    THen we ate at Catfish Charlies in Ellisville. 
  • 4465 hits 2008-06-05 19:16:41 Today I went to MS State to visit the admission officer to the vet dept. It went well. She said that my gpa won't be a problem, that they are mostly looking for diversity. My film degree will be an asset. I might go to Southern Miss after I finish my BA and get my Masters in Public Safety there. I have no idea what public safety is, or if I would enjoy it. Ms. Coats implied that if I got the MS there, it would improve my chances of being accepted into the vet program, as well as take care of my pre-reqs.

    After a quick tour, I had lunch with my Grandparents at a local place called Doe's Eat Place. They had good food & good drinks. They we headed home, while I thought about things, mostly amv ideas, then dozed off. Later, I did the crossword. Tonight, I might call me friends and see how they are managing to get along without me.

    I also need to find lidgings when I return to California. Harshul called me last nite to let me know the apartment his buddy said would be available is not going to be available. Big surprise. So once again, I must begin the painful & tedious task of finding affordable housing. Better get on that..... 
  • 4453 hits 2008-06-04 17:11:07 Today was a pretty lazy day. I'm chillin in Laurel, Mississippi with my grandparetns. It's very relaxing. I finished Gunslinger Girl manga #6 last night. I might try to read the next 3 volumes online. It's super good. Also, I watched Les Miserables with my Grandparents. It was the 1998 version, with no music. I really wanted to see the musical version, but I can watch that later. Tonight, we will probably watch the Queen. I'm not too interested, but I'll watch it to watch it.

    Earlier, I visited with a local vet, who I will probably be shadowing this winter.

    Then, I went to the dentist.
